Definitely not a 4 star hotel
Our stay in this hotel was not bad at all however I expected more from 4 stars...
Pros:
- Very friendly and helpful staff!
- Close to the beach
- 2 Swimming pools
- Bar with seats next to the beach
- Train station only 10 mins away (1,5h away from Barcelona, trains are very frequent so no need to worry about catching the train on time!)
- Buffet style meals
Cons:
- The rooms are dated and look like a motel (we paid extra for our room hoping it would be exceptional - it wasn't.
The walls were cracked and the wallpaper was pilling off showing stains underneath.
Dead bugs on the ceiling in the bathroom with bloody stains...
- All inclusive doesn't mean all inclusive - you still have to pay for the food at the beach bar and for nice drinks (only very simple drinks were available in all inclusive but forget about Aperol Spritz or nice cocktails...)
- Bathroom was clean enough however it looked dated and the toilet pipe was fixed with cement! There was water leaking underneath the toilet anyway...
- Food was average - some meals were REALLY good and some were not, for example bacon had lots of bones pieces inside
- Sunbeds were all broken - had to get up carefully to not get my skin caught between the plastic bits.
Overall it was a pleasant stay however I expected more from 4 stars hotel...
If you are looking for 4 star hotel with actual 4 stars then look somewhere else however if you are not fussy then this hotel ticks the boxes.
Would suggest booking hotel stay with breakfast only and spend the rest of the day somewhere else.

Our 5th return visit to Htop Royal Sun hotel on the beach in Sunny Santa Susanna
We have been revisiting this hotel over the last 14 years. There is good reason for this, let me start by saying it is only a 3 star hotel & that is why you only pay a 3 star price for AI. However do not let that put you off. The food is exceptional and if you are a real foodie & are open to cusine from this Catalan region you will not be disappointed. Breakfast lunch and dinner is all served buffet style with so much choice at every meal everything from typical Paella to chorizo & Spanish black pudding to chicken in delicious sauces to freshly carved pork ribs. Fresh salad at every meal. Continental breakfast traditional fry up. There is of course chips and hotdogs of course if you really didn’t want to try any of the delicious offerings, but you would be mad not to give it a try! Locally produced plenty of vegetarian options you will not go hungry. Yes rooms are dated but very comfortable & clean. Location on the beach. Staff very welcoming from the start. Restaurant staff all work so hard and deserve a mention. We have eaten out on a few occasions but not found anything as nice as in the hotel. If you want a day at the shops I would recommend Caella lovely boutiques, restaurants & tapas bars. 2 stops on the train. The station is 10 min walk away & cost 5 euro return. I and I have to mention the little tourist train it was the first time we got on it this year, I won’t tell you where it goes but you won’t be disappointed so just go with it!! For 5 euros it’s 40 mins well spent. We got off it in the old square of Santa Susanna where you can find on various days a flea and antique market,

Hôtel à l'écoute et au service de ses clients
Hôtel un peu vétuste mais impeccablement propre et le personnel est aux petits soins avec les clients. Nous étions un groupe de 63 personnes dont 58 jeunes de 18 ans. Tout a été fait pour que notre séjour soit le plus agréable possible : ouverture du restaurant plus tôt ou plus tard selon nos contraintes de déplacement, mise à la disposition d'un chambre pour se changer et se rafraichir avant le retour en car, pique-nique fait en fonction des régimes alimentaires,... Le buffet est exceptionnel par sa variété, la qualité de ses mets et le réassort. Bref, un hôtel à recommander pour les groupes qui désirent séjourner près de Barcelone. Un tout grand merci à l'équipe de l'hôtel pour votre accueil.

Not good
The staff on reception was horrible and rude when we arrived we had been travelling for 4 hours with children who all had enough and just wanted to relax the man on reception made booking in hard work foe us all once we found our rooms they was dated and had funny smell in them we was given a sea view witch was the only good thing about this stay entertainment was in Spanish we are English so made it very hard to understand anything no on really spoke any English so we was made to feel left out food didn't look the best and wasn't a lot for the children to eat so we didn't eat here all in all we wouldn't stay here again it is not a 4 star hotel

The worst so called 4 star I have ever seeing. You can't give more then 2 stars to this place. Very old and smelly rooms. Very rude barman at the bar . Staff are looking at you like if you owe them a fortune. Restaurant food ok and staff in the restaurant are friendly in all fearnes. Honestly don't be fooled it's not even close to 3 star . Night entertainment isn't great and it's only in Spanish so no point to be sitting there if you don't understand what it is about. Never again.
