In the Heart of Naples: Private Tour from Piazza del Gesù to San Gregorio Armeno

Piazza del Gesù Nuovo - Napoli - Italy

Naples is a city defined as one of the most beautiful in the world to visit at least once in a lifetime. A beauty to be experienced through its streets and alleys, descending into its bowels, diving into a 28-century-long story that begins with a small Greek community that lands in the magical place founded by a Siren. A place to experience by mixing with a lively and welcoming people, inventor of pizza and the art of getting by, suspended between mysticism, faith, pragmatism and above all the veneration of the myth of Maradona. We offer you a tour with Private Guide in the historic center of this magical city, in its beating heart among historic buildings, stories, tales, myths, smells and colors of a capital of culture that never sleeps, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

What will you do

With an authorized expert guide you will visit the center of Naples on foot starting from Piazza Del Gesù. Here you will see the imposing eighteenth-century obelisk of the Immaculate Conception that adorns the center of the square and at the top of which is housed a beautiful and venerated statue of the Immaculate Conception. You will continue the tour with a visit to the seventeenth-century church of Gesù Nuovo, where there seem to be references to esotericism and Freemasonry on the facade. From there you will visit the Church of Santa Chiara and its famous Majolica Cloister and then move until you reach Via San Gregorio Armeno, the very famous street of the Shepherds.

What to expect

A visit that will allow you to learn more about the history of this city through some of its symbolic monuments. Traveling through its historic center, the Guide will not fail to tell you anecdotes, stories between the sacred and the profane, which at the end of the journey will allow you to better understand the contradictions that link this unique place to its wonderfully welcoming population.
There will be the opportunity to celebrate the ritual of coffee here, even leaving a suspended (paid) one for those who can't afford it, to be accompanied by a sfogliatella (typical dessert) for those with a sweet tooth.

What's included

The Authorized Expert Guide is included.

What is not included

Tips, entrance fees where necessary and everything not described.

To remember

The cost of the Private Guide is for groups of 1 to 15 people.
For languages other than Italian, specify when booking - subject to availability.

Tips

Once in San Gregorio, the street of the Shepherds artisans, you can continue the tour with a visit to the historic workshop of the crib artist Petrucciani (not included - bookable on our website) where, in addition to privately visiting the workshop, you will be given a real emotional journey in this ancient art.

Recommended comfortable shoes, clothing suitable for the weather and the season, a bottle of water and the ever-present camera to collect the memories of this wonderful day.

  • Are the prices always the same even if the date changes?
Prices vary based on various factors which may be seasonal, day of the week, occupancy status of the hotel, promotions, particular fairs in the city and more. The advice, to see the prices, is to enter the dates of your stay and make your own comparisons.
  • Is breakfast always included?
No, it depends on the rate and whether the structure is organized to offer it or not. Check carefully before booking what is included and what is not and what type of service is offered.
  • Can I make special requests?
Of course, when booking you will have a field where you can write directly to the property and make your requests. These will be evaluated by the Hotel who will respond directly to you. MeTour is not responsible in this decision-making process.
  • What types of beds will I find in the room I booked?
The type of bed is usually specified in the room sheet. If you have any special requests or needs you can indicate them at the time of booking by writing them in the "special requests" field which will be forwarded directly to the property. In this process MeTour is not responsible.
  • What is Paga in Structural and what are Payment Pre-Authorisations?
When you book, some facilities offer the possibility of paying directly at the facility. In these cases you will simply be asked to insert your credit (or debit) card to guarantee the booking, but without any charge. The sum will be taken from your credit card only in the cases provided for by the policies and conditions relating to your booking. In other cases, when the Partner does not adopt automatic availability and booking systems, but confirms reservations "manually", then you will be asked to insert your credit (or debit) card to guarantee the reservation, and then be directly charged at the same time as the Partner confirms the booking (within 24-48 hours). At that moment you will receive an email with the booking confirmation and payment.
  • How do I know if my card has been pre-authorized?
By consulting your credit card balance you will see that your available balance will be temporarily reduced by the amount of your booking. In other cases and depending on the policy of your credit card circuit, you may also find an entry in the monthly summary of card movements: "pending operation". The pre-authorization block, depending on the situation, will be maintained according to the policies and terms and conditions of what has been booked.
  • How can I cancel or change my booking?
Easy, enter the customer area with your credentials and from there you can modify or cancel your booking. Remember that changing dates or canceling with a refund request depends on the rate you chose when booking.
  • Can I transfer my reservation to another person?
For this request, contact the property directly which may have a specific policy in this regard or may need further data on the person to whom you want to transfer the booking.
  • How can I get help with my booking?
Enter the customer area with your credentials and from there you can contact us or by writing through our contact form specifying your booking number and the reason for the contact request. We recommend that you also leave a telephone number where you can be reached in case of need.
  • Are there taxes, local charges or extras to be paid directly on site?
They are normally clearly indicated in the property sheet or added during the booking phase depending on local regulations or the facility's policies. But even if not clearly indicated, payments may be requested directly to the facility for any tourist taxes, local charges or extras not included in the rate. The advice is to read everything carefully before booking or writing to us through our contact form.
  • Are small pets allowed?
It is often clearly stated in the property sheet and for this reason we invite you to carefully read their policies. Where not indicated, we invite you to contact us through our contact form for more information.

Via San Gregorio Armeno

Only for those interested in unique souvenirs
If you think Spaccanapoli is narrow, this street seems even narrower. Perhaps there were more people milling around, and clustering in small groups. We did not stay long.

assolutamente da vedere.
Non puoi non vederla. Caratteristica e splendida.

A voir.

Andateci…

PUESTOS DEDICADOS A PESEBRES

Christmas all year round
If in Naples this alley is a must - we thoroughly enjoyed it - a long street purely Christmas - lovely to walk along and watch along the street things being made or hand painted - we bought a beautiful nativity dome in a shop where we watched the hand painting - amazing.

It's Always Christmas Time on This Street!
This street is very touristy but you get to see some authentic nativity figurines crafted by artisans (as well as some made in China stuff). If you are looking to buy something to add to your Nativity set at home, be sure to measure the standing height one of the figurines that you have so that you can buy the right size/scale.

Overrated!
It is a street coming off spaccanapoli Street.
It is a narrow small street known for the nativity decorations and souvenirs.

Nativity scenes galore
This busy alley in the heart of Naples is famous for its artisan shops selling handcrafted “presepe” or Christmas nativity scene. Also known as Naples’ Christmas Alley, this alley can get extremely crowded as quaint shops selling these figurines spill out into the narrow lane and visitors stop on their tracks to admire the various figurines on display. The figurines are no longer confined to the most typical religious Christmas figures, but have evolved to modern secular characters such as butchers, dancers and footballers. Most of these figurines are not cheap given the painstaking efforts to handcraft them, but getting a Nativity figurine set would definitely make for a unique souvenir from Naples.

Incontournable

Interessante Gasse mitten in Neapels Altstadt
