São Lourenço do Barrocal

Man erwartet diese Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit nicht, aber Sao Lourenco ist der absolute Platz, um runter zu kommen und abzuschalten. Der Ort atmet mehr als 200 Jahre schwerer Arbeit und Fron. 2002 mit der Fertigstellung des nahegelegenen Stausees fassten die Inhaber der 8. Generation den Entschluss daraus ein besonderes Refugium zu machen. Platz gibt es genug und so weiß man nie, ob die 40 Zimmer ausgebucht sind oder nicht. Lediglich bei schlechterem Wetter kann es beim Frühstück mal etwas enger werden. Der Ort hat eine besondere Magie. Nicht weit steht ein Hinkelstein, den Obelix vergessen hat und ein Olivenbaum, der noch aus Zeiten von Christi Geburt berichten kann. Monsaraz war lange von Mauren bewohnt und ist erst im Zuge der Reconquista im 13. Jahrhundert christlich geworden. Man sieht den Ort in ca. 5 KM Entfernung.
Selten so nettes und offenes Personal in einem Hotel erlebt. Der Gast steht absolut im Mittelpunkt und man spürt die Freude der Mitarbeiter, wenn es Ihnen gelungen ist, wieder einmal einen Gast glücklich zu machen. Da nicht alle Englisch können gibt es Kurse für alle Mitarbeiter, auch für den Zimmerservice.
Auch die Küche ist in der Lage von ihrem Programm abzuweichen und im Sommer schwärmen alle von der Sommerküche neben dem Pool. Die Zutaten kommen direkt aus dem Garten. Im Winter kann man die Orangen oder Zitronen selbst pflücken und genießen. Auch die Weine sind, egal ob rot oder weiß, sehr gut. Wir haben sehr viel Flexibilität und Hilfsbereitschaft erlebt und kein normales Hotel der Leading Klasse, vielmehr einen Ort, der durch das Engagement seiner Mitarbeiter zu etwas ganz Besonderem wird.

Dieses Hotel bietet ein herausragendes Landerlebnis im Herzen des Alentejo. Das riesige Grundstück wird von schönster Landschaft geprägt, insbesondere im Frühling. Die Wiesen sind dann auch im Alentejo grün und voller Wildblumen. Mit den verfügbaren Mountain Bikes kann man auf dem eigenen Hotelgelände herrliche Touren unternehmen, mit Blick auf Monsaraz und den Alqueva-Stausee. Auch prähistorische Dolmen sind zu finden.
Die Zimmer des Hotels sind schlicht, aber sehr wertig und stilvoll und ortstypisch möbliert. Der Gast erhält ein Büchlein mit dem A-Z des Hotels ausgehändigt, dass sowohl die Geschichte des Hotels als auch die möglichen Aktivitäten detailliert und liebevoll beschreibt.
Schöner SPA-Bereich, geschmackvoll in die alten Hofgebäude integriert. Gute Küche - nicht überzogen fein, sondern landestypisch und schmackhaft. Sennsationeller Poolbereich mit großzügiger Wiese. Einziger Wermutstropfen: Wasser im Frühling auch an warmen Sonnentagen sehr kalt, da nicht beheizt.
Schöner Shop im Hotel, der allerdings so hohe Aufschläge auf die eigentlichen Einzelhandelspreise der Produkte nimmt, dass es mich schon etwas ärgerte: Ein Monocle-Buch über Portugal zum doppelten Internet-Preis; einige Kleidungsstücke mit einem prozentual ebenfalls hohen Aufschlag.
Gästemix: Über Ostern viele wohlhabende portugiesische Familien, dazu US-Amerikaner sowie Spanier, Franzosen und Engländer, eher wenige Deutsche.

La propriété est magnifique, remplie de cachet et d’histoire!
Cependant, nous avons trouvé la prestation un peu cher pour la qualité des équipements fournis, spécialement en ce qui concerne la literie qui est de piètre qualité (spécialement les coussins) et la douche qui n’était pas utilisable de manière agréable. Ceci a été dit lors de notre premier jour mais rien a été fait pour améliorer cette situation.
C’est dommage mais nous reviendrons quand même!
N’oubliez pas de visiter l’adorable petit village de Monsarraz si vous êtes dans la région!

Questo hotel di circa 40 camere è un ottimo posto per rilassarsi nella bella regione portoghese dell’Alentejo; abbiamo trascorso qui 4 notti.
Ottima la camera di grandi dimensioni, ricavata negli antichi locali del villaggio agricolo, minimalista ma molto chic, con bagno enorme e due verande, tranquilla e con vista sui vigneti e sul borgo di Monsaraz, opportunamente preparata per i soci “Tle Leading Hotels of the World” già al nostro arrivo.
Siamo in una tenuta circondata da ettari di terreno con vigneti, olivi, frutteto, orto biologico, aree con mucche ed altri animali.
Ci sono spazi grandissimi per poter fare belle passeggiate, andare in bicicletta o a cavallo e passare tempo all’aria aperta, e regna ovunque una grande pace.
La colazione è ottima, preparata utilizzando perlopiù prodotti della tenuta, e comunque con materie prima dell’Alentejo, cosa che apprezziamo moltissimo.
Abbiamo trovato ottima anche l’unica cena consumata in hotel.
Le due piscine, inserite in un’area enorme, sono misteriosamente piuttosto piccole…chissà perché!
Merenda pomeridiana complimentary servita nel bel bar, con prodotti appena sfornati.
Turndown serale attento con acqua e biscotti diversi ogni giorno.
Si sta molto bene ed il posto è davvero bello, sebbene ci sia da fare qualche appunto sul servizio che, benché volonteroso ed estremamente cortese, non raggiunge il livello eccellente che ci si aspetta da un 5 stelle che ambisce a posizionarsi ai massimi livelli, considerando anche il prezzo decisamente elevato per il Portogallo: ci sono state dimenticanze evitabili e piccoli disguidi, un po' di confusione negli ordini presi a colazione (piuttosto tipico in Portogallo…) ed un (quasi) efficiente numero WhatsApp per le richieste al Concierge: niente di grave ma la perfezione è un’altra cosa.

Strutturato ubicata in un contesto meraviglioso; gli unici rumori erano il cinguettio degli uccelli.
Spa molto professionale.
Ristorante di buon livello con ottimo servizio.
Migliorabile la colazione, servizio troppo confuso e inesperto.

L'hôtel est situé dans un cadre idyllique des vastes prairies verdoyantes où paissent des vaches en liberté et des chevaux.

Les chambres sont grandes et reposantes.

Le site est propice à la promenade à pied, à vélo ou à cheval.

Mais le plus frappant est la qualité de service,digne d'un vrai 5 étoiles.

Le personnel est aux petits soins,souriant et très efficace.

Exemple:En arrivant à l'hôtel,je me suis aperçu qu'un des pneus de ma voiture de location était complètement dégonflé avec voyant allumé.Il n y a pas de station service à proximité.La personne à l'accueil m'a simplement demandé avec le sourire les clés du véhicule et m'a rappelé peu après pour me dire qu'ils avaient regonflé le pneu,éteint le voyant et géré le problème,sans facturation
particulière.

Hôtel très haut de gamme à recommander.

Faisant partie d'un Groupe assez important dans le cadre d'une manifestation comprenant, pour certains, un vol en Montgolfière, il semble que le seul établissement à proximité du lieu de l'activité avec le nombre de chambres nécessaires était celui là. Malgré une négociation du prix, peu d'efforts ont été acceptés.
Chambres et salle de bains superbes avec une literie très confortable. Une critique toutefois sur la télévision ne proposant même pas une seule chaine française (BFM TV - France 24 etc....) les chaines en Français d'information étant pourtant disponibles chez tous les fournisseurs locaux de programmes TV par câble ou Satellite.......Une 1/2 bouteille d'eau dans la chambre seulement et pas de mini-bar.
Autre remarque sur l'apéritif commandé pour le Groupe avec toutes les boissons payantes hors le vin (4,50 € un jus d'orange et bien plus pour les alcools) L'un de nos membres avait amené 2 bouteilles de grands vins et souhaitait les ouvrir pour nous les faire goûter. Refus immédiat sauf règlement d'un droit de bouchon !!!
Le tarif avait cependant était négocié avec l'apéritif (vins compris) et le repas à suivre (vin compris). Attitude mesquine et anti commerciale ne donnant pas envie aux membres du Groupe de conseiller cette halte à leurs relations !
Un point fort par contre avec le petit déjeuner dont le buffet est constitué de produits locaux, bio et de grande qualité. C'est un vrai plus qui nous a fait un peu oublier le reste.

Nous sommes sincèrement désolés que vous n'ayez pas vu pendant votre séjour que nous placions au moment du check-in quatre demi-bouteilles d'eau (plate et gazeuse) et que celles-ci étaient renouvelées en fin de journée au moment du passage de notre équipe housekeeping.
Nous comprenons également que vous ayez regretté un certain manque de souplesse quant aux coûts de nos prestations. Le haut niveau ce celles-ci nous en empêche. Nous prenons toutefois bonne note de toutes vos remarques, notre souhait étant de toujours faire le meilleur pour nos hôtes.
Enfin, nous vous assurons que nous communiquerons plus clairement nos chaines disponibles et notamment les chaines françaises à disposition dans nos chambres.
Nous espérons avoir le plaisir de vous accueillir à nouveau et restons à votre entière disposition pour toute information complémentaire.

Man kommt auf das Grundstück und hat das Gefühl in einer Traumwelt zu sein. Alles um einen herum wirkt perfekt. Die Freundlichkeit der Menschen ist der Wahnsinn. Alle sind sehr hilfsbereit und lesen jeden Wunsch ab. Das Gelände ist mit so viel liebe hergerichtet und dekoriert. Den Pferden geht es unheimlich gut und sie werden jeden Tag gepflegt. Das Restaurant bietet sensationelles essen an und der Spa Bereich sowie die Anwendungen waren erstklassig. Wir waren vier Tage an diesem schönen Ort und träumen bereits von unserem nächsten Aufenthalt. Ein absolutes muss um durchzuatmen und abzuschalten. Barrocal ist ein perfekter Ort. So etwas wunderschönes haben wir noch nie zuvor erleben dürfen. Bis ganz bald. T&B

Wir verbrachten anlässlich einer Portugal Rundreise 4 Tage hier.

Eine große sehr schöne Anlage, die zahlreiche verschiedene Zimmer und Suiten bietet.

Unser Farmhouse Zimmer war wunderbar groß und trotz gemütlich und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Badezimmer ebenfalls sehr groß mit Badewanne, großer Dusche und Doppelwaschbecken. Zum hinteren Bereich hinaus hatten wir eine Terrasse.

Der Poolbereich mit 2 unterschiedlichen Pools liegt sehr ruhig und idyllisch ca 200 Meter von den eigentlichen Zimmern entfernt - eine eigene Bar mit kleinem Lunchbereich gehört dazu.

Das Frühstücksbüffet morgens bietet sehr schmackhaft und hochwertig alles was das Herz begehrt - inklusive hauseigenem Schinken, selbstgemachte Brote, Kuchen, Marmeladen - sehr gut!

Wir waren abends bietet 3 x im Restaurant und haben am Samstag am Barbecue inkl Livemusik teilgenommen. Alle Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichte waren herausragend! Ceviche, Ochsenschwanz, Bäckchen vom schwarzen Schwein oder Fisch. Alles topp Qualität und mit Raffinesse zubereitet.

Das ganze wurde durch einen jederzeit topp Service unterstützt.

Wir haben uns 4 Tage wie im Paradies gefühlt - danke für einen tollen und gelungenen Aufenthalt!!!

Ho noleggiato un auto da Lisbona e ho trascorso un paio di notti in questo luogo incantevole, sotto il paesino di Monsaraz. Si tratta di un borghetto nel mezzo della campagna della regione dell'Alentejo, tra vigne e relax allo stato puro. Ristrutturato dall'archistar portoghese João Gomes da Silva, nel totale rispetto dell'ambiente. Uno dei posti più incantevoli dove io abbia mai soggiornato: il ristorante raffinatissimo, l'area piscina un incanto..la natura circostante, l'atmosfera rurale ma chic al tempo stesso, tra vigneti, ulivi. Colazione e cena da favola. Un incanto!

Que difícil es encontrar la perfección y el amor por el mimo al detalle, pero quizás en este lugar “ diferente” se den esa mezcla improbable de cuidado de todos los pequeños detalles, que hacen un hotel/restaurante/viñedo algo grande!
Pues es así, desde nuestra llegada, sentimos que estábamos llegando a un lugar donde nada estaba dejado al azahar.
Lo primero que te sorprende son las enormes dimensiones de todo, el terreno, los edificios, las habitaciones!!! ( que difícil nos va a ser volver a los metros estándares de las ciudades ). Si a eso le sumas, la extrema impoluta de cada espacio, la simpatía de todos los trabajadores, la elegancia con l que han sabido mantener la decoración de la zona, adaptándose a la actualidad de forma natural.
Esas piscinas, ese paseo en bici con un atardecer de película, esa cama extra King size, las toallas, los jabones, los albornoces, el aceite!!! Todo es de una calidad extrema, que me hace puntuar este hotel con un 9,5 que para mi es lo más cercano a estar todo perfecto.
Quizás les falte un poco de personal en el restaurante de noche, sellar un poco mejor la ducha ( madre mía que alegria de presión ), y poco más, porque todo está perfecto, y se encargan de hacerte recordar que aquí estás para disfrutar y ser atendido!
Muy muy muy bien!!!
Entre la campiña francesa, el monocle inglés( esas casas, esas maderas, esos tejidos... te dan ganas de llevártelos todos, y de hecho te dan opción en una tienda súper cool donde eso si, los precios son extremadamente caros. Dejando claro, que ellos saben lo que tienen y el tipo de clientes que tienen... )
En definitiva un sueño hecho realidad.
Eso si, un sueño caliente, porque es una zona con mucho calor y muy seca en agosto!!
La felicidad era esto!

Das Hotel liegt in der Nähe von Monsaraz (sehr lohnenswerter Besuch) und ist in einem ehemaligen riesigen Landgut. Die alten Strukturen der Anlage sind gut zu sehen und erleben. Die Zimmer verdienen 5*. Unsere Suite war über 90m2 und sehr gut und wertig ausgestattet. Es fehlt an nichts. Der Empfang ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Gratwanderung von authentisch und doch modernem Komfort gelingt ganz gut. Die Gastronomie hat noch einiges Verbesserungspotenzial. Das Angebot ist ok, die Küche ländlich geprägt. Das Personal benötigt noch etwas Training in Professionalität und natürlicher Aufmerksamkeit. Die Weinkarte ist eher bescheiden.

Nos lo recomendaron y no nos defraudó. Ambiente estupendo, comida bien elaborada a un precio razonable. Un marco 5*. Y atendidos de forma increíble. Un diez. Buen complemento de nuestra visita a Monsaraz.

Très bel établissement, accueil aimable et chaleureux L’ancienne ferme est restaurée avec beaucoup de gout et de charme ! Très belles balades à vélo ou à pied dans le domaine, oliviers, vignes, troupeaux, chevaux tout y est.Dejener extra. Belle étape Proche de Monsaraz, village typique.

Está muy bien cuidado, es ideal para alquilar una casita y pasar unos días con los niños. Estas casas están muy bien equipadas con buena cocina, salón y buenos cuartos de dormir. Alrededor del hotel también hay excursiones divertidas y en verano la piscina es grande y muy agradable.

Un luogo restaurato con gusto, conservativo esteriormente e moderno negli interni, dà carattere essenziale e importante al complesso di edifici storici. Lo spazio non manca certo, né nelle camere né nei bagni, tantomeno all'esterno dove è davvero sconfinato. Siamo giunti sul far della sera e ci siamo concessi un bagno nella solitaria e distante piscina, più che altro una vasca inserita nel paesaggio. Colazione ricca e abbondante di prodotti locali salati e dolci. Da provare anche il ristorante per cena con piatti della tradizione neanche troppo rivisitati e del gran vino di produzione propria

...siamo stati invitati ad un matrimonio ad Ottobre...
Da Lisbona abbiamo noleggiato un auto e in un paio d'ore di paesaggi naturali incontaminati siamo giunti in questo paradiso...
Una location da favola con ulivi, alberi da sughero, mandrie di cavalli liberi...
Il personale di questo antico borgo restaurato rispecchia l'anima del luogo, confortevole, una pace dei sensi indescrivibile.
Colazione e cibo imparagonabili con qualsiasi altra mia esperienza di viaggio.
Favoloso per un matrimonio da favola.

Une nuit seulement et c'était trop peu !! Endroit superbe, atypique, calme avec le soir une vue hallucinante sur la Voie lactée. Allez y vous serez au bout du monde loin de tout mais dans un cocon. Mention spéciale pour le breakfast.
