In 930, the Icelandic Parliament, the first democracy in the world, was established in Thingvellir. Thingvellir became a World Heritage Site in 2004. We walk towards Öxarárfoss waterfall.
STROKKUR AND THE GEYSER AREA
You probably didn't know that the English name "geyser", comes from the only one in the Haukadalur area. Geysir geyser itself spews boiling water up to 70 meters, but is almost inactive. Strokkur, a few meters away from the Geyser, erupts every 4 minutes on average. Faxi is a nearby waterfall and we stop there.

KRAFLA
A few kilometers north of Námaskarð, lies Krafla, the central volcano.
DIMMUBBORGIR
Dimmuborgir, an incredible geological wonder, is made up of massive lava tubes, up to a few meters in diameter. They were formed about 2,300 years ago when lava flowed over a small lake. The water started boiling and the steam rose up through the lava forming these massive lava tubes. Dimmuborgir is the home of the Icelandic jule boys.

BLACK BEACH OF DJÚPALÓNSSANDUR
The black beach of Djúpalónssandur. Djúpalónssandur Black Beach is a bay at the tip of the Snæfellsnes peninsula. The small black pebbles on the beach have been smoothed away by the ocean waves, and scattered among them are rusty parts of a ship wreck that ran aground in the area in 1948. In the past, fishermen tested their strength by lifting heavy boulders, that still lie there. The heaviest is Fullsterkur ("full strength"), weighing 154 kg, next is Hálfsterkur ("half strength") weighing 100 kg, hálfdrættingur ("weak") weighing 54 kg, and Amlóði ("Useless ") 23kg. They were traditionally used to qualify men for work on trawlers, with the Hálfdrættingur being the minimum weight a man would need to lift onto a ledge at hip height to qualify.

In summer (April - October).
HRAUNFOSSAR AND BARNAFOSSAR WATERFALLS
Hraunfossar and Barnafossar waterfalls are located in the less visited western part of Iceland, Borgarfjörður. Hraunfossar is one of Iceland's most beautiful waterfalls, where a series of cascades gush from porous lava into the Hvítá River. The flowing water extends over a distance of about 900 meters, out of the Hallmundarhraun lava field. Nearby Barnafossar, which means children's waterfall, takes its name from the children who lost their lives in the waterfall. The story goes that there was a natural, lava bridge over the waterfall, which was destroyed by a mother who lost two of her children while crossing the river on that bridge.

  • Is breakfast always included?
No, it depends on the rate and whether the structure is organized to offer it or not. Check carefully before booking what is included and what is not and what type of service is offered.
  • Can I make special requests?
Of course, when booking you will have a field where you can write directly to the property and make your requests. These will be evaluated by the Hotel who will respond directly to you. MeTour is not responsible in this decision-making process.

The sum will be taken from your credit card only in the cases provided for by the policies and conditions relating to your booking. In other cases, when the Partner does not adopt automatic availability and booking systems, but confirms reservations "manually", then you will be asked to insert your credit (or debit) card to guarantee the reservation, and then be directly charged at the same time as the Partner confirms the booking (within 24-48 hours). At that moment you will receive an email with the booking confirmation and payment.
  • How do I know if my card has been pre-authorized?
By consulting your credit card balance you will see that your available balance will be temporarily reduced by the amount of your booking. In other cases and depending on the policy of your credit card circuit, you may also find an entry in the monthly summary of card movements: "pending operation". The pre-authorization block, depending on the situation, will be maintained according to the policies and terms and conditions of what has been booked.

  • Are there taxes, local charges or extras to be paid directly on site?
They are normally clearly indicated in the property sheet or added during the booking phase depending on local regulations or the facility's policies. Private two-day tour golden circle/south coast
We went on a private two day tour along the golden circle and south coast with Sergei, it was amazing. Sergei is super professional, kind, patient and knowledgeable. He also takes really great pictures and knows all the best spots for them! He lent me some gloves from his wife super last-minute when I told him mine fit too big, and would also let me stop several times along the way to see icelandic horses! I would recommend him 100%, best price-quality guarantee! Sergei thank you for everything I wish you the very best in all your future endeavors!
Dear Sol, Thank you for your feedback and for traveling with me for two days along the Golden Circle and South Coast routes. I'm glad you have pleasant memories.

In a word, it's incredible!
We had a 5-day tour to Iceland, and all these days Serhey accompanied us on the trip. It was an incredible 5 days!
We saw as much as we could. Sergey not only brought us to the locations, he told many stories and facts about these places, about Iceland in general, and also recommended the best locations for photos.
He is very knowledgeable, with an encyclopedic knowledge of everything in Iceland - from the earliest history to the modern political system, from flora and fauna to geological and climatic nuances. Also, it is exciting to listen to him. He holds the audience well, and answers all questions.
He is also an incredibly intelligent and calm person. He will always help, advise if any difficulties arise. It is impossible to imagine a better guide.
Thank you, Sergey, for presenting Iceland for me and making me fall in love with it. Now I want to come here in the summer so that I can see other parts of the island, not only the south :)
Dear Larissa,
Thank you for your feedback and for being with me during these five days of traveling in the South and West of Iceland and allowing me to introduce you to many of the sights of our country. I would be happy to help you explore Iceland on a trip around the island if you can revisit us.

Thank you for your kind words and for being with me two day
