  • What is Paga in Structural and what are Payment Pre-Authorisations?
    When you book, some facilities offer the possibility of paying directly at the facility. In these cases you will simply be asked to insert your credit (or debit) card to guarantee the booking, but without any charge. The sum will be taken from your credit card only in the cases provided for by the policies and conditions relating to your booking. In other cases, when the Partner does not adopt automatic availability and booking systems, but confirms reservations "manually", then you will be asked to insert your credit (or debit) card to guarantee the reservation, and then be directly charged at the same time as the Partner confirms the booking (within 24-48 hours). At that moment you will receive an email with the booking confirmation and payment.
  • How do I know if my card has been pre-authorized?
    By consulting your credit card balance you will see that your available balance will be temporarily reduced by the amount of your booking. In other cases and depending on the policy of your credit card circuit, you may also find an entry in the monthly summary of card movements: "pending operation". In the Douro Splendor
Had a stay at Douro Royal Valley and it turned out to be great. The suite was spacious with a super comfy bed, and the private garden offered a sweet river view. Waking up to the Douro River view was a highlight. The Palato D’Ouro restaurant served up solid Douro flavors, and the Ruby Bar had a laid-back vibe. Practical indulgence in the Douro's splendor. Fantastic experience.

Comfort and Nature at Douro Royal Valley

Nice stay but maybe didn’t meet expectations.
Amazing location right on the river. Fantastic views. Room was good. However it was expensive for what we got. The breakfast was good but the bar a bit soulless and the main restaurant was expensive and average. I didn’t think it was a 5 star hotel. No help with the bags, food wasn’t great, there was rarely anyone at the bar. Overall good but could be better.

Amazing hotel with brilliant Chef in the heart of Douro valley
It was absolutely amazing stay that we had in Douro valley thanks to the Douro Royal valley Hotel&Spa, especially because our trip took place when it was mostly raining… luckily, me and my husband were able to use that time properly in the hotel’s spa, having massage, enjoying the time in the swimming pool, spending some time in sauna and even at the gym. Thanks to hotel’s facilities the trip was not a waste of time, we could rest actively, we also enjoyed very much the overall ambience of the hotel and taking care of the personell so that overall the hotel is a calm place to stay at. What caught us by surprise was absolutely stunning dinner- each out of 6 courses we had was prepared and served with such a mastery that we thought we are at the resturant with micheline star chef- chapeau bas to the Chef - your courses are absolute masterpiece and the best of the best we tried on our 2-week trip in Portugal. Thank you for this experience :)

Not a 5 Star
The rooms were nice but front desk was not very welcoming, hotel decor seemed cold and plain. The restaurant was mediocre. Definitely not a 5 star. More like a 3 star. Was disappointed with our stay.

Pour se reposer et découvrir la région
Nous avions décidé de fêter dignement notre anniversaire de mariage dans un lieu unique et au calme.
Le choix s'est porté sur cet hôtel, et nous n'avons pas été déçu.
Accueil chaleureux et professionnel, chambre spacieuse avec une vue directe sur le Douro et surtout une surprise sous la forme d'un gâteau et d'une bouteille de vin qui nous attendait dans la chambre. Belle initiative de la part de la direction.
Superbe buffet continental au petit déjeuner avec en partie des produits locaux, dîner avec un menu varié mettant en avant des saveurs du terroir (compris dans notre forfait).
La piscine avec vue sur le Douro est vraiment superbe.
L'hôtel propose aussi un spa et une piscine d'intérieur.
Parking couvert compris dans le prix de la chambre.

Très jolie vue des chambres et de la piscine
Mais personnel peu agréables et souriant …
Spa vraiment pas très propres ou l’on nous vend des bonnet de bain ( soit disant obligatoire mais aucunement demandé lors de la réservation) les masseuses sont très désagréable.
Pour un 5 étoiles voir deux jours de suite des touffe de cheveux ce balader dans la piscine ( matin et soir …) nous trouvons ça pas très propres ..

Point positif pour le serveur du soir ( le seul qui a parler français, du moins fait l’effort ..) et celui du Ruby bar, pour c’est super pina colada les seuls agreable !!

Point positif le petit déjeuner est super, le parking gratuit . La vue est sublime est calme
Le restaurant nous a plu
Au tarifs que nous payons nous espérions mieux.

Meme la literie est à revoir.

Un hôtel rénové, moderne, propre, spacieux et avec un petit déjeuner exceptionnel et une vue à couper le souffle. chambre avec balcon + fauteuils donnant sur le Douro. Le parking est inclus dans le prix de la chambre. Les chambre sont au top, très grand lit, confortable + petit salon. Tout le nécessaire de toilette et belle et grande douche à l'italienne

Hôtel vieillissant les salles de bain sont dans un état pitoyable la literie n’en parlons pas on dort sur des planches.
On a réservé 24 heures avant le dîner du chef à 120 € pour deux on s’est retrouvé à choisir les plats du menus à la carte avec un vins médiocre une grosse arnaque !!
Sinon la vue est superbe et le personnel fait de son mieux aucune organisation pour un hôtel cinq étoiles c’est vraiment une usine à fric tant que ça dure.

Horrible! à éviter
Heureusement notre séjour n’était que de deux nuits. On a quand même voulu annuler la deuxième nuit mais vu que ce n’était pas possible on est resté les deux nuits. Habitué à fréquenter des hôtels partout dans le monde celui-ci est ma plus grande déception. Piscines intérieures sales, rouille, portes cassées, manque de propreté, carrelages cassés (super dangereux). Um 5 étoiles qui fait payer le service room. Le restaurant est à fuir aussi, air de cantine, il a fallu 4 serveurs pour avoir un deuxième morceau de pain. Beaucoup d’attente entre les plats à tel point qu’on a mis 2 heures pour sortir de table en ayant mangé du pain et du beurre. La qualité des plats était lamentable au niveau des entrées et les plsts principaux à peine touchés car vu la longue attente on avait plus faim. Pas un mot d’excuse de 5 serveurs venus à table. Les assiettes d’amuses bouche n’ont été débarassées qu’au moment de l’addition. Restaurant où l’on mange presque dans l’obscurité. Espace vastes sans aucune déco. Impression d’être dans un hôpital. Certes la vue et la piscine sont magnifiques mais il faut traverser un très très long couloir (blanc sans deco, dans lequel je m’y aventurerais pas toute seule). Arrivés à 15:30 pas de parasols disponibles. transats libres sous 38 degrés non Merci
Bref, allez dans cette région magnifique mais fuyez cet hotel. Moche, pas entretenu, sans âme.

Piscina, entorno y desayuno espectacular
El hotel no es nada pomposo, de líneas actuales y con todas las comodidades pero sin lujos. El entorno junto al río y las vistas son magníficas, así como la piscina infinita que se une visualmente con el Duero... y como no, el desayuno es muy bueno. No puedo juzgar la calidad-precio ya que nuestra visita se trataba de un regalo.

Bonito lugar para acomodarse.
Los hoteles de cinco estrellas ya no son lo que eran. Es decepcionante que el acceso sea por el parking y que tenga uno que acarrear con su equipaje hasta el ascensor y luego hasta la habitación. El servicio de botonería es inexistente, y eso, en ciertos alojamientos se echa en falta. Parece que pagar mas de cien euros por noche, deben dar lugar a ciertas atenciones que no sean un mero alojamiento.
En cuanto a la restauranción, dado que el lugar permite pocas opciones, elejimos cenar en el mismo hotel, y a la par que caro, la carta es escasa y las viandas más que normalitas para el precio pagado. Esperar quince minutos para una primera bebida, también deja al servicio un poco abandonado.
Por lo demás la piscina es espectacular en sus vistas del duero, y las instalaciones nuevas y modernas, aunque reitero la mala gestión del check in.

Delicioso relax
La ubicación en un entorno natural y relajante pegadito al río Douro. Las instalaciones inmejorables, amplias, cuidadas y con unas vistas impresionantes. El pequeño y relajante spa se complementa con las vistas. El agua de la piscina exterior situada en la planta más alta se confunde con la del caudal Del Río. Excelente.

Großes Hotel, was von außen eher einem Kasten gleicht, aber innen wirklich toll ist. Sehr modern, toller Service, wahnsinns Ausblick. EMPFEHLUNG!!

Das Hotel liegt am Ufer des Douro. Große Tiefgarage unter dem Hotel.

Moderne, große Zimmer. Alle haben Blick auf den Douro. Wunderschöne Aussicht, wenn man morgens aufsteht. Das Zimmer ist sehr modern und großzügig eingerichtet. Schönes geräumiges Bad mit begehbarer Dusche. Außerdem sehr ruhig. Kein Ton von Nachbarn oder vom Gang zu hören.

Service war sehr gut. Alle Wünsche wurden schnell erfüllt.

Wir waren Abends im Restaurant und haben sehr gut gegessen. Der Service hier könnte etwas schneller sein, aber war dennoch in Ordnung. Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig. Gute Säfte.

Absolut klasse ist auf dem Dach der Pool mit Blick auf den Douro. Leider hatten wir nicht schönes Wetter, als wir dort waren, weshalb auf der Pool uns viel zu kalt war. Dafür gibt es aber zwei Innenpools, an denen man bei schöner Aussicht auch liegen kann. Der Tennisplatz war sehr interessant gebaut. In einem "Käfig", in dem man immer das Gefühl hatte, direkt über dem Fluss zu spielen. Leider war der Platz nicht ganz eben.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo albergo , soprattutto per la posizione e anche perché essendo un 5 stelle ci aspettavamo un hotel all’altezza . Purtroppo , posizione e vista a parte , struttura servizi e ristorante non li ho trovati da 5 stelle ...ma il prezzo si
L’hotel è un casermone e nella parti in comune manca di stile e di buon gusto . La piscina a sfioro con una vista bellissima , poteva essere più curata . Niente servizio a bordo piscina . Al contrario le camere sono belle e spaziose .

Hotel Top, Essen Flop
Auf unserer Reise durch Nordportugal haben wir auch hier einen Halt eingelegt. Wir waren zwei Nächte im Hotel.
Das Hotel selber ist sehr schön gelegen. Man hat aus den Zimmern eine tolle Aussicht auf den Douro. Auch der Wellnessbereich ist sehr schön angelegt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.
Beim Essen müssen wir aber einige Abstriche machen. Das ist hier stark verbesserungswürdig.
Von der Lage und Komfort her absolut empfehlenswert.

Fin de semana Perfecto
Nos alojamos en el Hotel mi mujer y yo, en un viaje de descanso que resulto PERFECTO.
Localización del hotel, por GPS sin ningún problema, nos llevó por vías interiores y hasta la puerta del Hotel. Quiza la única duda, ya que para entrar, tienes que tocar el timbre y te abren la puerta del garage, donde estacionas el vehículo y subes hasta el segundo piso hasta recepción.
La atención perfecta, tanto en recepción como en el comedor, sobre todo en este ultimo, ya que al estar la carta en portugues algunas palabras no las conociamos y nos explicaron y recomendaron alguno de los platos a elegir, de 10 para la atención y para la cena.
Y sin palabras del concierto en el bar, es lo que deseas para un fin de semana perfecto.
El desayuno, muy bueno.
LAS INSTALACIONES DE OCIO Y ESPARCIMIENTO SUPER PERFECTAS. Hasta el buen tiempo se alio con el fin de semana PERFECTO, sol, buena temperatura, buenas vistas y a descansar..........
Paseo relajante hasta la presa, todo por el borde del rio, con desconexión total y en medio de la naturaleza, de 10.
REPETIREMOS (Y usaremos la pista de tenis que nos quedo pendiente).

Wunderschöner Infinity-Pool über dem Douro
Das Schönste an diesem Hotel ist der tolle Infinity-Pool mit Traumblick über dem Douro, auch von allen Zimmern (alle mit Balkon) hat man einen schönen Blick auf den Fluss, sogar vom Tennisplatz aus.
Das Hotel ist modern und puristisch gehalten, obwohl ich sonst kleinere Hotels/Quintas im landestypischen Stil bevorzuge, habe ich dieses Haus nicht als "hässlichen Betonklotz" empfunden.
Die Zimmer sind ausreichend groß und funktional eingerichtet.
Das Restaurant bietet ein sehr gutes Frühstücksbuffet und auch Abends waren wir vom Essen angenehm überrascht: gute und typische Fleisch-, Fisch- und vegetarische (von letzteren allerdings nur 2) Gerichte (z.B. Kabeljau, Seabass, Lamm, Kaninchen, Alheira etc), Kindermenü mit Vorspeise, Hauptgericht und Nachtisch (ebenfalls mehrere zur Auswahl), uns hat es allen sehr gut geschmeckt. Große Weinkarte v.a. mit Douro-Weinen. Preislich alles absolut angemessen (einzig das "Gedeck" überteuert, dafür gibt es aber auch einen Gruß aus der Küche).
Spa mit einfachem Dampfbad/Sauna (Achtung: nicht textilfrei) und 2 Innenpools (Achtung: nur mit Badekappe 😕) und Fitnnessraum vorhanden, diese alle nicht besonders reizvoll. Spa-Anwendungen überteuert.
Serviceniveau sehr unterschiedlich (und insgesamt kein 5-Sterne-Niveau), z.B. gibt es Mittags nur das, wozu das Personal Lust hat, es sei denn der Chef ist dabei 😀), obwohl das Haus nicht ausgebucht war, war es nicht möglich, uns und den Kindern (alle haben den gleichen Nachnamen) nebeneinanderliegende Zimmer zu geben 🤔), einige Mitarbeiter sprechen kein/kaum Englisch etc. (Das fanden wir allerdings alles nicht wirklich "tragisch", es erklärt nur, warum es keine 5 Punkte gibt).

Unser Fazit: Pool und Blick sind fantastisch, wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und würden jederzeit wieder kommen!

Ein Gigant in der Landschaft
Das Hotel wirkt in der sehr grünen und bewegten Landschaft des Douros etwas verloren. Der Blick auf den Douro aus dem Zimmer ist dafür fantastisch. Das gilt auch für den Pool. Lieder fehlt es aber etwas an Begeisterung. Als Gast würde man doch gerade mit so einer Aussicht gerne am Abend ein gutes Glas Wein aus der Region geniessen. Das kann man aber nur auf der unteren Ebene des Restaurants. Leider gibt es keine Lounge auf der Pool Ebene, die nach 19.30 noch offen ist. Das Restaurant selber wirkt etwas nüchtern. Obwohl viel auf Design geachtet wurde wird keine Emotion geweckt. Die gesamte Anlage wird etwas befremdlich in der Landschaft und auch überdimensioniert.

Ni queremos volver ni lo recomendamos.
Nos hemos alojado en ese hotel (de 5 estrellas) invitados por unos amigos, pero el recuerdo no es grato en general.
En primer lugar, parece casi imposible llegar hasta su ubicación. Los GPS se volvían locos y no hay apenas indicación salvo en las inmediaciones del hotel, cuando ya no es necesario.
Es un edificio muy nuevo pero conservado con poco mimo y con bastantes desperfectos teniendo en cuenta su construcción: los dispositivos de tarjetas para activar las luces en las habitaciones ya no funcionaban bien; los botones de llamada de los ascensores oscilaban y no permitían llamarlos; los mismos ascensores traqueteaban y crujían (sobre todo al subir al spa); en el parking (gratuito) el ruido era atronador; la puerta del parking tardaba muchísimo en abrir, ya que no reconocían las tarjetas.
Tuvimos un detalle muy feo y poco profesional a la hora de la cena (no incluida en el precio del alojamiento): viajamos con un niño de 5 años y el menú infantil era demasiado "chef" incluso para un niño de 12 años. Pedimos amablemente si era posible hacerle una omelette (tortilla francesa). El camarero, con mil excusas peregrinas nos comentó que no estaba en el menú (menú infantil 15 euros) y que no sabría como cobrarlo (?) y que el Chef no accedía a ningún tipo de petición. Nuestra sorpresa fue mayúscula cuando al retirarnos, en la carta de menú para servir en las habitaciones, descubrimos que pueden hacer, entre otros platos, omelette (de cualquier tipo) y subirla (con un coste de 7,5 euros) a cualquier hora del día o la noche. Su precio, también estipulado, es de 9,5 euros.
Se olvidaron de colocar la cama supletoria del niño (apenas había 20 personas en el hotel), no tuvieron ningún detalle para la estancia -salvo una botella de agua de lo más corriente en Portugal (Luso)- y el colchón tenía bultos.
Lo único positivo a reseñar son las espectaculares vistas y lo agradable que estaba el agua de la piscina para niños. El desayuno buffet era apropiado para la categoría del hotel, pero el resto desmerece su relación calidad-precio y sus pretendidas estrellas.
Nota: el resto de la estancia comimos y cenamos fuera del restaurante del hotel, a pesar de tener que desplazarnos varios kilómetros (entre 15 y 20 minutos de trayecto).

Insgesamt kein 5 Sterne Niveau
Positiv ist die tolle Aussicht vom Zimmer aus und der Pool mit super Blick auf den Douro. Auch die Zimmer sind geräumig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Frühstück ist ebenfalls gut.

Leider weist das Hotel ansonsten einige kleinere Schönheitsfehler auf. Zunächst erscheint vieles unnötig kompliziert, z.B. darf man sich im Spa Bereich nicht einfach Handtücher nehmen, sondern bekommt ein Kärtchen, das jedes mal gegen Handtücher getauscht werden muss. Aus meiner Sicht etwas kleinlich. Vor dem Frühstück schwimmen zu gehen ist nicht möglich bzw. schwierig, da der Spa-Bereich und der Außenpool erst um 10 Uhr öffnen und es nur bis 10:30 Uhr Frühstück gibt. Die Nutzung der Aufzüge ist etwas kompliziert, vom Spa-Bereich zum Zimmer muss man 3 Aufzüge benutzen. Der Aufzug funktioniert nur, wenn man die Knöpfe mit 2 Fingern drückt, darauf macht einen aber an der Rezeption niemand aufmerksam.

Der Service ist insgesamt nicht auf 5 Sterne Niveau. Es gibt zwar viel Personal, zum Teil sind die Mitarbeiter aber eher mit sich selbst beschäftigt. Zum Beispiel sagt niemand hallo oder tschüss an der Rezeption.

Das Abendessen war gut. Die Portionen sind je nach Gericht ziemlich klein, vom Preis her aber in Ordnung (am ersten Abend haben wir zu zweit ca 70 Euro bezahlt mit 2 Vorspeisen, Hauptgang, Dessert, 2 Kaffee eine Flasche Wasser und eine Flasche Wein). Der Wein ist relativ günstig. Vom Service her gab es große Unterschiede. Zwei waren sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, ein älterer Kellner war sehr unfreundlich und unhöflich beim Bedienen. Kein einziges freundliches Wort, kein Lächeln, keine Frage wie es war und nicht mal ein tschüss, obwohl wir beim Verlassen des Restaurants direkt an ihm vorbei gelaufen sind.

Im Zimmer ist es ziemlich kühl und die Klimaanlage lässt sich nicht ausstellen. Negativ ist außerdem anzumerken, dass das Wasser in der Dusche nur lauwarm war.

Das Hotel ist von außen nicht schön, ein Betonklotz in der Landschaft. Die Gegend ist superschön, allerdings muss man beim Spaziergang sehr auf Autos aufpassen, da es oft keinen Fußgängerweg gibt.

Relax sul fiume
Posto ideale per un weekend rilassante. L'hotel è molto tranquillo, in una zona altrettanto tranquilla sul fiume Douro. Piscina esterna con una vista mozzafiato sul fiume. Forse i servizi dell'Hotel non sono proprio a livello di un 5 stelle appena inaugurato ...
