5 stars promised , 4 stars delivered
I'm gobsmacked to think that some visitors have such an elevated opinion of the Leonardo Plaza situated near King George Street Jerusalem , maybe there are two such hotels sharing the same cosmic address !!.

My wife has always wanted to visit this particular hotel , because of all the rave reviews about it , but the reality we encountered , was not the reality promised

Beyond the promise of glatt kosher " cuisine" , and the location within 100 metres of the Jerusalem Great Synagogue , there is literally nothing outstanding about this hotel , listed as a 5 star " attraction" .The room chosen for us , 2011, was next to the lifts/elevators in a hotel that barely seemed half full , just saying !!.

The food at dinner barely attained a four star rating compared with other hotels I have visited , and I found myself gorging on water melon to compensate for the lack- lustre evening desserts .Hot , fresh , Pizza at breakfast one morning , cold pizza the second , then there were the so-called fresh fruit juices (at breakfast ) , DISGUSTING !!!!- why wasn't there an orange squeezer available , so that the clientele could actually see what was going into their glasses !!.

No microwave oven for young parents to heat up baby food , no vegan food that I could see , and the food identification labels , when they were put out, looked as tired as some of the salads .
At breakfast , The hot beverage machine that churned out various versions of coffee and the like , produced various liquids that were barely tepid , and literally had to be drunk on the spot, before they became cold .

There was one shining light of sanity in the dining room , namely Ali G , the ( evening) restaurant manager , who worked with a skeleton staff of waiters ,who were masters of multi-tasking - Ali G , I salute you !!! .

No evening entertainment , NOT EVEN a solitary piano player in the lounge to lift the spirits of folk who had been fooled by the promotion of the "Old City with the Western Wall is just 15 minutes on foot from the hotel." LOL !!! - I am a strong walker , and even with angels pushing me , I would find it hard to accept THAT challenge !!!!

DO NOT ACCEPT ROOMS NUMBERED 6,8,10 OR 11 , BECAUSE OF THEIR LOCATION NEXT TO , OR ADJACENT TO THE LIFTS/ELEVATORS - don't say you weren't warned !!.

I took MANY pictures during " my " two day stay at the Leonardo Plaza , but I am posting only ONE picture , namely that of Ali -G the ( evening) dining room manager

The only place to stay in Jerusalem
The welcome was outstanding. I was greeted with gifts and wine in my room. The breakfast was an enormous buffet with the most delicious variety of foods. My room was upgraded to an outstanding view of the old city. I could just gaze at it all day. The service particularly at breakfast was wonderful. The staff could not have been more attentive and in particular Ronit the customer relations manager. I can’t wait to come back. She made my staff special

Keeps on getting better!
We’ve been here many times over the years. It just keeps on getting better and better. The room was updated and it felt like brand new furniture. The TV was bigger than ever! Breakfast was amazing, as usual. Shout out to Salah, who treated us like royalty!

La suite payée très chère ne correspond pas à ce qu’ils nous ont vendu sur leur site (1 balcon au lieu de 2, 1 salle de bain au lieu de 2, pas de minibar…etc). Après avoir souligné le problème à la réception rien n’a été fais pour corriger le problème. Grosse impression de m’être fait avoir….
Notre chambre n’a pas été faite pendant les 2 premiers jours (on s’est pourtant absenté de 8h à 20h). On a dû réclamer qu’elle soit faite le 3 eme jour et à part la couette tirée rien d’autre n’a été fait (pas de remplacement de gel douche, de dosette café, tasse salle et le petit déjeuner en room service toujours sur la table à moisir depuis 2 jours…)
Nous avons appelé le room service pour un dîner en chambre, on nous a indiqué que le restaurant allait nous rappeler pour prendre notre commande. Au bout de 45’ nous sommes partis manger ailleurs.
A part ça, la literie était très inconfortable probablement plus vielle que ma grand mère. La décoration de la chambre était aussi glauque qu’une chambre d’interrogation du KGB. La propreté était lamentable. Bâtiment sûrement le plus laid de Jérusalem. Le petit déjeuner était par contre très varié mais malgré ça les plats étaient aussi fade les uns que les autres. Pire hôtel dans lequel j’ai séjourné. A éviter de toute urgence.

Bon emplacement - belle piscine- mais pas propre
L’hôtel est bien placé
La nourriture est bonne et copieuse
Le personnel est agréable .
La piscine est belle et agréable
Le restaurant de la piscine est très bas de gamme.

Les deux problèmes de cet hôtel , c’est qu’il n’a pas été restauré depuis au moins les années 70 niveau mobilier et la propreté est négligée. Il y a des couches de poussière incroyable ( photo pour exemple) .
je n’ose imaginer le reste.
Je recommande de réservé une chambre en étage élevé pour profiter du panorama.

Un Hotelo excepcional
Estuvimos alojados 4 noches en el Leonardo Plaza y lo encontramos excepcional y muy bien situado cerca de la Puerta de Jaffa y al Mamilla Center.

Las habitaciones son amplias y tiene un restaurante magnifico con un desayuno buffete excelente; Tiene free Wi-fi de muy buena calidad.

Es una zona muy segura y en los alredededores hay Supermarkets y comercio para las compras que sean requeridas.

J arrive un samedi : le soir je dois me débrouiller pour manger . Il n y a pas de repas organisé le samedi soir à l hôtel
Bon... la chambre avec vue vieille ville effectivement m is vitres faites uniquement sur la partie supérieure(pourtant avec le coronarovirus ils ont eu du temps !)
Mini bar hors d usage et pas même une bouteille d eau pourtant promise
18 h plus de piscine qui de toute façon est à l ombre
Service en chambre rapide mais peu fourni . Je commande un plateau de fruits . Trop durs .
Petit déjeuner très mins d être digne d un 5etoiles . Décevant . Café imbuvable pour une droguee au nespresso comme moi
Bref ... je mets 3 étoiles de bonne qualité
Nullement 4 ou5 sauf au niveau du prix totalement injustifié

Estuvimos alojados 2 noches en el Leonardo Plaza y nos dejó muy conformes. Tiene una ubicación excelente. Puedes llegar en 5 minutos caminando al shopping Mamilla Center y a 10 minutos de la Puerta de Jaffa. Y desde allí a pasos de La Vía Dolorosa, el Muro de los Lamentos o el Santo Sepulcro. También se encuentra a pasos de un supermarket donde puedes adquirir lo que necesites a precios accesibles. Posee habitaciones amplias y confortables con una hermosa vista de la Ciudad Vieja. El desayuno y la cena buffet muy variados con exquisitos productos. El personal muy atento. Un hotel muy recomendable. Volvería sin dudarlo.

Espectacular ubicaciòn !!!
Estuvimos alojados 2 noches en el Leonardo Plaza. Es mas lujoso que el Leonardo Jerusalèn y tambièn posee una excelente ubicaciòn,a solo 10 minutos caminando de la Puerta de Jaffa, y de allì a pocos minutos de la Vìa Dolorosa, el Santo Sepulcro y el Muro de los Lamentos. Tambièn a 5 minutos caminando del shopping Mamilla Center. Posee habitaciones amplias y còmodas con una hermosa vista de Jerusalèn y de la Ciudad Vieja. El desayuno y la cena buffet muy buenos,variados y de excelente calidad. El personal muy esmerado y atento.Un hotel muy recommendable. Volverìa sin dudas.

Vieillissant mais top
Magnifique hôtel à tous points de vue.
Les chambres sont spacieuses et propres.
Le personnel est attentionné et professionnel.

Mes parents sont venus passer du bon temps a Jerusalem pour raison personnelles. Ils ont passé un agréable moment la bas. Je les ai rejoins et effectivement l'hotel ne mens pas il est incroyable. Je le recommande fortement. Les employés sont d'une gentillesse rare. Tout le monde est à l'écoute.

Hotel non da 5 stelle
Siamo stati qui tre notti a cavallo di capodanno.
Diciamo che non è un 5 stelle! Posizione non male. 15, 20 minuti dalle mura quindi se non si trova hotel più’ centrale questo è’ comodo!
Camere carine anche se un po’ vecchiotte!
Abbiamo cenato al ristorante alla carta, Primavera, ma davvero deludente!
Servizio poco disponile e per niente all’altezza.
Cibo davvero mediocre.

ORRIBILE.
5 stelle non ci sono proprio. Il personale alla reception è sgarbato. Racconto due episodi per far capire: appena arrivati abbiamo fatto il check in, solo dopo aver pagato ci hanno detto che la stanza non era ancora pronta. Si sono presi il numero di telefono e ci hanno detto vi contatteremo noi appena sarà pronta. Ovviamente la telefonata non è mai arrivata, noi intanto siamo usciti per girare la città, con la stanchezza e un viaggio lungo alle spalle e nessuno è venuto ad assisterci con le valigie. Le abbiamo lasciate all'ingresso con la speranza di ritrovarle al ritorno (non ce le potevamo portare in giro). Secondo episodio: abbiamo deciso di rimanere un'altra notte nell'hotel, con riluttanza, più che altro perché durante lo shabbat (il sabato degli ebrei) non era possibile muoversi in altre città, così andiamo alla reception per chiedere se c'era disponibilità, il tipo però non voleva lavorare, allora ho alzato la voce e gli ho detto: "Bello, io qua devo sapere se posso rimanere o no entro stasera, perché altrimenti prendo valigie e la mia famiglia e mi sposto in un altro hotel sicuramente meglio del vostro". Maleducati al massimo. Nella colazione c'è molta scelta, ma confusione, è tutto sporco, non sanno lavorare. La cosa bella è che in hotel a 5 stelle come si definisce non vengono MAI MAI pulite le camere e si scordano anche di mettere gli asciugamani puliti. La posizione è buona è vero, sono 900 metri dalla Jaffa Gate, ma è l'unica nota positiva in una valanga di negative

Pessimo
È un hotel che vanta 5 stelle ma in realtà non ne merita neanche 3
Personale sgarbato e non disponibile dalla reception al concierge al servizio in camera
Hotel molto sporco e vecchio di 40 anni
Bagni fatiscenti e poco funzionali
Seppur di poco posizione al di fuori del centro
Grande delusione perché il loro sito presenta un hotel completamente diverso

Best option
Prima di dare una valutazione su questo hotel, occorrerebbe testare l'accoglienza di un paio di altre strutture nella stessa zona della città, e che offrono servizi simili agli stessi prezzi.
Visitando Israele per lavoro, ho avuto opportunità di farlo, e valuto Leonardo Plaza una stella sopra gli altri.
Hotel più nuovi e con standard superiori, hanno costi proibitivi.
Per questo motivo considero Leonardo Plaza the best choice in Jerusalem.
La buona colazione e la straordinaria staff attitude, specie alla reception, compensano alcune piccole manchevolezze, dovute più che altro al fatto che l'edificio non è nuovissimo.

Non ci siamo....
Non ci siamo proprio...
Seppure l’hotel di per se non sia male, abbastanza pulito e in posizione buona per uscire a piedi, tutto il resto non è proprio all’altezza delle aspettative ne tantomeno delle stelle in suo possesso. Tanto per cominciare, la sicurezza all’ingresso dovrebbe almeno prendersi l’impegno di guardare le persone che escono in modo poi da riconoscerle al seguente ingresso, senza importunare con domande del tipo “sei armato”.... oppure...” sei ospite dell’albergo”...davvero inopportuno....la colazione scarsa e scadente...mi sembra limitante proporre solo la scelta kosher in una citta internazionale come Gerusalemme. insomma sconsiglio questo hotel a chi vuole anche trovate un po di relax.

Super Lage
Das Hotel liegt richtig toll. Man kann in die Altstadt innerhalb von 15 Minuten ohne Probleme laufen. Das Essen läßt keine Wünsche offen. Sowohl beim Frühstück als auch beim Abendessen. Sehr leckere Küche!

Arg in die Jahre gekommen
In Jerusalem gibt es passendere Hotels als diesen Hochhauskasten. Dennoch hat er auch Vorteile: alles ist sehr professionell, das Frühstück ist reichlich und wird immer frisch aufgefüllt. Allerdings werden Kaffee und Tee vom Personal nachgeschenkt, was oft nicht klappt, Man wartet ewig auf heißes Wasser. Die Zimmer sind in Ordnung, ausreichend groß, aber schon sehr abgenutzt. Vor allem im Bad sind die Gebrauchsspuren deutlich zu sehen. Die Zimmer sind sauber, die Betten in Ordung. Ich war geschäftlich dort, privat würde ich das Hotel nicht wählen.

Kleine Macken trüben Gesamteindruck
Die Lage ist wie hier schon mehrfach beschrieben wirklich gut. Kleinere Geschäfte in der Umgebung, der Weg in die Altstadt ist nicht weit. Die Begeisterung, die hier aus vielen Berichten spricht verwundert mich aber doch. Das Hotel ist ein äußerlich ziemlich hässlicher Kasten, es hat wie in Israel so oft zuletzt mehrfach die Kette gewechselt und gehört jetzt eben zu Leonardo. Je nach Lage des Zimmer weite Blicke über die Stadt möglich.
Die Einrichtung der Zimmer und der öffentlichen Bereiche ist freundlich,sauber,großzügig. Vieles ist renoviert und modernisiert, manches aber auch nicht. Bei genauerem Hinsehen finden sich zu Hauf schwarze Flecken im Bad, klemmende Schranktüren, Schrammen, schlecht schließende Fenster. Mitreisende aus meiner Gruppe hatten mehrfach Probleme mit der Zimmer-Codekarte, die immer wieder nicht funktionierte. Bei mir lief bei Ankunft das Wasser im Waschbecken nicht ab, das wurde aber realtiv rasch behoben. Das an sich sehr moderne Aufzugssystem ( 4 computergesteuerte Aufzüge) bereitet bei großem Andrang ganz erhebliche Probleme. Zur morgendlichen Abreisezeit gab es wiederholt sehr lange Wartezeiten und Stau. Und aus der 16. oder 20. Etage nimmt nicht jeder gern mit Gepäck die Treppe.
Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig im Angebot, der Service dort ist aber eher etwas schleppend. Wer Kaffee möchte muss sich schon sehr dafür einsetzen. Was man aber nach Genuss des servierten Getränkes eher bereut. Ansonsten ist die Qualität der Speisen aber recht gut! An der Rezeption spricht nicht jeder verständliches Englisch.
Das soll keine Ansammlung von Mäkeleien sein, relativiert aber meinen Gesamteindruck. Der gute Platz im hiesigen Tripadvisor-Ranking ist für mich überraschend. Ich persönlich würde es doch etwas weiter nach hinten setzen ohne es schlecht machen zu wollen.
Das Haus hat einen Außenpool und einen kleinen Fitnessraum, einige kleine Shops im Hause, eine Bar, Internet gegen Gebühr ( funktionierte aber bei meinem Aufenthalt nicht.....).
Fazit: Völlig in Ordnung, wegen einiger Macken aber nur "befriedigend"

Tolles Hotel in super Lage
Wir haben hier während unseres Jerusalem-Aufenthalts übernachtet und waren rundum zufrieden. Das Personal war zuvorkommend und der Service top. Das Hotel liegt außerhalb der Altstadt, die man jedoch in einem 10-minütigen Fußmarsch erreicht. Das Frühstück war eines der besten, das wir überhaupt jemals in einem Hotel bekommen haben.

wunderbarer Ausblick
vom 19.Stock in Richtung Sueden ueber ganz Jerusalem und Umgebung , man kann sogar die goldene Kuppel der Felsendomes sehen . Das Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich , man fuehlt sich zuhause in diesem Hotel .
Ich war als Tour leader mit einer Reisegruppe unterwegs und alle waren sehr zufrieden .
Essen gut und ausreichend , besonders das Fruehstueck am Sonntag morgen als es nach dem Shabat wieder frische Broetchen gab .
Leider Abendessen am Samstag Abend kalte Platten wegen Shabat , was wir auch mit Verstaendniss aufgenommen haben . Nur der Aufschnitt war leider zu wenig und wurde nicht mehr aufgefuellt .
Wir werden gerne wieder im Leonardo Plaza uebernachten .
