Perfect holiday destination
We stayed at Sterling Orange Village Gangtok for a week in May 2023. Even before we arrived in Gangtok, Ms. Reshma Shanker of their Travel desk, co-ordinated with us and made a plan for a tour of North Sikkim as well as Gangtok and surroundings.

On arrival, the entire team at the reception made our check-in smooth and easy. The room was well equipped, comfortable and clean, with a gorgeous view of the mountains and valley below.

A casual remark by my husband to Mr Puneet Sharma, Resort Manager, resulted in a surprise decoration of our room on our wedding anniversary day, with balloons, rose petals and a pair of swans on the bed, crafted with towels! Kudos to room boys Pradeep and Passang!

The food was delicious, with quite a variety of items on offer at the breakfast and dinner buffets. The dining room staff members Laxmi, Rebbiea, Pramod, Nitin (and others whom I may have omitted) were prompt in their service.

Our experience at the spa in the resort was relaxing, with an expert massage by the masseuse. After continuous travel on the rough roads of Sikkim for three continuous days, this massage was much needed and rejuvenated our bodies and spirits.

Our checkout and bill settlement was as smooth as the check-in, with the added bonus of a packed breakfast delivered promptly at 7 am to the front desk.
Overall, a memorable stay.

Overall Bad Experience
This Hotel is just overrated . Food quality is very Bad . They are charging very high price for food . Even for a cigarette where the price of a packet is Rs 330 they are charging Rs 512. For simple bucket of ice they are charging money . Room service is also very poor.Location wise it’s around 10 kms from MG Marg . Spent Rs 300 to reach MG Marg. There are several other good hotel options in Gangtok . Overall experience is very bad .

NO BASIC COURTESY
While checking in on 6 th October 2022 night , i had given my Driving License as ID proof. The front office people forgot to return it. As i was on an India tour in a self driven car i came to knew about the misplacing of my DL when i checked in at Polo Tower Hotel at Agartala. Though i have been constantly in touch with Mr.Vikas and Mr.Krishna of Sterling Resort, Gangtok, Sikkim for the last 30 days to get back my DL still they have not shown the basic courtesy to courier the DL. Even the tip i paid at the hotel is at least 10 times more than the courier charges. The most irresponsible behaviour of the Sterling Staffs are quite painful. I don’t know what hospitality is all about for these people ??

Superb stay
Lovely location, good staff. Guarang, the resort manager is a person to meet for sure. He gave all the advise required to make our holiday memorable. He knew the north east well and this made it easy for us to plan wher and what to see during our holiday. Thanks a ton. We need to visit the place again as there are two place that we did not have time to see.

Not worth the price
We stayed for 3 days, booked two rooms. One of the rooms had water leakage and musty odor. Complained many times but in vain. Asked for a room change, but the management denied it outrightly. Leakage was finally fixed on day 3 after repeated follow ups. Food is also quite average and if you're ordering ala carte, be prepared to wait from 45 mins to an hour, even for a simple bread omelette and tea. Location was quite far off, taxi drivers asked for 700-900 from city center. Better avoid staying here in peak season. View from room is also alright.
