- What is Paga in Structural and what are Payment Pre-Authorisations?

Mercury has more atmosphere
We picked this location as we were going to a music festival nearby and taking odd days to explore the area…in between we were hoping to chill by the pool. How disappointed were.
The plastic tree that greets you in the reception, is a pretty good representation of what you are going to get…Fake, this place is soulless and fake, but what makes it worse, it’s “tired fake”.
From the dirty grubby carpets and chairs, black scuff marks on the once clean white walls and the cheap Italian style melamine furniture now chipped exposing its self for what it really is .. cheap coated chipboard.
The first night we booked a table for dinner, on our way out we thought we’d have a drink in the bar first. The bar was empty of customers and bar staff so we made our way to the restaurant.
The food was so bad it was comical.
The tenderloin I ordered was so tough it should have been served with a chainsaw on the side.
Breakfast the next morning was the same odd, awkward experience.
But one thing we did realise they were actually other people staying at the hotel, not couples as you’d expect in a spa hotel but large families with lots of kids.
We made our way out for the day. On our return we thought we we have a few hours buy the pool, .not possible, the pool was full of screaming children.
So next option, sit on the balcony with a drink.. the balcony walls had black mold on them and the wooden deck was almost rotten and didn’t feel safe.
Anyway below you had more screaming kids playing ball games.
The 2nd morning we woke up and noticed that the 2 coffee pods that we had on the first morning hadn’t been replaced, I asked at reception on the way out and was told I need to pay an extra 1€ per pod after the first night.?
Also the shower gel and shampoo were not replenished after the 3rd day I had to go to reception again and ask for them.
I could go on… basically this place made us miserable, so miserable we changed our flight home at extra cost and checked out 2 days earlier than we were booked in for, losing the money for those last 2 nights.
I would not recommend staying here.

NO TV OR INTERNET
After reading the comments, I realized that AT LEAST since August 21 the TV AND INTERNET ARE NOT AVAILABLE at this hotel. The staff lies about it saying its temporary and 2 days later still nothing!!
They set us up in a room for the dissabled, no chairs in the room (plus no tv or net) which made us feel very unconfortable in the room.
Congrats to the restaurant staff, the food at dinner was amazing and they were quick and nice. Breaksast wasn’t plentiful but enough and overall nice.

Not Recommended - Better options around
Unfortunately the conditions of the hotel are unacceptable for a 4star hotel. The outside deck is all broken, the inside carpet is dirty, the TV doesn't work, the pool is lacking maintenance, theres no place to hang the towels in wc and the curtains are falling. Year after year the situation as getting worse and for sure this is our last visit. The only point positive is the staff.

Expérience difficile limite contentieux / Experencia dificil com risco de ter que ir a tribunal
Réservation effectuée le 25 mai de 6 chambres avec possibilité d'annuler jusqu'à 72h avant sans frais + annulation le 27 juin soit plus d'un mois avant le séjour : réponse de l'hôtel = changement de gérance donc remboursement à demander à l'ancienne gérance ???
La nouvelle gérance a conservé les réservations effectuées pendant l'ancienne gérance mais n'assume pas les conditions d'annulation et m'a même conseillé de prendre un avocat car il s'agit tout de même de 750€ à récupérer. C'est scandaleux !!! Nous y avions déjeuné il y a 2 ans pour tester la qualité du restaurant et déjà une petite alerte quand nous avons demandé à ce que le poulpe soit un peu plus cuit car en partie cru. Le plat est reparti en cuisine et au retour : le chef ne veut pas cuire davantage c'est ainsi qu'il faut le manger...
La prochaine fois j'utilise booking avec qui les garanties sont claires et toujours respectées. J'ai pensé que réserver directement via l'hôtel leur était plus favorable dans la situation sanitaire actuelle, mal m'en a pris !!!
Infelizmente estou a viver uma situaçao dificil com esse hotel : reserva de 6 quartos no 25 de maio com possibiliadade de cancelamento ate 72 horas antes da estadia (31 de julho). Cancelamento no 27 de junho e pedido de devoluçao dos 750€ pagos e até hoje nada : a nova gerencia considera que nao deve pagar mais que vai informar a antiga gerencia. Quando é que a nova gerencia informou os clientes da mudança de gerencia e das condiçoes em caso de cancelamento ? NUNCA !!! Por essa razao se decidiram ficar com com as reservas efetuadas durante a antiga gerencia tambem se responsabilisam em caso de cancelamento dessas reservas : nao podem assumir so uma parte das condiçoes. Nunca nos aconteceu uma situaçao destas !!!! Considerei reservar diretamente com o hotel em vez de Booking para lhes ser mais favoravel na situaçao sanitaria atual, fiz muito mal !!!

Moderate stay but nice view

We think the hotel needs more travelers to keep maintenance in order . Airco does not work properly .chair on the balcony almost broken abs also a lamp in our room.
Dinner was great. Bar was closed. Even the restaurant on one of the evenings . Ponte da Barca can be reached only by car or taxi but nice to wat there
