Inside
The cottage is completely, comfortably and cosily furnished and is constantly refreshed by the owner. The living room has a corner sofa (also a sofa bed), coffee table, corner cupboard, satellite TV, DVD player, CD player with tuner and a bookcase with all kinds of books. In the kitchen there is a corner kitchen unit with carousel cabinet and drawers (utensils), sink, gas cooker, fridge/freezer, kitchen island (drawers) breakfast bar and 4 chairs (extra chairs are under the bed in the bedroom), crockery cupboard, cooking pots, frying pans, frying pans, wok, grill pan, deep fryer, food processor, sandwich maker, mixer, gourmet set, microwave oven, Senseo. All supplies can be used, but replenish what is used up or nearly used up. Please at least leave water, toilet paper and some coffee pods. Please do not use the beech wood worktops as cutting boards. In the bathroom there is a shower, wash basin, a hairdryer, medicine cabinet with mirror, toilet, washing machine, low cabinet containing washing powder etc. and a first-aid kit. The water is very calcareous in this area. Therefore, preferably use bottled water in the senseo machine and always add anti-lime in the washing machine. Bedroom 1 has a double bed (1.60 x 2 m.), a closet (hanging/ laying) and a ceiling fan. Bedroom 2 has a single bed and a bunk bed (200*90), a closet and a corner cupboard with fan. The wardrobe contains a hoover, iron and extra fans for the other rooms. Behind the door is the ironing board.Pillows, duvets and blankets are plentiful.Lilliputienne is located on the edge of the park. Moreover, this part of the park is "out of the loop" and will only be visited by fellow residents.
Of course, there are plenty of opportunities for those who need a bit more activity. There is a swimming pool in the park with accompanying terrace, but there is also a boules court, a tennis court, a volleyball court, a table tennis table and a playground for the little ones. In high season, an entertainment team guarantees fun for young people up to 14 years old. But older people can also easily join in if they wish. The advantage here is that Dutch is spoken in the park and the French staff is patient with non-native speakers. In the park's restaurant, you can eat well for a very reasonable price. In high season, a menu musique is organised every Sunday evening; the bands are often surprisingly good. Once a week, high season, there is a disco or foam party.
Lilliputienne has 3 terraces, a front terrace with 2 wooden deckchairs, a table with 4 chairs and a large parasol, a side terrace with a bench and a rear terrace where there is a table in the shade around the grape tree and 2 more deckchairs for sunbathing. All terraces guarantee optimum privacy, partly due to vegetation. You can cool down under the outdoor shower if necessary. Outside there is a covered terrace with 2 wooden loungers, large parasol, a table with parasol and 4 chairs. Side terrace with chest for the cushions (I put a tablecloth over it, it is rather white and so looks like a freezer!), a bench, chair and parasol. Behind, the grape tree surrounded by a table with four chairs. All the terraces are lit. At the back of the property there are 2 more deck chairs with parasol and the clothes lines. Additional chairs can also be found behind the house.
In the summer months, a baker comes to the park every day. He/she is at reception between 09.00 and 09.30 and starts selling there. Afterwards, he makes a tour of the park, where the routes are completely random and therefore absolutely unpredictable. Other places to visit include Sauve, a medieval town, Aigues-Mortes, a walled fortified town, Saint Martin de Londres, St Guilhem le Désert and, of course, Nîmes, Montpellier, Avignon, Alès, Sète, Béziers.
Open fires and charcoal and gas barbecues are prohibited. Also watch out for burning cigarettes. There is a small fire extinguisher in the cottage. A list of doctors and dentists on duty can be found in reception.
There is plenty to do in the area. Sports enthusiasts will definitely want to take a canoe trip on the river Herault. Towards "Ganges" there are several rental companies. You can also cycle in the area. There are even cycling weeks organised at Parc le Duc. Motorcyclists also get their money's worth. You can make beautiful trips. At various places in the Herault and Vis rivers you can swim. The bottom of the rivers is covered with stones and is therefore slippery, slippery and sometimes sharp. Slippers, bathing shoes or even trainers are not a luxury. Climb the Pic Saint Loup. The Pic Saint-Loup (Mountain of Saint Loup) is a mountain in Languedoc-Roussillon, in the south of France. The 658-metre-high mountain towers over all the mountains and hills in the area and is visible in large parts of the Montpellier area. The mountain is located between the villages of Cazevielle, Saint-Mathieu-de-Tréviers, Saint-Jean-de-Cuculles and Saint-Martin-de-Londres. Due to the fact that the mountain has both steep and sloping sides, it is an attraction for hikers and mountaineers. At the top of the mountain is a small chapel and a large steel cross. The markets with their fruit and vegetables, cheeses, bread, honey, wine, fish, poultry, meat, plants, clothes, tablecloths, gadgets, etc.
Going south and skipping the beach is, of course, impossible. We always go to Carnon "Le Petit Travers". You can usually park your car there easily, take a few steps et voilà, sand and sea. In the cottage, 2 beach chairs, 2 deck chairs and a parasol hang on hooks in the hallway. In Palavas and la Grande Motte you can go out in the evening, for instance to the casino. There are plenty of nice restaurants in the area. There are countless caves near the park and everywhere you can taste (dégustation) before buying. The nearest place to do your shopping is Saint Mathieu. Here you will find a bakery and more small shops but also an Intermarché (supermarket) and a petrol station. In Jacou, although further away, there is a larger Intermarché and several other shops as well as a Mc Donald's and a pizzeria, for a reasonably quick bite. Another shopping address is the Carrefour, mega-large and an insane selection. From Carnon Plage, it is reasonably close. The Carrefour is in a kind of shopping centre with very nice shops (clothes and shoes!!). There is also a gigantic toy shop. You can easily buy fruit and vegetables at the roadside stalls, it's much cheaper and often fresher!
