- What is Paga in Structural and what are Payment Pre-Authorisations?
When you book, some facilities offer the possibility of paying directly at the facility. In these cases you will simply be asked to insert your credit (or debit) card to guarantee the booking, but without any charge. The sum will be taken from your credit card only in the cases provided for by the policies and conditions relating to your booking. In other cases, when the Partner does not adopt automatic availability and booking systems, but confirms reservations "manually", then you will be asked to insert your credit (or debit) card to guarantee the reservation, and then be directly charged at the same time as the Partner confirms the booking (within 24-48 hours). Salute to VIP Grand Lisboa!
VIP Grand Lisboa warmed our hearts and provided comfort for our short stay in Lisbon. Yesterday happened to be my wife’s birthday and our 41 wedding anniversary. We returned to hotel room after a day’s trip visiting the city only to find a tray with a bottle of champagne and a slice of birthday cake and a candle awaiting us on the desktop. This gesture of helping us celebrate and cherish what we care deeply touched us and made our stay with this sense of gratitude. A big thumbs up to VIP Grand Lisboa! Thank you!

NOT a FIVE STAR HOTEL
This is NOT a 5 star hotel. I have been in other 5 star hotels & they were much better in all aspects.
The reception service was average.
The room was average in its size.
The bed was comfortable.
The bathroom was also OK.
The breakfast menu was average. We were not treated as expected. The breakfast room is open at 06:30 and it took 15 minutes untill somebody has arrived to service us. It seems nobody is in hurry. We asked for a large bowl. We were told it does not exist, but we saw such bowel when we had launch. We asked for a large glass. At first, we were told that the only glases are the the small glases served in the breakfast. We insisted to receive a large glass & we got one. This is NOT a 5 star hotel treartment. We had also lunch which was average when the entire room the air condition was off despite our complaint. It was very hot during lunch, but it seems nobody cares about this.
The hotel is not located in the center. It will take 10-15 drive with Uber to reach Baxia.
The reception service was average.

Not a 5 Star hotel- maybe 2.
Experience from staying in the
“Executive suite”:
We asked if we could check in one hour early and were told that then we had to pay for one day extra!
We had booked 10 days in the so-called executive suite.
Bathroom
No separate shower. You shower in the slippery bathtub. No slippery mat supplied.
Washbasin is too high - cannot get water in a normal way.
Few towel hangers in bathroom.
Bad lightning in the
Room
Hangers in closet are fixed. Very uncomfortable to use.
TV is not real smart TV - no internet connection.
Very few lamps in the room. One did dot work.
The light in the bathroom was very bad.
The electrical sockets very few. We asked for two extension cords.
Dark wardrobes - lights?
No iron or iron board in the room. You can get one but have to give a deposit by your credit card!
The reason was that guests steal the iron! according to the reception.
The wardrobe hangers were of the very old and uncomfortable type.
Probable because guests steal the normal ones.
No bed side tables.
Strange bedding. Beside the normal duvet cover and extra sheet is used. Why? We requested 4 days in a row but this information/request was not given to the staff!
Only one small trash bin the bathroom.
The apartment is badly insulated and neighbors are too easily heard through the walls.

A non working coffee machine. Only two capsules were provided. Extra coffee capsules costs EUR 1.5 each. You can buy outside hotel 10 pcs for EUR 3-4.
No water kettle.
Pool
The sun beds are not up to date.
You cannot change the back angle on most of them. They are heavy and the seat cushions slides to easily of the chair. Some of the head supports are dirty.
The pool was cold. A non heated pool.
Breakfast
The breakfast had no real fresh orange or other juice.
The bacon was not crispy-soggy, seemed to be boiled!
All boiled eggs tried, had green egg yolk. Totally overcooked. The staff said that it was the cook’s responsibility not his!
Offered to instruct and teach the cook.
No cold milk.
Missed the dark German bread.
No egg station. Only premade scrambled eggs.
Strange orange marmalade brand. Really no normal orange or other marmalades!

Not what it looks from outside
Started on the wrong foot, AC wasn’t working, no technician was available (busy with other repair). Got a replacement room. Floors are old, furniture is old. Electric switches for the electric curtains are warn out. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Always smiling and doing their best.

Excellent
We loved our stay at VIP Grand Lisboa. The staff at check in were excellent. The room was very clean and the shower was the best- so far- in Portugal. Also very quiet and dark for a good night’s sleep. Loved the electronic shades and view of the city
