  • Are the prices always the same even if the date changes?
Prices vary based on various factors which may be seasonal, day of the week, occupancy status of the hotel, promotions, particular fairs in the city and more. The advice, to see the prices, is to enter the dates of your stay and make your own comparisons.
  • Is breakfast always included?
No, it depends on the rate and whether the structure is organized to offer it or not. Check carefully before booking what is included and what is not and what type of service is offered.
  • Can I make special requests?
Of course, when booking you will have a field where you can write directly to the property and make your requests. These will be evaluated by the Hotel who will respond directly to you. MeTour is not responsible in this decision-making process.
  • What types of beds will I find in the room I booked?
The type of bed is usually specified in the room sheet. If you have any special requests or needs you can indicate them at the time of booking by writing them in the "special requests" field which will be forwarded directly to the property. In this process MeTour is not responsible.
  • What is Paga in Structural and what are Payment Pre-Authorisations?
When you book, some facilities offer the possibility of paying directly at the facility. In these cases you will simply be asked to insert your credit (or debit) card to guarantee the booking, but without any charge. The sum will be taken from your credit card only in the cases provided for by the policies and conditions relating to your booking. In other cases, when the Partner does not adopt automatic availability and booking systems, but confirms reservations "manually", then you will be asked to insert your credit (or debit) card to guarantee the reservation, and then be directly charged at the same time as the Partner confirms the booking (within 24-48 hours). At that moment you will receive an email with the booking confirmation and payment.
  • How do I know if my card has been pre-authorized?
By consulting your credit card balance you will see that your available balance will be temporarily reduced by the amount of your booking. In other cases and depending on the policy of your credit card circuit, you may also find an entry in the monthly summary of card movements: "pending operation". The pre-authorization block, depending on the situation, will be maintained according to the policies and terms and conditions of what has been booked.
  • How can I cancel or change my booking?
Easy, enter the customer area with your credentials and from there you can modify or cancel your booking. Remember that changing dates or canceling with a refund request depends on the rate you chose when booking.
  • Can I transfer my reservation to another person?
For this request, contact the property directly which may have a specific policy in this regard or may need further data on the person to whom you want to transfer the booking.
  • How can I get help with my booking?
Enter the customer area with your credentials and from there you can contact us or by writing through our contact form specifying your booking number and the reason for the contact request. We recommend that you also leave a telephone number where you can be reached in case of need.
  • Are there taxes, local charges or extras to be paid directly on site?
They are normally clearly indicated in the property sheet or added during the booking phase depending on local regulations or the facility's policies. But even if not clearly indicated, payments may be requested directly to the facility for any tourist taxes, local charges or extras not included in the rate. The advice is to read everything carefully before booking or writing to us through our contact form.
  • Are small pets allowed?
It is often clearly stated in the property sheet and for this reason we invite you to carefully read their policies. Where not indicated, we invite you to contact us through our contact form for more information.

Have fun, be safe, and enjoy the views! It is worth the challenge!!
We climbed Mount Vesuvius as part of a guided daytrip out of Naples. Our bus dropped us at the staging area. We entered with timed tickets. Our tour manager gave us two hours to climb and return to the starting point. So off we went! Picked up simple walking sticks from a guy just inside the entrance...they were totally worth it, and only cost a few Euros as a tip when we returned them. It was a warm day, but overcast that afternoon. It gets cooler and windier as you climb so be sure to wear good walking shoes, and bring a sweater or jacket, a hat, sunscreen, and bottled water...in a backpack. As we climbed upward, I stopped to shoot photos of the views of the cities of Pompeii and Naples and the Mediterranean and the mountains. Of course I took photos of our progress on the trails, which are rocky and uneven and even slippery at times. This was not an easy climb as you begin hiking at a high elevation and are going higher. In most parts of the trails, there is room for those going up and those going back down. But occasionally the trail narrows so you may have to wait a couple minutes. There were two stations for stops for food and water and restrooms and even souvenirs and gifts. The second one was at the highest point. Most important is to know your capabilities and your limitations. Have fun!! We made it up and back down in just two hours, and were happy and proud to have made the hike!

Lamentable !

Getting to Vesuvius using public transport
We had bought tickets to enter Vesuvius at 15:20 in advance. You can enter up to 40 min before the stated time, and as late as 100 min after.

We took the train from Napoli Porta Nolana to Pompeii Santuario. We went 2-3 hours earlier than the bus to Vesuvius leaves so we could have lunch in Pompeii, making sure we could use the restroom and freshen up before the trek, and not have to rush to the bus. Porta Nolana did not have working monitors to see which platform our train would be at, I would recommend arriving 15 min ahead of time because of that. We bought our tickets using the EAV app, which was pretty easy but you have to authenticate your account using SMS. You could also take the train to Pompeii Villa dei Misteri if you're going earlier like we did, but I would not recommend taking the bus from Villa dei Misteri.

We took the bus 808 from Pompei - P. za Anfiteatro CL. The bus stop is right next to one of the souvenir stands next to the exit from Pompei ruins. It can be tricky to find, it's just a pole with a blue sign. Get there 10-15 minutes in advance to make sure you find it. Also get there in advance because a lot of people will be taking the bus and it might fill up. Make sure to bring cash, preferably coins if you're only buying one ticket at a time. We tried buying the bus ticket in the EAV app, but it was the wrong ticket and we still had to buy the ticket on the bus. I think it was €3,60 - 3,80 per person for a one way ticket.

We took the bus on June 5 at 13:30 and it filled up at Villa Dei Misteri, so I don't recommend planning to take the bus at a stop later than that. The bus driver did have to stop people from entering once it filled because it wasn't the kind of bus that had space for standing travellers.

The bus did have air conditioning, on both trips!

The trek up the mountain did take a lot longer than we thought. It is very (!) steep going up, and slippery because of the gravel on the way down. Don't bring people who can't walk up on their own, eldelry and children, if you have time constraints. It's too much work walking up on your own, I can't imagine having to help someone else at the same time.

Taking the bus back was the same process. It arrived early so people started lining up 15 minutes before departure. It did have standing spaces but it still had to leave people behind that wouldn't fit. We took the bus leaving at 17:00 back.

We took the train from Villa Dei Misteri back to Porta Nolana, shorter train ride but it was a lot more people than the train we took to Pompeii Santuario. It was cramped and we had the stand the whole ride back.

My tips/info for people going to Vesuvius:
- Plan your bus and train times based on the fact that you can enter 40 minutes before your ticket time and 100 minutes after.
- Don't try to save time by taking the bus from Torre del Greco! You can get off the bus there on the way back from the mountain and take the train from there, but I wouldn't risk missing the bus by planning to take it up the mountain from there.
- Don't pack too much and don't bring water! They sell water at several places on the mountain, before, during and after your trek, for regular city prices.
- They have some kind of outside toilet after the entrance, but I didn't try it.
- Bring a print out of your ticket(s)! There is no reception on the mountain and you want to save battery by bringing a print out instead of using a pdf on your phone.
- Bring coins for the bus ticket! The bus driver ran out of change pretty quickly. Both of our bus drivers spoke okay English.
- Your shoes will get super dirty!

Lovely walk and great views
We did this trip with our holiday tour operator and really pleased we did it. We were picked up from our hotel so we had the rep talking to us all the way about Vesuvius and Pompeii etc which was really interesting. I’d read tickets are hard to get if doing it yourself so this was a perfect solution.
I loved the views, and there are information boards on the way up.
We had 1.5 hours allotted and I really felt another half an hour or even an hour would have been better. I don’t think some people could have made it to the top bit of the path in that time, especially if you are stopping to take photos and get your breath!
It’s quite a steep challenging path, dusty and gravelly so harder down than up I thought. Some small steps too.
We walked in the morning before it got too hot, we didn’t need a jumper!
There are some portaloo toilets before you start your walk. And souvenir shops too.
The bus drive up to the start of the walk was lovely too, very green and lots of wild flowers, lovely.
Wear good grippy shoes!
The path circles the crater so you get numerous opportunities to peer down. So even if you can’t manage it all, you can still see in at the first viewpoint.

Well worth the climb
We took this in combining a trip to Herculaneum as well .
We got the Train from Sorrento to Herculaneum and getting our Vesuvius Express combined ticket to Vesuvius it ran very smooth.A bit of a climb for me as i am not fit but i got here in the end it was well worth it .Its Total chaos where the buses drop you off there should be some form of traffic control with the buses rather than a free for all and a bigger parking area for buses to turn but overall a good experience

Pagato a vuoto parcheggio, navetta e una volta arrivata quasi in vetta, impossibilitata all'acquisto on line.

VORHER TICKET KAUFEN!!!‘
Extrem überlaufen - unbedingt vorher online Ticket kaufen!!!!!!!
VORHER TICKET KAUFEN

Hier muss vorher was gekauft werden.
