A gem with a view of the Cricket ground and Mountains
I booked at The Ortus Residency for my visit for the 5th Test in early March , I was delightfully surprised daily by the standard of the hotel , the views from my room and balcony , how comfortable the room was and as the outside temperature fluctuates , how easily it was to warm or cool the room , the additional room with sofa was welcome , the hotel WIFI keeping me in touch with home , large bed ....superb .....but the X factor of this hotel was the Staff lead by a excellent manager in Ashu Chaudhary , Nothing and I mean Nothing is too much trouble for him and his team , The service , the cleanliness, the choice and taste of the food provided (I booked Breakfast and Lunch or Evening meal ) ...so much choice ....presentation five star , My case broke they fixed it , my shoes were cleaned , efficient laundry service ... we even had one meal on the roof with a log pit ...big wow , more like staying with your family , than a hotel .....it take a lot to impress me , I have travelled extensively for decades , but this place is a gem , just make sure you don't book my room , when I return , oh not licenced but you can bring your own drink in no corkage ...further too the Cricket test finished early they have a excellent taxi driver Rishi who takes you around , I can not recommend this establishment more ......what more can I say ....!!!!!!!!

Great Stay
Our stay at Treebo Trend Ortus was great with exceptional customer service and food. The purpose of our stay was visiting Dharamshala for the test match between India and England. The Hotel provided a great base for reaching HPCA ground as It was only a 15 minute taxi ride to the ground. I would highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere near HPCA. The views from all our balconies was something special, It's not everyday you get the opportunity to wake up near the himalayas. All the staff members went out their way to make our stay comfortable with the food cooked to a high standard with plenty of variety. It's within walking distance to a supermarket, atm and local market and overall the area felt safe. Comfortable beds, AC and bathroom facilities did not disappoint either. We would certainly return and cannot recommend the hotel enough.

Amazing staff can’t do enough for you in this lovely hotel
The staff were so friendly and helpful, they even bought me a uk plug adaptor as I’d brought the wrong one with me! They arranged a taxi driver for us and gave ideas on local trips. As the hotel is quite small we ordered breakfast rather than it being a buffet style, but there was lots of choice and they arranged an early pre ordered breakfast on the days we went to the cricket. It was nice to be away from the more tourist-y McLeod Ganj and the hotel restaurant food was varied and delicious. The rooms were clean and functional, we felt very fortunate to have stumbled on this little gem! I would definitely recommend it!

One of the loveliest hotels I have ever stayed in
From the moment I checked in and they gave me masala tea and biscuits until the moment I left and they told me it had been an honour to have me staying there this was simply one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had.
A beautiful breakfast every morning – the menu changed every day as well, so that was really exciting. And the service from Vivek was warm and friendly and the perfect start to every day.
The room was spotlessly clean and had a breathtaking view of the Himalayas.
The hotel arranged some wonderful tours, some great massages and even a rooftop banquet/barbecue one night!
I would recommend anyone visiting Dharamshala to stay at this hotel. Congratulations to Ashok and Manish, and everyone in the team there for running such an excellent venue. I have never been so sad to leave a hotel, and I will certainly be back to visit one day!

Best Budget friendly Hotel
