The best countries for travel and tourism in 2019 according to the World Economic Forum

Every 2 years the World Economic Forum , in collaboration with international organizations including the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), as well as airport authorities and large hotel groups, publishes the Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report, with the ranking of the best 140 destinations in the world.

The report analyzes in detail the four main aspects of the tourist offer: environment, political and economic conditions, infrastructure and cultural and natural resources. But that's not all, because in total there are 90 indicators that make up the Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI). Designed as a tool to understand and anticipate emerging trends and risks in global tourism, thus directing policies and practices to ensure longevity for this strategic sector, the study offers an overview of the level of accommodation in 140 countries around the world, acting as a useful guide for next trips.

When it comes to “Travel & Tourism”, Europe remains, together with Eurasia, the most competitive region. In particular, there have been improvements in air transport, digital connectivity – supported by a growing number of people using the Internet and international openness. Travel has become less expensive and safer, with increasingly competitive prices. The other excellent news is the fourth place gained by Italy in the index dedicated to natural and cultural resources. However, Spain is doing better, in first place in the global ranking of "The Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report 2019" for the third consecutive year, while the United Kingdom is overtaken in terms of competitiveness by the United States.
