  • What is Paga in Structural and what are Payment Pre-Authorisations?
    When you book, some facilities offer the possibility of paying directly at the facility. In these cases you will simply be asked to insert your credit (or debit) card to guarantee the booking, but without any charge. The sum will be taken from your credit card only in the cases provided for by the policies and conditions relating to your booking. In other cases, when the Partner does not adopt automatic availability and booking systems, but confirms reservations "manually", then you will be asked to insert your credit (or debit) card to guarantee the reservation, and then be directly charged at the same time as the Partner confirms the booking (within 24-48 hours). At that moment you will receive an email with the booking confirmation and payment.
  • How do I know if my card has been pre-authorized?
    By consulting your credit card balance you will see that your available balance will be temporarily reduced by the amount of your booking. In other cases and depending on the policy of your credit card circuit, you may also find an entry in the monthly summary of card movements: "pending operation". The pre-authorization block, depending on the situation, will be maintained according to the policies and terms and conditions of what has been booked.

It’s a nice hotel but they need improvements. They need to thoroughly inspect rooms after all guest leave. To make sure that things are working properly and aren’t broken. After the rooms are clean, they should automatically restock the fridge. I shouldn’t have to call midday after being at the pool or out of the hotel to complain that our mini fridge hasn’t been restocked. They need to clean their pools and hot tubs as well as the hot tub isn’t that hot and it takes a long time to get room temperature so they should put it on when they open up especially if the weather is breezy and chilly.

Successful Birthday Getaway
Upon arrival, they check you in and show you around the hotel. The vacation club representative will sit you down to book a presentation the follow day. This was unfortunate for us as my birthday was the next day and it seems every “90 minute” presentation turn into 3+ hours. We were lucky our 10 AM presentation only went until 2pm and I was able to enjoy some parts of my birthday.

The master suite was not ready upon our arrival and we had to stay in a standard room for just one night. When we finally got our master suite, we loved the balcony and layout of the room. We were so excited about the tub. however, both the tub and the shower only produced lukewarm water and did not invite for much relaxation.

Food goes beyond other hotel and all inclusive resorts I’ve been to, cook to order, and meals came out hot. The resort was under construction for the Asian restaurant but the other food options were sufficient for us.
The drinks were so good, you could get them to go back to your room. We were drinking on Carajillos every day and night. Thanks David for a great week of drinks!

We went to Okum spa three times during our stay and one we did with the massage, it was amazing. The environment is very relaxing.

There is so much to do in the surrounding area so much is walkable, but also most taxi rides will cost you 200 pesos. Fifth Avenue was a huge shopping strip just up the street and we enjoyed walking around and seeing all the different shops and souvenirs you could buy.

The weather was awesome even with the one night of thunderstorms. It was cool to see it roll in at night. The beach is right down the street and recommend going to listen to the waves at night. So peaceful.

Husbands Birthday trip

The reef 28 is a bad hotel
The reef 28 is a really bad hotel, I had to change my room keys/cards several times because I was locked off my room, also I had to change twice the safe cards because they were corrupted.
There is no hot water at all, and electricity goes off several times a day!!
Our room balcony located above two noisy bars, and we could not sleep at night.

My wife and I had a really bad experience, the staff tried to help, but they could not help and issues were not resolved.

Me encanta este hotel, acabo de ir y me decepcionó, la atención horrible, en los restaurantes ni un gerente para resolver tus problemas, los meseros que nos atendieron bien pero ya no sabían que hacer de no obtener una respuesta, en enero de el mismo año acudi y la atención fue increíble, pero ahorita está nefasto, en vdd no acudan, me quedo a deber está vez.

Muy buena atención y ambiente.
Aymara nos atendió de maravilla, muy amable y atenta si necesitábamos algo, pregunten por ella. El lugar me gustó mucho, seguro el día de mañana volvemos; ya que por la temporada la playa esta muy comida por la marea así que preferimos pasarlo en un roof.

Points négatifs et ce qu'on a vécu durant la semaine du 21 au 29 mars 2024,ce que vous devez savoir, depuis le 19 février, les hôtels Reef coco beach et reef playacar ne sont plus inclus dans le forfait tout inclus, donc nous on a réservé avant cette date, comme plusieurs québécois qui étaient là en même temps que nous, rendu là, on explique à la réception qu'on a réservé avant, mais cela n'a pas d'importance pour eux, c'est depuis 2024, point a la ligne,ils nous disent que regarder ça avec notre transporteur, faque ça coûte 15$ US par jour par personne pour aller dans les 2 autres reefs, ensuite il y a la vente sous pression pour vendre des forfait de time shearing, ça dure de 2@4 heures, pour qu'on accepte, ils nous donne des cadeaux, ex:24h gratuit pour aller dans les 2 autres reefs, même si ils savent très bien que c'était supposé être inclus dans notre tout inclus, parlant de tout inclus, la différence ici au Reef 28,cest qu'il vous vous donner une facture que vous devrez signer obligatoirement à chaque fois que vous allez au restaurant de l'hôtel, quand vous prenez un drink, ils vont vous demander votre numéro de chambre, même chose si vous allez au Reef playacar, ils vont vous demander votre # de chambre et bracelet, maintenant parlons du bruit, la musique du roof top est toujours dans le tapis, de 11h@23h

Nous sommes habitués au tout inclus standard au bord de la mer. Après plusieurs recherches, nous voulions vivre le centre de la ville animé de Playa del Carmen, mais avour accès aussi à la mer, mais pas la Mamitas beach qui est la plage publique bourrée de monde et qui n'est pas assez large et où s'étendre avec nos serviettes est quasi impossible. Le Reef 28 semblait un parfaite solution hybride, car étant en plein coeur du centre-ville et offrant la possibilité d'accéder sans frais à leurs deux hôtels partenaire, soient le Coco Beach et le Reef Playacar, ce fut la seule et unique raison pour laquelle notre choix c'est arrêter sur ce resort.

Dès notre arrivée, je m'informe des navettes pour aller gratuitement aux deux autres resorts et on m'informe que ce n'est plus inclus depuis 2024, je ne comprends pas, j'avais pourtant fais de bonnes recherches et j'avais validé moi-même et avec mon agent de voyage, donc je m'obstine un peu, on me dit qu'on regarde ça d'un air nonchalant et bête. Je commence à douter de mes recherches, on nous invite à assister à une réunion au Coco beach, ça ne nous tente pas, mais on nous promet deux jours d'accès au resorts gratuitement, un massage, un accès aux bains thérapeutique, une excursion gratuite à Tulum, alors croyant que c'était comme la réunion qu'on a le lendemain de notre arrivée dans tout les tous-inclus normaux où on nous explique le fonctionnement, l'heure des restos et les excursions disponibles, on se dit que ces cadeaux valent la peine, mais j'envoie tout de même un courriel à mon agent de voyage pour lui dire mon mécontentement. En attendant le retour de la réceptionniste et de mon agent, nous allons à cette réunion pour nous rende compte qu'il s'agit de Time sharing et qu'il faut assister jusqu'à la fin, soit 2hr pour avoir nos cadeaux, nous avons été chanceux, car la personne n'a pas été insistance et a bien vu qu'on ne savait pas qu'il s'agissait de ça et qu'on était visiblement pas intéressés par sa proposition, donc ça c'est terminé rapidement, par contre d'autres personnes ont dû restées durant près de 3 heures.

Pas de nouvelles de la réceptionniste, mais mon agent de voyage me confirme qu'on a réservé en janvier et que le Reef avait cessé d'offrir l'accès aux autres resorts à partir du 19 février preuve écrite à l'appui, donc on devait avoir accès, on est retourné à la réception et on s'est fait dire la même chose, soit que c'était 15 $us par jour et par personne depuis 2024...malhonnête de leur part.

Soyez avisé avant de réserver afin de faire un choix éclairé, ce que j'aurais aimé avoir sû avant de réserver.

Points positifs :

-belle hôtel ;
-grande chambre et salle de bain;
-restaurants très bons, malgré que 2 choix seulement par soir;
-situé au plein coeur du centre-ville
-plupart des serveurs très gentil.

Points négatifs :

-accès payants aux 2 autres resorts;
-piscine dégeulasse brouille et pas entretenue, des carrés de céramique sont détachés dans le fond de la piscine, dangereux;
-musique roof top vraiment trop forte en plein jour, je comprends que c'est jeunes et party, mais nous étions à peine 10 personnes et musique boom boom dans le fond, impossible de relaxer ;
-signature de facture pour bien voir le coût de notre repas afin d'inciter aux pourboires, on ne peux donc pas se lever comme on veut comme un tous-inclus normal;
-se faire demander notre numéro de chambre, tout ce que l'on utilise est comptabilité, mais vraiment tannant à la longue, comme si faut toujours justifié les privilèges du tout-inclus;
-musique karaoké extrême fort dans deux bars sur le côté de l'hôtel, impossible de relaxé sur son balcon, vraiment insupportable.

Sans l'accès aux deux autres resorts, le Reef playacar principalement qui a une superbe plage, je n'aurais jamais Booker, si vous voulez faire la fête au centre-ville, c'est un bon choix.

Pour les autres qui sont habitués aux tout-inclus standard, ces informations vous seront utiles pour faire votre choix.

Une solution hybride à améliorer à mon humble avis, faites le vôtre.

Nous sommes des habitués. Oui il faut aimer la musique. C’est un hôtel bien roder qui s’habitue tranquillement à recevoir des Québécois. Soyez indulgent, gentil et patient et vous aurez tous ce que vous voulez.
C’est un hôtel urbain. Oubliez ce que que vous connaissez des gros complexes. On est ailleurs !

Nous étions au 4iem étage, impossible d’aller sur notre terrasse et encore moins de profiter de la piscine et du roof top, à cause de la musique Boum Boum , très très forte, du matin au soir, en plus du club de Karaoke l’autre côté de la rue. Un service de bar minable. Excellent petit déjeuner.

Si proche de la perfection. Mais…
Je donnerais 100% pour la chambre, les restaurants, l’emplacement dans la ville tout est parfait Sauffff…. Le volume sonore de la musique de l’apprenti DJ à la piscine. C’est incroyable, je suis jeune et habitué au party mais la 7/7 jours des midi ils nous défoncent les tympans. Si c’était de ca l’hôtel serait parfaite. C’est unanime ici tout le monde se sent agressé par la musique. Un bon DJ s’adapte a sa clientèle et n’est pas obligé de sentir sur le set d’une vie a Tomorrowland. Si un jour vous changer de DJ svp m’avertir pour que je puisse revenir profiter de cette belle hôtel et de votre nourriture incroyable.

Buono ma da migliorare nei servizi in generale
Ho soggiornato in questo albergo con il mio ragazzo per 10 notti in questo mese di febbraio, devo dire che la pozione dell’albergo è centralissima si trova praticamente in una stradina all’angolo della Quinta Avenida, che è la strada più turistica di playa del Carmén, dove si concentra tutto, il passeggio, negozi, ristoranti, agenzie di tour, ecc. ecc.
La struttura è molto accogliente, la hall è sempre sorvegliata dai ragazzi alla reception, gli spazi sono grandi e ben arredati, le stanze sono veramente grandi forse un po’ troppo rispetto ai balconi e ai bagni che sono molto più ridotti. Noi ad esempio non abbiamo avuto la fortuna di avere un bel balcone con vista, nonostante avessimo una junior suite, ma abbiamo avuto un mini balcone con vista sui tetti dei palazzi e sul retro dell’hotel 👎🏻
La colazione è internazionale, ma troverete anche cucina messicana ogni giorno, ma quello che ho apprezzato di più è la frutta fresca nel buffet, buona e di qualità.
Il servizio della colazione fa molto discutere, ogni volta manca qualcosa sul tavolo, una volta il cucchiaino, una volta il bicchiere per l acqua (che sappiatelo vi riempiono i camerieri a loro piacere), ti servono il caffè o altre bevande calde sempre loro con dei termos-caraffe, insomma devi stare sempre a chiedere o l acqua o altro quindi un po’ scocciante, soprattutto se si imposta l’idea di buffet fai da te; anche perché appena scendi giù nell’area colazione devi aspettare che arrivi la simpatica signorina ( antipatica e per niente accogliente), che ti chiede il numero della stanza e ti dice lei dove ti devi sedere, quindi già questo mi ha scocciato.
Noi non avevamo l’ all inclusive ma solo la colazione compresa quindi abbiamo di nostra scelta provato anche il ristorante messicano dell’albergo e lo consiglio vivamente, soprattutto la ceviche lila, piatto che mi è piaciuto tanto. Nel complesso il ristorante messicano dell’albergo offre una buon menù ed è abbastanza economico, rispetto a quello che troverete in giro. I ragazzi del ristorante messicano sono molto bravi ma anche loro devono migliorare secondo me nel servizio, come per la colazione. Posate poggiate sui tavoli senza un tovagliolo, che per quanto possa essere pulito un tavolino comunque non è a mio dire igienico.
Comunque al ristorante potete pagare con la carta tranquillamente e non applicheranno nel conto anche la “ propina” ( la mancia) come è solito fare qui in giro.
Anche il bar del ristorante non è male, cosa che non si può dire del bar sul rooftop bocciato. Sparano musica a palla h24, non so per quanti giorni ho dovuto dormire con la musica forte da discoteca, quindi stanze grandi ma non insonorizzate.

Buono ma..
Siamo stati in questo hotel per due settimane. Scelgo di dare 3 stelline perché ci sono pro e contro. L’hotel è ben posizionato, ad un passo dalla 5a Avenida. Camere grandi e spaziose, ma con un odore di muffa seppur non sia presente. Le pulizie venivano fatte ogni gg, ma diciamo molto alla buona. Abbiamo avuto tantissimi problemi con la chiave che sono stati risolti solo l’ultimo gg. Molto fastidiosa la musica dalle 7 del mattino fino a tarda sera.
La piscina della terrazza è piccola e strapiena. Se si arrivava troppo tardi non c’erano lettini, per cui bisogna optare per il mare che era a due passi, era pulito e bello ma bisognava rinunciare ai lettini ed ai drink inclusi nel pacchetto. Servizio nel bar della piscina pessimo, a meno che non elargivi generose mance. Ristorante messicano molto buono, con camerieri attenti alle esigenze. Ristorante asiatico buono. Ristorante italiano pessimo. Si sa che noi italiani siamo esigenti ma questa non si può definire cucina italiana. Quindi se posso consigliare prendete i secondi e lasciate i primi oppure mangiate al ristorante messicano.

Wer Ruhe und Erholung sucht ist hier falsch
Sehr schönes Hotel in zentraler Lage. 3 Gehminuten von der 5th avenue.
Das Zimmer ist sehr schön, sauber und gross.
ABER, die Geräuschkulisse des Hotels ist grausam. Da sich der offene Frühstücksbereich unten in der Mitte des Gebäudes befindet und sich die Zimmertüren alle zum “Innenhof”befinden, hört man morgens ab 5:00 und abends teilweise bis nach Mitternacht wirklich alles. Musik, Besteck, Tellergeklirre, lachen bis in den 4. Stock auf unser Zimmer.
Über uns ist die sehr schöne Rooftop bar. Musik zu laut. Eher täglich Party. Nix mit entspannt am Pool liegen. Wenn dann nach 20:00 der DJ aufhört, geht’s unten im Essbereich wieder los.
Wer Ruhe und Erholung sucht, ist in diesem Hotel falsch.
Ich beschwere mich selten bis gar nicht, aber hier bin ich an meiner Schmerzgrenze angelangt. Wahrscheinlich durch den Schlafmangel :-(

Ansonsten ist das Fitnesstudio auch ok. Leider keine Handtücher, dafür aber Klimaanlage und Wasserspender.
Das Hotel ist plastikfrei. Jedes Zimmer hat eine Karaffe die man bei Bedarf auf jedem Stock an einem modernen Wasserspender auffüllen kann. Das ist toll!

Schönes Hotel zu einem fairen Preis
Das Hotel liegt leider nicht am Strand aber in Strandnähe, sodass dieser fussläufig erreichbar ist. Die Nutzung der Beachclubs der Schwesterhotels ist inclusive.

Die Zimmer sind sehr grosszügig geschnitten und haben eine gute Ausstattung. Leider hat unser Zimmer extrem muffig-feucht gerochen. Da wir nur für eine Nacht dort waren, war es aber zu ertragen.

Alle Mitarbeitenden waren super freundlich, aufmerksam und hilfsbereit.

Wir waren nur eine Nacht dort, aber das Abendessen als auch das Frühstück waren richtig gut. Das Frühstücksbuffet war überdurchschnittlich umfangreich und konnte durchaus mit einem 5 Sterne Hotel mithalten.

Das Hotel befindet sich an einer perfekten Lage. Der Strand sowie auch das Zentrum sind in unmittelbarer nähe. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Zimmer sind sauber und ordentlich. Der einzige Nachteil, der Lärm innerhalb des Hotels, da man wirklich alles hört.

Avrei dato anche la lode, se un po’ meno rumoroso
L’hotel si trova in pienissimo centro a Playa, a due passi dalla quinta senza senza accusarne i rumori. Stanze grandi, carine, sempre pulite. Struttura nuova, ben tenuta, direi stilosa. Io ho scelto la formula all inclusive che si è’ mostrata il punto di forza della vacanza. Tre ristoranti (un messicano, un asiatico e un italiano) dove a pArte pochissime cose puoi scegliere qualsiasi cosa. Tutto sempre davvero buono e presentato buonissimo. Rapporto qualità prezzo dell' hotel superlativo. L unica cosa e’ che all ultimo piano c è una bella piscina molto frequentata e con musica alta e che anche all interno dell’ hotel c è’ sempre un sottofondo pesante purché tutte le camere affacciano su questa corte interna dove c’è la sala colazione. Diciamo certamente non silenzioso. Ma per il resto super ok!

Unschlagbares Preis-Leistungsverhältnis
Wir hatten noch nie All-Inclusive gebucht und waren daher gespannt, was man dafür so geboten bekommt.

Der Preis von ca. 550 € für drei Nächte wäre an der Lage und mit 4-Sterne-Standard schon für die Übernachtung mit Frühstück OK gewesen, aber wir hatten zusätzlich dreimal Dinner, was nicht nur ganz gut, sondern wirklich hervorragend geschmeckt hat. Frühstück war ebenfalls reichlich und von hervorragender Qualität. Mittags gab es am Pool einfache, aber leckere Snacks, das Weinangebot könnte vielleicht etwas optimiert werden, denn es gibt wahrscheinlich selbst aus dem Tetrapack Sorten, die nicht nach Essig schmecken. Bier war hingegen mehr als in Ordnung, und es wurde auch öfter nachgefragt, ob noch etwas gewünscht wird.

Die Bedienung war ausnahmslos sehr freundlich, schnell und aufmerksam, großes Lob an dieser Stelle.

Die Anlage an sich scheint relativ neu und gut in Schuss, außerdem sehr sauber und optimal gelegen. Das Zimmer war extrem geräumig und praktisch eingerichtet, auch im Bad fehlte es an nichts. Etwas ringhörig allerdings, und der Bettbezug roch anfangs leicht muffig.

Die Pool-Anlage auf dem Dach, insbesondere auch der Pool- und vor allem Strandbereich im Schwesterhotel Reef Coco Beach war hingegen eher 3-Sterne-Niveau, was aber bei uns keinen Anlass zu Verstimmung gab.

Wir waren insgesamt sehr angenehm überrascht, was wir im The Reef 28 alles geboten bekamen, und gradezu begeistert vom Personal.

Daher uneingeschränkte Empfehlung.

Un posto fantastico dove soggiornare:)
Abbiamo ricevuto un servizio ottimo e molto cordiale da parte di Marco, sempre pronto ad aiutarci e accoglierci con un sorriso :)
In generale uno Staff molto cordiale e attento
Un posto consigliato, in un ottima posizione, a un passo dalla "Quinta Avenida" ma tranquillo e senza rumore (soprattutto durante la notte).

Questa più che una recensione vuole essere un complaine diretto al Manager dell’ hotel. Caro Manager alla reception ci sono 2 figure davvero poco professionali e sopratutto molto arroganti e sono Mr. D e Mrs R.
Avevo prenotato il Reef 28 dal 29 al 4 febbraio purtroppo il mio volo è stato cancellato e sono arrivato in Messico il 30. La mia prenotazione era ancora attiva perché non era stato fatto no show dal sistema Booking, mi sono recato in struttura scusandomi e chiedendo se potevo comunque usufruire della mia prenotazione. La risposta di Mr D è stata un no secco e che sarebbe stata applicata la penale. Informavo il receptionist che non sarebbe stata possibile applicarla perché la mia carta di credito non permette i pagamenti da remoto, a quel punto la receptionist R. mi rassicurava con sguardo soddisfatto invece che la penale lei sarebbe riuscita a prenderla dalla carta e che mi potevo accomodare fuori. A quel punto andai via e nessuna penale l’ hotel è riuscito ad incassare così come avevo anticipato ai due super receptionist. Sarebbe stato meglio in termini economici farmi usufruire della mia prenotazione. Il mio viaggio per il Messico è continuato e il 6 febbraio ho fatto ritorno a playa prenotando il Reef 28. All’ accoglienza c erano Mr. D. e Mrs R.che si sono evidentemente ricordati di me scambiandosi sguardi che lo lasciavano intendere. Evidentemente per loro era arrivato il momento della rivincita nei miei confronti e nonostante io avessi una prenotazione attiva mi hanno fatto aspettare 40’minuti in reception perché nel loro sistema la prenotazione non c’ era. Tutto ciò mentre erano incuranti della mia presenza, ridevano, scherzavano, si abbracciavano. Tutto poco professionale e patetico. Solo dopo l’ intervento del costumer care di booking.com la prenotazione è magicamente apparsa. L’ hotel è davvero bello, le camere sono ampie dotate di ogni confort, pulite, silenziose, la colazione buffet molto ricca e di qualità, il servizio da parte di ogni membro dello staff è davvero molto cordiale e professionale. Non capisco proprio cosa ci facciano 2 individui come R & D in reception. Abbassano il livello di ospitalità e accoglienza di tutta la struttura. Dovrebbero prendere esempio invece da Angelo, una star dell’ accoglienza. Mr. D. Non contento al mio check out nonostante io l’ abbia salutato mi ha praticamente ignorato.
Spero che la proprietà lègga questo mio commento e prenda i provvedimenti necessari e tenga conto del danno sia di immagine che economico che queste 2 persone hanno arrecato all’ azienda.
