-
Are the prices always the same even if the date changes?Prices vary based on various factors which may be seasonal, day of the week, occupancy status of the hotel, promotions, particular fairs in the city and more. The advice, to see the prices, is to enter the dates of your stay and make your own comparisons.
-
Is breakfast always included? No, it depends on the rate and whether the structure is organized to offer it or not. Check carefully before booking what is included and what is not and what type of service is offered.
-
Can I make special requests?Of course, when booking you will have a field where you can write directly to the property and make your requests. These will be evaluated by the Hotel who will respond directly to you. MeTour is not responsible in this decision-making process.
-
What types of beds will I find in the room I booked? The type of bed is usually specified in the room sheet. If you have any special requests or needs you can indicate them at the time of booking by writing them in the "special requests" field which will be forwarded directly to the property. In this process MeTour is not responsible.
- What is Paga in Structural and what are Payment Pre-Authorisations?
When you book, some facilities offer the possibility of paying directly at the facility. In these cases you will simply be asked to insert your credit (or debit) card to guarantee the booking, but without any charge. The sum will be taken from your credit card only in the cases provided for by the policies and conditions relating to your booking. In other cases, when the Partner does not adopt automatic availability and booking systems, but confirms reservations "manually", then you will be asked to insert your credit (or debit) card to guarantee the reservation, and then be directly charged at the same time as the Partner confirms the booking (within 24-48 hours). At that moment you will receive an email with the booking confirmation and payment.
-
How do I know if my card has been pre-authorized?By consulting your credit card balance you will see that your available balance will be temporarily reduced by the amount of your booking. In other cases and depending on the policy of your credit card circuit, you may also find an entry in the monthly summary of card movements: "pending operation". The pre-authorization block, depending on the situation, will be maintained according to the policies and terms and conditions of what has been booked.
-
How can I cancel or change my booking?Easy, enter the customer area with your credentials and from there you can modify or cancel your booking. Remember that changing dates or canceling with a refund request depends on the rate you chose when booking.
-
Can I transfer my reservation to another person? For this request, contact the property directly which may have a specific policy in this regard or may need further data on the person to whom you want to transfer the booking.
-
How can I get help with my booking?Enter the customer area with your credentials and from there you can contact us or by writing through our contact form specifying your booking number and the reason for the contact request. We recommend that you also leave a telephone number where you can be reached in case of need.
-
Are there taxes, local charges or extras to be paid directly on site? They are normally clearly indicated in the property sheet or added during the booking phase depending on local regulations or the facility's policies. But even if not clearly indicated, payments may be requested directly to the facility for any tourist taxes, local charges or extras not included in the rate. The advice is to read everything carefully before booking or writing to us through our contact form.
-
Are small pets allowed? It is often clearly stated in the property sheet and for this reason we invite you to carefully read their policies. Where not indicated, we invite you to contact us through our contact form for more information.

Old school glamour and an absolute delight
It was our first time staying at The Gore, and it didn't disappoint. The staff were all welcoming and friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. We got an upgrade on our room, which was nice and appropriate as from the window of our new room we could see the Royal Albert Hall where we were going that evening. On a plus note as well, the window to the room opened the whole way, which is always a nice surprise!
When booking, they had asked if we were marking an occasion, and as I turned 40 this year and have decided to treat myself throughout the year, I told them that. On arrival, we were presented with a complimentary bottle of prosecco and a beautiful little cake that was absolutely delicious!!! They didn't have to do that, but it made the stay even more special.
After our performance, we went back to the hotel and had a drink in the bar and went and ordered some room service. That was the only slightly disappointing thing about the stay. Granted, it was late (10.45pm) but the menu in the room advised that the Night menu was available from 9pm until 7am, but it was only soup or salad available, but we made the best of it, the cauliflower soup was delicious and we went and grabbed a pizza from a delicious takeaway that was open till midnight and was about a 10 minute walk away.
We had the full English breakfast in the restaurant in the morning, which was lovely and again, the staff were so nice. Check out was fine, and the same member of staff was on reception as had checked us in, so it was nice to say a proper thank you to her for everything the day before.
It was our first time staying here, but I guarantee it won't be our last.
The hotel is located round the corner from The Royal Albert Hall, plus museums on Exhibition Road. There's no parking, but we arranged some through Just Park in the car park of a nearby apartment building that was only 10 minutes walk away.

Sad, dark, and service charges! Needs work.
Expected something a bit different from this "classic" good looking, from outside, Hotel, unfortunately it wasn't good different.
On check in i noticed that on the sign in paper given to me there was a note about adding a service charge to the cost of the stay which i queried to be told it was standard pratice in London Hotels, never seen that before, and that i could ask for it to be taken off when paying. I note that others have been 'caught out' here on other reviews.. When signing for drinks later at the bar i failed to notice this service charge was also added and mentioned this on checkout, would i have been charged a service charge on that service charge! It's not a good thing to especially as it seems discretionary. Slightly disingenuous i'd say.
Ladies loo on ground floortoilet seat was loose and at an angle and the decor needed work.
Room on the 4th floor was smaller than expected, decor very poorly maintained, including furniture, bathroom door catching on frame at bottom so hard to close and harder to open. left hand wardrobe door dragging badly on carpet, so hard to open and marking carpet. Not many electrical sockets and no USB outlets. Curtains thin so let morning light through easily, not great for sleeping in. The showe looked really nice, decent sized enclosure, unfortunately the water pressure was abysmal.
We visited the Bar one evening for a nightcap and the lighting was very poor, dark and it was dimmed even more after a while. If you'rer making a point about the significance of the bar (the Rolling Stones visited) why wouldn't you show it off, unless it needs work.
It is a pity as the hotel is in a great location being just behind the Royal Albert Hall but from what we experienced we would not return.

Beware hidden charges
Lovely hotel- pricing in the luxury range. We booked through booking.com and were advised that all charges and taxes were included. On checkout we were charged an extra 5% ‘room service charge’ and £7.50 per day for breakfast service . On questioning we were told it was ‘discretionary’ but it’s very difficult to decline when the charge is already on the bill- I’d have thought that for £300+ a night the cleaning of the room would have been included. Just something to be aware of.
Dear Aluapenna,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you found our Victorian hotel lovely, though we regret that your experience was marred by the unexpected charges. We sincerely apologise for any confusion, however, please allow us to explain.
At our hotel, we aim to be as transparent as possible about all charges and we are sorry that you felt that this was not clear. The accommodation service charge at 5% is listed in all our terms & conditions and email confirmations, both directly and through all online booking platforms. It is also noted on your registration card, which you signed upon check-in. The food & beverage service charge at 12.5% is also listed on all our menus and literature (including our breakfast menu for guests who have breakfast included).
Both service charges are a professional practices that are very common-place in the London hotel market. The food & beverage service charge is very established and the accommodation service charge becoming increasingly normal amongst London hotels. Both service charges go fully to the team (not just for the Housekeeping team as you state) and are entirely discretionary; should you wish not to incentivise our hardworking staff, we shall have no issue whatsoever in removing them.
Your feedback is invaluable to us and we will take it into consideration as we continue to improve our guest experience. We hope you will give us another opportunity to welcome you back and provide the flawless stay we aim for.

Beautiful hotel and outstanding service
Booked The Gore for a short stay in London after a wedding in England. Was delighted to find after buying tickets for the Royal Albert Hall that The Gore is literally walking distance from the venue. The room was really pretty although a little small. The service was fantastic. Beautiful location although not super close to restaurants (other than their own) or shopping. Nonetheless it was a beautiful neighborhood and stay, and we found a fantastic pub close by. Breakfast was very good in super pretty room. All public areas are pretty. We will definitely return!
Dear DebsterBaby,
Thank you for your wonderful review! We are delighted to hear that you had a lovely stay with us after your wedding celebration and enjoyed our convenient location near the Royal Albert Hall. It is great to know you appreciated the charm of our rooms and the outstanding service from our amazing team.
While our neighbourhood may be a little quieter in terms of dining and shopping options, we are glad you found a fantastic pub nearby (there are a few really good ones to choose from)! We are thrilled that the beautiful atmosphere of our Victorian hotel made your stay special, from breakfast to the public areas.
We look forward to welcoming you back to The Gore for another memorable stay soon!

A superb hotel just around the corner from the Royal Albert Hall
Friendly and impeccable service, beautiful room and a delicious breakfast. We had dinner in the 190 restaurant on the Friday evening prior to the Promenade Concert. Superb food and more excellent service. This was our third time staying at the Gore and we will certainly be back.
