PALAZZO DONNA TITI'

Palazzo Muci is a wonderful boutique hotel. The original stone architecture makes it feel like you’ve entered an old palace but equipped with all the modern amenities like air conditioning, beautiful balconies, and a private swimming pool. During the heat of summer we lounged in the courtyard drinking wine, soaked in the pool, and went up to the roof during sunset.

The town of Nardo is equally quaint as you are located right in the old town. You are only minutes away from walking to the town’s restaurants, bars, shops, and gelaterias. We stayed for two nights, both evenings walking into town for late dinners and strolls through the piazzas. One of the squares even had two musicians playing an accordion and tambourine while locals danced in the middle of the square, with neighbors looking down from balconies above.

Afternoons were hot and sleepy (town was basically dead) so it was perfect to relax in the shade by the pool - it was our own little private lido.

Perhaps best of all was the incredible staff… Betty messaged us on WhatsApp the evening before our arrival to coordinate check in times (also so they could get the a/c in our rooms going…). She greeted us upon arrival and made us feel at home. She was reachable throughout our visit on WhatsApp - and even helped make dinner reservations at her recommended spots. We wanted to rent scooters to explore the different towns after our visit, and Betty happily reached out to multiple rental companies and organized our booking.

The rest of the staff kept the grounds extremely clean and tidy - always available to help at any time. We felt at home and it was definitely a highlight of our trip through Puglia.

We stayed at Palazzo Mucci during a week in September and loved every minute. The staff is so friendly and helpful -- the breakfast is the best --- and the setting inspiring.

I strongly recommend the Palazzo and hope to be able to soon return.

Don’t get me wrong. The palazzo is beautifully renovated with great taste. However, our stay was a bit surreal. We got no answers to our e-mail asking for a parking space. They advised to contact them by WhatsApp but still no answer to our message until we wrote a second time just before arriving. The palazzo felt deserted; little pool in the garden not clean; no one to welcome us. The cleaning lady finally arrived. Very helpful and sweet and she kept on apologizing that the responsible person was not there. Same thing in the morning when checking out…. For the price you charge, you can’t go cheap on the customer experience. A real pity as the place has the potential to be very memorable.

Both historic palaces, tastefully restored and decorated by the French celebrity chef Guy Martin, are located in the historic part of the city of Nardo - a pearl of the Salentinian Baroque. Palazzo Muci has a small courtyard with a beautiful garden and swimming pool, which adds "breath" to the property, while Palazzo Maritati has a solarium and jacuzzi on the roof. I consider being in a palazzo a unique experience. The common parts are full of art, collectible items and sculptures, albums and furniture. You can feel really special, because the atmosphere is very intimate and leaves guests a lot of freedom. Damiano helps you arrange everything you need, knows the best places for dinner and the best beaches. He is very nice and understands what people on vacation need. Wonderful place! And a total charm :)

This place is amazing. Very beautiful palazzo with beautiful rooms . Each room is different, great material, colours and art pieces! The pool area is very pretty. Damiano is a very friendly host. Everything went well, I had a great stay, many thanks.
