Vor-+Nachteile eines Flughafenhotels
Das Hotel ist sehr nahen beim Flughafen von Funchal gelegen. Tolle Lage.
Leider wurde das Frühstücks-Buffet von Touristen gestürmt. Das Buffet wäre sehr gut gewesen. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gepflegt. Schade, dass man keine Zimmer nach Wunsch-Nummern buchen kann, trotz Buchung ein Jahr vorher.
Negativ: Von Balkon zu Balkon besteht kein Sichtschutz.

Once again to our happy place
We had our second visit to this lovely hotel in November, we have never returned to a hotel or destination before but we weren't at all disappointed, the hotel was just as wonderful and it's standards just as high as on our first visit.
We could fault nothing as before.
The staff were attentive, friendly and extremely helpful to everyone and a special thank you to Mr Edgar, Sandra, Louisa,David, Odelia, Michelle and Nadia from the restaurant, Caterina in the Spa ( a must visit) and the wonderful reception staff for another enjoyable stay.
The Christmas lights were switched on whilst we were there and Santa Cruz Village became a beautiful winter wonderland! The lights were outstanding with animated singing tableaus and the village was alive with local families and visitors alike, it definitely made our visit more special.
We will be returning again later this month and are looking forward to exploring more of this beautiful island.
If you are looking for a peaceful relaxing holiday with good food, staff and amenities, located in a beautiful village ( only a 10 minute transfer from the airport) look no further..

Santa Cruz for a new year break…
One of our classic ‘last minute’ decisions to grab a few days away after Christmas and before the new year really started up…it was through Jet2 and have to say it was seamless.
The hotel information on the net is pretty accurate and we went for a double room with sea view..and that’s exactly what we got.
The room was very comfortable, daily room cleaning, aircon, and had a small but functional balcony with chairs and a table.
We went bed and breakfast as we like to check out local restaurants but the breakfast had a varied offering from fried, continental, cereals and with tea, coffee and a range of fruit juices.
Service all round was good and the staff attentive if a little ‘serious’ at times.
Parking is available (underground) and whilst a little pricey at €7 per day was spacious and not overcrowded.

The hotel is literally a stones throw from the beach and village centre where there are a large number of local restaurants and bars serving up great meals at fair prices. Around €10 - €20 for a main course. Being there still in the post Christmas period the decorations and light were still all up over the island and Santa Cruz had some wonderful lighting and animated displays…it was a great time to visit.

Be warned Santa Cruz is close to the airport but it did not interfere in the slightest with the enjoyment of the stay. In fact if you get a tracking app. you can sit with a glass of wine and monitor the incoming and outgoing flights! There is really little prolonged noise and you shouldn’t complain as that’s probably how you got there!

The hotel has a small indoor pool, gym and spa bath and a large outdoor pool. All very clean , well maintained and safe.

Funchal is about 15 minutes drive or the hotel has a courtesy bus although we didn’t use it so can’t really comment on it.

Overall the Vila Gale was a great place to stay and we would (will!) go there again.

Lovely hotel, food needs improvement.
The hotel was quite smart, good sized, comfortable room, we had a lovely sea view balcony, room was well serviced. Pool good size, lovely aspect, but very cold. Lovely position in small town of Santa Cruz, just minutes from the airport, flights more of an attraction passing over, than an annoyance. Hotel courtesy is an excellent bonus, bookable, takes you into Funchal and brings you back. Staff were lovely and accommodating.
Food and drink were not very good, wine at dinner, both white and red not very palatable, only one cocktail available on All Inclusive, “ Cocktail of the day” I think they made them up! Food was very mediocre, eggs for breakfast fried in an inch of oil, many items on buffet constantly running out, big queues at grill area, desserts very sweet and sickly. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday were terrible, there were obviously lots of weekend guests, and a party of umpteen school children, not enough staff to cope, queues to get into dining room, food on buffet running out very quickly. Bar snacks were superb, opted for these rather than the lunch.

Never again!
This hotel is in a fantastic location but that is literally the only good thing that I can say about it. I have never left a bad review on a website about a hotel but feel compelled to do so after Tui refused to acknowledge that that there was anything wrong with the hotel, despite an official complaint .

Literally all of the guests in the hotel were complaining. The rooms at the back were noisy and the hotel manager refused to accept that there was a problem until I threatened to leave the hotel and ask for my money back. There was no-one to serve at the bar for hours on end which lead to guests going behind the bar to serve other people! The staff on reception were extremely rude. Our tui rep visited once for a welcome meeting, never to be seen again. Several guests tried to contact the rep to try ang get him to help sort out the situation at the hotel but he did not answer his phone or return calls for 3 days. This hotel is a disgrace and the fact that aTUI do not appear to acknowledge this is terrible.

Nightmare stay
I can’t understand why this hotel is rated so high.The restaurant is dirty,the beds are a nightmare and no one cares about complaints.we are in the hotel right now.in the morning when you go for breakfast the floor is covered in food from dinner the night before.toilets the same thing.there are places that haven’t been cleaned in a long time.the baby pool is broken,dangerous for babies as the tiles are broken.the beds are a nightmare,we didn’t sleep a whole night once.they would have to be changed.I came here happy and healthy,now the whole family is grumpy and has back pain.when you complain,all you get is a sorry at reception.definitely not to recommend.It’s the worst hotel we have ever stayed in

Das Hotel war sehr schön optisch gesehen und die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Es gab ein paar Probleme mit dem WiFi aber das war nur eine Kleinigkeit. Eine vielseitige Auswahl an Essen gab es auch und ich fand es auch immer sehr gut, dass die Kellner beim Abendessen am Empfang immer nach der Zimmernummer und dem Namen gefragt haben. Die Rezeptionisten waren ebenfalls sehr freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit und aufmerksam - einige der Hotelmitarbeiter konnten sogar Deutsch. Anschließend muss ich auch erwähnen, dass wenn man von den Räumen von der Seite der Rezeption mit dem Fahrstuhl in den -1 fährt kann man auch kleine Souvenirs kaufen es ist am Hintereingang des Hotels. Also dieses Hotel kann ich sehr empfehlen - zudem kommt auch noch hinzu, dass es in der Nähe eine Autovermietung gibt (ungefähr 100 bis 200 Meter entfernt), eine Bäckerei (gut 50 Meter entfernt) und in der Nähe gab es auch einige Restaurants und kleine Einkaufsläden. Die Lage des Hotels war ebenfalls sehr großartig.

The hotel was very beautiful visually, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. There were a few issues with the WiFi, but that was only a minor thing. There was a diverse selection of food, and I also appreciated that the waiters always asked for the room number and name at dinner reception. The receptionists were also very friendly, helpful, and attentive - some of the hotel staff even spoke German. Afterwards, I must also mention that when you take the elevator to -1 from the reception area, you can purchase small souvenirs. It is located at the back entrance of the hotel. So, I can highly recommend this hotel - furthermore, there is a car rental nearby (approximately 100 to 200 meters away), a bakery (about 50 meters away), and there are also some restaurants and small shops nearby. The location of the hotel was also excellent.

Camera spaziosa,buoni servizi,piscina veramente bella,SPA molto carina e con tutti i servizi forniti dalla struttura,palestra ben attrezzata.unico grande difetto per noi la moquette in camera e arredo datato.colazione varia di salato e dolce.Hotel vivibile per noi che non siamo abituati a stare in hotel ma siamo molto in movimento.nel complesso lo consigliamo.siamo stati bene tranquillo.personale gentile.

Séjour très décevant
Établissement indigne d un 4*, propreté du restaurant négligé, buffet inlassablement le même. Personnel de service débordé. Chambre pas faite un jour. Piscine fréquenté par des jeunes du coin. Au SPA pour changer les serviettes il n y avait jamais personne. Par contre prix excessif !!!

Bon hôtel
Hôtel très agréable, dans un joli petit village. Le seul bémol, c'est la proximité de la piste d'aviation. Personnel professionnel et sympathique. Les chambres sont grandes, et celles avec vue sur la mer, sont géniales.

BEL HOTEL ET BELLES PRESTATIONS
On est venus à Madère en réservant à la dernière minute, l'hôtel GALE. Quelle agréable surprise : l'hôtel est bien placé, très propre et appliquant les gestes barrières, les personnes à l'accueil sont adorables. Quant au service restauration le soir, c'était parfait. On avait le choix entre 2 menus délicieux et bien présentés. Un vrai bonheur ; le matin petit déjeuner copieux servis à table.
Vu le peu d'avions actuellement, la proximité de l'aéroport ne nous a pas du tout gêné. Il y a une belle promenade au bord de mer pour aller au village.

Ferien im Hotel Villa Gale Madeira
Zum zweiten mal in diesem Hotel und wir wahren wieder sehr zufrieden. Trotz Covid wodurch das Essen a la carte mit 2 menu empfohlen wurde war das Essen und die Auswahl sehr gut. Das Personal sehr freundlich und entgegen kommenden. Die Räumlichkeiten sowie Sauberkeit wahr auch zufrieden stellend. Santa Cruz ist ein kleiner und schöner Ort mit einer schönen Strandpromenade. Und wenn man einen schönen Sandstrand sucht, findet man den im Nachbar Ort Machico, 15 Minuten mit dem Bus.

Wunderschöne 4 Sterne Hotel
Sehr schöne Zimmer. Bad mit einer Badewanne und einer Duschwand. Flatscreen gegenüber dem Bett. Leider nur 2 deutsche Programme. Fluglärm trotz der Nähe zum Flughafen fast nicht zu hören. Frühstück und Abendessen in buffet Basis. Showcocking am Abend

Das Vila Galé ist ein schönes Hotel zentral in Santa Cruz gelegen. Vom Hotel bis zum Airport sind es mit dem Bus 10min.
Wir hatten hier ein All Inklusiv Angebot gebucht über TUI.
Das Personal hier ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Weshalb wir hier nur 3 von 5 Sternen geben liegt daran, das der Wellnesbereich sehr bescheiden ist, das Dampfbad nicht wirklich ging, der Whirlpool nicht gerade das gelbe vom Ei gewesen ist, und die Bademäntel bei All Inklusiv kostenpflichtig sind.
Gegen ein Pfand hätten wir nicht gehabt, aber eine Gebühr Tageweise für den Bademantel finde ich nicht so toll !!
Das Essen war zum Teil ganz in Ordnung, für unseren Geschmack zu einfallslos und einseitig.
Leider ist das Hotel auch sehr hellhörig, was gerade Nachts unangenehm ist wenn es auf den Fluren immer wieder laut ist und man durch den Lärm geweckt wird.
Daher gibt es nur 3 von 5 Punkten !!

Hôtel très propre. Chambre spacieuse. Le personnel est très accueillant et aux petits soins pour les clients. Beaucoup d'employés parlent français. On pouvait craindre la proximité de l'aéroport mais les vols ne sont pas si nombreux et le soir c'est calme. Un seul bémol : le parking, si vous louez une voiture. Il n'y a pas beaucoup d'emplacements et la journée il est emprunté par les locaux qui vont à la plage. Mais le soir vous trouverez toujours une place.
L'hôtel est très bien situé et vous pouvez accéder rapidement aux endroits les plus merveilleux de l'île et il y en a beaucoup ! Je recommande cet hôtel et plus largement la visite de Madère.

Perfecto
Lugar perfecto para descansar . Tiene de todo. Bares ,supermercados, tiendas de ropa...
Esta muy bien.
De noche hace bastante frio pero en general todo bien.
Vistas espectaculares y gente nuy amable.
En agosto tienen actuaciones y mercados todos los dias esta genial.

Playas chulas
Sitio muy bonito, playas grandes y cuidadas, el pueblo tiene de todo.
Se puede comer a pie de playa, si hace bueno pasan a vender bebidas a pie de arena. Tiene chiringuitos y ambiente surfero. Para familias con niños tambien esta chulo.
Recomendable.

bel hotel nous sommes ravis
Hotel à 5 mn de l aéroport et à 20mn de Funchal par bus ou navettes
Personnel super agréable ,souriant malgré le nombre de chambres !!!
Hotel bien situé arrêt des bus à 5mn à pieds ,prendre le bus pour Funchal ou ailleurs horaires à l'accueil .
Chambres spacieuses ,literie excellente , salle de bains propre ,linge changer tout les jours .
Repas sous forme de buffets ou de grillades à volonté ...du choix et de l'originalité ..
Pas ou peu d'animation dans l'hotel ,Santa Cruz est agréable le soir pour un verre et une promenade
Nous n'avons pas étés gêner par le bruit des avions on les entends mais ce n'est pas Orly !!!!
Je suis ravie de mon séjour dans cet endroit et nous comptons y retourner
Par contre ne pas prendre les excursions des tours opérateurs ,l'ile de Madère se visite en bus avec les locaux ou alors hors saison louer une voiture ...Une astuce dans l'ile on ne prends pas souvent les cartes de paiements de France quand vous voyez un distributeur pensez -y
