What types of beds will I find in the room I booked?The type of bed is usually specified in the room sheet. If you have any special requests or needs you can indicate them at the time of booking by writing them in the "special requests" field which will be forwarded directly to the property. In this process MeTour is not responsible.
- What is Paga in Structural and what are Payment Pre-Authorisations?
When you book, some facilities offer the possibility of paying directly at the facility. In these cases you will simply be asked to insert your credit (or debit) card to guarantee the booking, but without any charge. The sum will be taken from your credit card only in the cases provided for by the policies and conditions relating to your booking. In other cases, when the Partner does not adopt automatic availability and booking systems, but confirms reservations "manually", then you will be asked to insert your credit (or debit) card to guarantee the reservation, and then be directly charged at the same time as the Partner confirms the booking (within 24-48 hours). At that moment you will receive an email with the booking confirmation and payment.

How do I know if my card has been pre-authorized?By consulting your credit card balance you will see that your available balance will be temporarily reduced by the amount of your booking. Top ratings are not necessarily true. Frightening experience with the owner.
Extremely rude owner. We arrived early and were not even allowed to enter the gate to park our car (so that we could take a walk as suggested at their website), but were told only to come back for check in at 3 pm. 2 pm we received an email with the code for the gate, when we came at 2:30 nobody was at the reception. My wife called and the owner shouted after her “you do not respect rules, I told your husband already not to come before 3pm!” We decided not to check in and hope the owner uses our prepaid money for a therapy.
We run ourselves a 50 bed resort. This behaviour is simply a no-go. We did choose them because of their good ratings…

De l’authentique, du beau et de la verdure
On est très bien accueillis dans cet établissement au milieux des collines. Les chambres sont superbement équipées avec une décoration soignée.
Les espaces communs sont immenses et des œuvres d’art sont exposées un peu partout. la piscine intérieure est magnifique et c’est top pour les enfants.
Le petit dej est copieux. Bref on y est bien!

Un paraíso
Una estancia idílica. El entorno en esta época está precioso, verde y florido. Cerca tanto de la playa como de la sierra.
Los pueblos más cercanos, Castro Marim y Villareal son muy bonitos, para visitar y comer por allí.
El cariño que Alejandro y Susana han volcado en este proyecto te envuelve desde que llegas. Las habitaciones, el Spa, cocina, salón, terraza... cuidan hasta el mínimo detalle, que hacen que te sientas como en casa.
Totalmente recomendable tanto para disfrutar en pareja como en familia.
Cabe destacar el desayuno, muy variado, todo delicioso y casero.
Volveremos sin duda.
Los pueblos más cercanos, Castro Marim y Villareal son muy bonitos, para visitar y comer por allí.

A haven to escape from stress
Booked at the last minute after our original B&B found builders had unexpectedly moved in to renovate their next-door neighbour! We felt sorry for the B&B's owners, but not for ourselves as we landed in this beautiful eco-hotel. Small (9 rooms) and intimate, run by a very kind and welcoming couple (Alexander & Susana) and their delightful friend Ana.
A series of interesting rooms - from comfortable doubles to larger more luxurious rooms with well-fitted bathrooms and even a couple with hot tubs! Very comfortable (large) beds and good showers. Eco-friendly products.
Set into a hilltop landscape, the building is modern and smart. It includes an indoor pool, sauna, steam room and gym area, plus an outside pool. Many places to sit and sunbathe or stay in the shade. Several hammocks :-)
Lovely breakfast with local products and good coffee. Close to excellent restaurants. 15 minutes from the fabulous and less crowded Eastern Algarve beaches and the beauty of the Ria Formosa - 35 km of islands, channels and waterways.
A garden of flowers, trees and herbs with oranges. Several goats and a donkey.
In short, a quiet, peaceful place to retreat from noise, stress and work (although it does have decent wifi if you must be digital).

Vorsicht in der Nebensaison: erst gucken, in Dich gehen und erst dann für oder gegen eine Buchung entscheiden
Es handelt sich nicht um ein Hotel sondern um ein B&B. Es gibt kein Restaurant, und ob es eine Bar gibt, ist nicht dokumentiert.
Wir haben am 4. November 2021 nachmittags eine Buchung für 6. bis 12. November via booking.com gemacht.
Als wir am 6. November 12:30 Uhr dort eintrafen (dank Umweg via Rio Seco empfanden wir uns irgendwo im Nirgendwo), waren zwar zwei Autos auf dem Parkplatz, aber niemand in Sicht. Es war halt ein recht kalter, windiger Tag, und die Liegenschaft oben auf einem Hügel. Der Garten war noch zu jung, um im November geschützte Ecken anzubieten, nicht mal für Hund und Katz.
Links vom Eingang war eine Schlüsselcodetastatur mit Fingerscanner, aber die Türe war gar nicht verriegelt, so traten wir also ein.
Auf unser "Halloooo" erhielten wir keine Antwort. Weder Mensch noch Hund oder Katze kam uns entgegen. Totenstille. Auf einer Tafel stand, dass das Checkin ab 14 Uhr erfolgt. Pffft (ja, eben : kein Hotel).
Wir spähten um die Ecken, "Hallooo", nix. So weit wir sehen konnten (wir spatzierten nicht im Haus umher) war alles mit zeitgenössischer Kunst ausgestattet (oder überladen, wie man will). Und alles blitzblanksauber - kalt vor lauter Sterilität! Als staubige Wanderer und Gärtner sahen wir nichts für unsere Wellenlänge; namentlich auch kein Hotelrestaurant. Wir fühlten uns wirklich unbehaglich und nicht willkommen.
Wir entschieden, die Zeit extern in einem Restaurant abzuwarten.
Das nächste, beeindruckende Restaurant "Dom Rodrigo" war aus irgendeinem Grund zu. Uns beschlich die Ahnung, dass hier "auf dem Land" Saisonschluss war. Also runter ans Meer.
Ja, unten in Altura konnte man zwischen verschiedenen, auch nicht-portugiesischen Restaurants wählen. Während wir eine Kleinigkeit assen, fanden wir heraus, dass wir beide das Monte do Malhão als UNHEIMLICH empfanden. Noch während dem Essen stornierte ich deshalb die Buchung dort und wir fuhren auch nicht wieder hin, sondern konzentrierten uns auf das Finden einer Alternative.
Leider gewährte uns Monte Do Malhao absolut keine Kulanz; der Gesamtbetrag für die sechs Tage von 666 Euro wurde meiner Kreditkarte belastet, notabene eine Zahl, die in abergläubischen Kreisen mit dem Teufel in Verbindung gebracht wird.
Ok, ich bin vielleicht ein schlechter Verlierer, aber welche Qualität hat Monte do Malhão als Gastgeber wirklich?
