An Experience that exceeds expectations
Kapama Karula is one of those unexpected places that, once found, you do not want to leave.
From the moment you arrive to the last minute before leaving, everyone goes above and beyond expectations to make your experience unforgettable.
The staff in the restaurant are super fantastic - nothing is too much for them. The meals were also world-class, and the guests couldn’t stop praising them.
Many unsung heroes work behind the scenes. Without them, nothing would happen. These are the kitchen staff, housekeeping, gardeners and maintenance, and all those I have not mentioned. Everyone does more than just their job. Because of them, Karula is the jewel in the crown of the Kapama Game Reserve.
I have stayed at many lodges and done even more game drives, and the team on the safaris are one of the best, if not the best, that I have been with.
The two Ranger Guides, Justice Mashale and Sifiso Mbhungele are knowledgable about so many subjects that a game drive becomes an enlightenment session. They conveyed the information in a light-hearted way and there was not a question they couldn’t answer. And let me tell you there were many. Let us not forget the comedy. These two had us in stitches at times.
The Trackers, Vusi Mathonsi and Suggest Ngwenya are awesome at finding the animals, and their stories of nature and culture are a treasure. They would start with this serious face, but there would always be a twist to the tale somewhere.
The proficiency of the team and their attentiveness go way beyond their duties. Our coffee breaks and the cocktail sessions in the bush were a delight.
It is with a sad heart that we had to leave Kapama Karula. My guests were, and still are, over the moon and keep telling me that this trip exceeded their expectations. Let me tell you that they have travelled the world and been to many places, and Kapama Karula comes out on top.

Karula Lodge, nothing beats this lodge
Karula Lodge, There is nothing better. The lodge is spectacular in every way to say the least. From the design to the decor to the staff, it is ten out of ten. The staff, every single one of them, are from another planet, exceptional service and attention to detail. The food is a taste extravaganza. I would go back time and time again. This is bucket list stuff.

Very good hotel and location. Perfect servicing from the workers. Clean and nice smell on the bedding. The food was just out of this world. The experience was wonderful. You really don't regret spending money on them and they deserve a five star review.
