Caldera View Private Villa (Adults only)

My wife and I have just returned from a 5 x night stay and this is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The hotel itself is lovely with well equipped rooms all with views of the evening sunset over the Caldera. We stayed in room 1 which is the Honeymoon suit as this trip was to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. It has the sun on the large terrace from morning until night and is spacious with sun loungers, table and chairs and an amazing hot tub and its very private.
When we arrived, we were greeted by Kiriakos who explained everything whilst we had a complimentary drink of wine and a tour of the hotel. On arrival in our room we had a bottle of bubbly on ice and an amazing fruit platter waiting for us. We were quite late arriving but they still supplied us with some ham and cheese toasties despite the restaurant being shut for the evening.
Breakfast in the morning is a treat and is served in your room if you like and its always bang on time and really well presented with a wide selection of options to choose from.
The pool area is relaxing and the food available throughout the day is excellent. We really only sampled toasties, club sandwich and salads but all were excellent. The pool bar staff deliver everything straight to your sun lounger and nothing is too much trouble.
It is situated a short walk from the village of Megalochori which has some lovely local restaurants and shops. We ate there 3 nights out of 5 and were lucky enough on one occasion to be there when there was a festival on and the place was packed with locals all celebrating. The atmosphere was amazing. Some have said in reviews its a dark road or very rocky etc but we found it an easy 12 minute walk with only one short stretch dark enough to need your phone to see where you are going.
The staff and the service they provide at this hotel is second to none. Ive already mentioned Kiriakos, who is the general manager and really cant do enough to help, but all the staff were very good, I wish I could remember all their names! From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble and they make every effort to make your stay extra special. They also provide a daily free shuttle to Fira and the nearby local beaches which allows you to explore the rest of the island.
Some hotels are stingy with towels and stuff but not here! Towels for everything and an abundance of them. They even gave us a beach bag with towels to go to the beach!
The tourist areas of Oia and Fira are lovely to visit, and we did both in one day by getting the shuttle bus to Fira and then the local bus to Oia and then back to Fira, and the shuttle bus back to the hotel. It was lovely but very busy.
If you want a nice peaceful, high quality place to stay in Santorini then I would highly recommend the Caldera Dolphin Suites!

Recently, we arrived home after spending a week at this lovely little boutique hotel. Here are some plus and minus points to consider
Plus points:
All the staff have a superb attitude to its guests and bend over backwards to ensure your stay is of the highest calibre

The hotel is situated 15 minutes walk from the local village and a prime spot for the caldera sunset.

There are only 15 rooms so it's generally really quiet and peaceful

There are plenty of shaded areas (a previous review stated that this was an issue). Maybe the hotel acted on this recommendation?

The complex and rooms are spotless and maintained to a high standard.

The hotel offers a daily free shuttle service into Fira and Perivulos, which saves you some money.

Sebastian and Kiriakos are excellent. They have an extensive knowledge of the island, and they booked all the restaurants we chose for us. All staff are a credit to the owners

The room was cleaned impeccably

The facilities are enough for long stays and the food was very well prepared. The margarita pizza and the tuna salad are to die for. If you are salt intolerant, then remember to tell the chef no added salt as they use a bit to season the food after its cooked.

The only issues I had was that our room #15, which is the honeymoon double, was
Quite small, there wasn't much room to move around the bed when there are 2 of you getting ready. Also, the whirlpool is overlooked by the pool terrace above, so it wasn't that private, and guests going down or up the stairs in front could look over the balcony really easily. On 2 occasions, I had to ask the cleaner to move off the step outside our gate because her smoking fumes wafted onto our balcony and up my nose. The smoking area is not outside guest rooms, nor should it be allowed.

There are only a couple of restaurants in the local village and not all of them have good reviews

Lastly, and sadly, I found the cocktails quite bland. Compared to other restaurants and bars, the mojito and pins colada are weak. The aperol spritz are great, though. Despite these minor things, we would definitely book again, but the bigger room next time.

Firstly it's only 15 minutes from the airport which was very quick and convenient.
Beautiful suites (15 rooms), from the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a sweet tasty local red wine which we had on the reception balcony overlooking the Caldera.
The staff we superb, friendly and knowledge and answered all our questions especially Keryakos!!
They offer a free shuttle bus to Fira twice a day there and back!
Rooms are very clean, comfortable beds and kitchen area where they have tea and coffee facilities. The fridge contains 2 bottles of water, which were refilled every day with the room cleaning service.
Our room had an outdoor hot tub (perfect temperature) overlooking the caldera with an amazing view of the sunset!!
We highly recommend these suites if you are looking for a peaceful, relaxed holiday with no children.

However, the most stand out part of this hotel is the staff and the service they provide. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble and they make every effort to make your stay extra special. They also provide a daily free shuttle to Fira and the nearby local beaches which allows you to explore the rest of the island with ease if you do not wish to hire your own car. The reception staff gave us some recommendations for places to visit and places to eat, which were all highlights of our trip.

Yes, the busy tourist areas of Oia and Fira are lovely to visit, but if you want to experience all of Santorini and have the most amazing experience possible then I would highly recommend the Caldera Dolphin Suites!

Possibly the best hotel I've ever stayed in. We only stayed a week but next time it will be longer. The rooms are massive with a small kitchenette and eating area. We had a junior suite which had a front yard with 2 built in sunbeds and a table. Big bathroom and big shower. Lots of shampoo and stuff. Massive bed and very comfortable, good size balcony overlooking the sea which is about a mile below. There are only about 15 rooms, all face the sea. Some have hot tubs. The pool area is good. We only saw 14 people round the pool at one time and that included us 2. There's a small restaurant with good food and the staff are brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is on its own along narrow road about a 15 minute walk from the village. The road isn't lit very well so take a torch.
Sometimes it's a bit windy round the pool area. There are glass panels, so it's not too bad, but if it's a bit nippy there are blankets available. It's not a cheap place to stay but it's worth it. If I had the money, I'd stay for months. The best bit is breakfast. You can have it on your balcony up until 11.45. Fried eggs, bacon, sausages and toast. This is the only place in the world I've been up for breakfast every day and that includes my house! I can't wait to get back here.
