Ilala Lodge Hotel

The Ilala Lodge Hotel is outstanding in so many ways = comfortable furnishings in the rooms, delicious breakfast included in the room rate, excellent food in the restaurant for lunch and dinner, and the friendliest staff. I’ve rated the sleep quality as average simply because some local businesses had very loud music blaring well into the night. The hotel management was very receptive to our complaint, and they took it seriously. They were documenting it and trying to work with the local businesses to alleviate the situation.

après des jours passés entre déserts, isolement, rencontres animalières, le retour à la civilisation est à la fois difficile mais très adouci par cette étape. Un peu "colonial" ce lieu est accueillant et très confortable. Les repas sont excellents, la décoration très élégante. Etablissement à quelques centaines de mètres de l'entrée du parc des chutes Victoria.
Les chambres sont agréables et bien équipées.
La restauration est excellente et le service bien qu'un peu lent est de qualité.
A faire ballade en bateau sur le Zambèze au coucher du soleil, randonnée le long des chutes et en bonus un vol en hélicoptère pour bien appréhender la beauté de ces chutes Hors normes.

Abbiamo cenato con amici al ristorante di questo prestigioso lodge hotel. Speravamo di vedere gli ippopotami nel prato circostante, ma purtroppo non si sono fatti vedere. La cena è stata semplice ma buona, con piatti tipici, tra cui la carne di struzzo che ho scelto. I prezzi sono abbastanza alti, ma il servizio è ben curato. L'esperienza, una tantum, merita di essere fatta. Tuttavia, non è il ristorante da frequentare tutti i giorni.ni.

Lodge très bien placé, on peut se rendre aux chutes en 10 min à pieds. Chambre standard au rdc impeccable petite visite des hippopotames un soir. Repas très bien magnifique terrasse très romantique le soir d ou l on voit la brume et où l’on entend les chutes. Avons fait le survol en hélicoptère d un quart d heure le conseillons complète la visite à pieds. Le lodge est à 20 min de l aéroport.

Gebucht in einer Anschluss einer Rundreise wollten wir unbedingt die Victoria Falls besuchen. Ansich ist ds Hotel schön und hat eine gepflegte Anlage nähe der Fälle. Ich hatte Wochen vorher nach bereits erfolgter Buchung versucht mit der Lodge Kontakt aufzunehmen wegen Touren etc. habe aber auch bis heute keine Antwort bekommen. So ausgebucht war es allerdings nicht als wir dort ankamen. Auch Email beantworten gehört zu einem Concierge/Gästeservice dazu!
Zimmer war soweit ok, allerdings hing wie immer die Klimanalage genau neben dem Bett so das man ständig eisklat angepustet wird. Ohne diese ist es aber eben auch nicht zu ertragen. Vielleicht macht man sich irgendwann einmal Gedanken darüber über den Ort an dem so eine Anlage installiert wird!
Leute sind zwar freundlich dort, aber sie vergessen auch sehr schnell was man Ihnen gesagt hat. Frühstücksbuffet ist nichts besonderes. Man kann auch von der Karte bestellen, wenn man Hollandaise zum Frühstück mag. Sie machen aber auch ein norels Omlett wenn man nachfrägt.
Zum Resto, also wenn dies als eines der Besten des Landes bezeichnet wird, möchte ich nicht im Schlechtesten essen müssen. Sehr gut war da eigentlich nichts.
Für das was die Lodge alles geboten hat, war sie total überteuert. Alles in USD.
Ausflug über die Lodge gebucht, eine Night Game Safari plus Dinner für 2 Personen schlappe 358 USD, auch wieder, die erbrachte Leistung rechtfertigt nicht diesen Preis. Witzig ist, es laufen ja wilde Tiere über das Gelände der Lodge, so Warzenscheine, Hippos und auch Elefanten, die Elefanten laufen aber auch quer durch das ganze Städtchen….ob da für Touris ein Schildchen reicht „Vorsicht wilde Tiere“? Ausserhalb des Hotels wird einem natürlich versucht alles Mögliche anzudrehen und das in recht penetranter Weise. Freundlich danke sagen bringt da nix, man rannte uns ziemlich lange hinterher. Erst nachdem man diesem Menschen klar ins Gesicht sagte „Ich wollte vor 10 MInuten nichts kaufen und will es auch jetzt nicht“ nahm man endlich Anstand.
Nochmal zum Hotel zurück - man müsste die Leute etwas mehr auf Service einstimmen und Ihnen begreiflich machen das man nicht ewig auf etwas warten will und vorallem, dass es sich bei den Besuchern auch um arbeitende Menschen hält, die ihr Geld um es dort auszugeben nicht im Schlaf verdienen.

Preis Leistung gegenüber South Africa passt leider nicht! US Doller werden 1:1 mit Euro gerechnet. Wir hatten die Lodge im Gesamtpaket durch eine Rundreise. Schöne gepflegte Anlage mit Warzenscheinen und Affen, tolles Frühstück, wird alles frisch gemacht und gebracht. Die Helis sind natürlich zu hören...

Hotel idéalement situé avec un très joli jardin qui peut recevoir la visite impromptue d'animaux tels qu'éléphants, hippos, impala... un vrai spectacle à quelques mètres des animaux sur la terrasse de la chambre.
Équipe efficace et souriante, organisation d'excursions, restaurant très agréable : grande terrasse !

Non potevo fare scelta migliore per le 5 notti passate a Victoria Falls City, da dove ho visitato le cascate e ho fatto full day tours (Chobe National Park in Botswana e Hwange National Park).
L’albergo è al livello di un 5* e di quello che ho visto, è il più richiesto nella zona sia per alloggio che per il ristorante.
Prenotando direttamente dal sito dell’albergo, ho risparmiato sulla stanza (meno di Booking) e sul trasferimento aeroporto (andata + ritorno ho pagato 28 USD invece di 60 USD del taxi, che costa 30 USD per una sola corsa)
La struttura è molto bella, pulita e ben organizzata, con tanto personale.
Nella mia Luxury Room c’erano varie prese, non c’era bisogno dell’adattatore.
La stanza e il bagno erano molto grandi, con una bella doccia.
Dalla terrazza della stanza ho visto animali nel giardino (facoceri ed elefanti)
Ho mangiato al ristorante tutte le 5 sere, il cibo è buono e abbastanza vario (là ho mangiato per la prima volta le polpette di coccodrillo).
La colazione è buona e varia, una parte al buffet, una parte à la carte (inclusa nel prezzo)
Nell’albergo c’è un ufficio dove si possono prenotare le attività (vengono a prenderti dall’albergo)
Un ringraziamento speciale a Chenai (manager), Sithae (ristorante) e Peter (reception)

Servicio excelente y una ubicación muy cercana al parque de las cataratas hacen de este lodge un lugar fantástico para conocer la maravilla de las Victoria Falls . Ilala es tipo boutique , tiene pocas habitaciones en comparación con los hoteles cercanos y su restaurante tiene mucho prestigio , bien ganado . Las cenas en la terraza o el jardín son inolvidables . Muy recomendable !

Hotel bellissimo e pulitissimo.
Camera favolosa con vista parco e in lontananza sulle cascate ( si vedeva la “nebbia” generata dalla forza dell’acqua ) . personale gentilissimo, ottima colazione e ristorante.

Hotel un poco viejo, en especial los cuartos.
No hay una alberca ni un gimnasio por lo que no ayuda a tu visita.
La atención es buena de la gente, la verdad es que todo muy promedio.
La calificación va más en base a la limpieza del lugar.

Gracias por dejar en Ilala Lodge Hotel una revisión de Tripadvisor. Nos complacerá saber más sobre lo que encontró obsoleto en el hotel. ¿Nuestras habitaciones estándar han sido renovadas recientemente y nuestra ala Deluxe se construyó hace aproximadamente 3 años?
Tenemos una piscina, actualmente están dando servicio y reconstruyendo el área alrededor de la piscina, esperamos que esto esté abierto a fines de febrero.

Hotel muy bonito, muy bien situado (en el centro de Victoria Falls) y con un personal muy amable.
Pasamos tres noches de las que también cenamos en su restaurante, y decir, que la comida está muy buena, y lo ponen muy bonito iluminado con velas en el jardín.
Las habitaciones son amplias y cómodas. Un muy buen lugar para quedarse en Victoria Falls.
