Average ski lift
This is just an average ski lift that takes you to the top where the Mountain Cottage Portasky is located. You get on near the center of Velka Upa, and then make your way up. There is pay parking at the base if you come by car. Be aware that this lift only runs every 30 minutes in summer, so plan accordingly. If bad weather comes and they have to shut it down, and you are at the top, then you will be walking down.
The staff at the bottom were rather rude and unpleasant, but those at the top had a better attitude. This is a normal ski lift where you sit and pull the bar over your head. You aren't so high in the air, but it might be unpleasant for some affected by heights. After going to the top we saw a children's playground nearby and went to the Portasky cottage for a couple of beers. There isn't much at the top, unless you plan to go hiking further towards the Snezka Mountain. It is a nice view of Velka Upa from the top, and you can actually make out the tower on top of nearby Black Mountain (Cerna Hora). If you do go, then decide whether you plan to go on any other nearby ski lifts or cable cars because you can buy a package deal at a better price.

Nice day trip
Grand wee spot in a pleasant hilly, rather than mountainous environment. Some decent enough bars in the locale but not enough here to stay entertained for too long.
