The House of Sandeman - Hostel & Suites

Excellent. The atmos was chilled and relaxed. Everyone we spoke to was having a good time and liked the hotel. The staff were professional but approachable and friendly. The food was delicious. Room ideal with a great view. Perfect.

A brief stay to also take in a Champions League game, The Sandeman was excellent value for money and highly recommended. I visited with my youngest Son and stayed in a 14 bed dorm which was spacious with 4 bathrooms. The bed frames with privacy curtains were a nod to the Port heritage. A good breakfast which was complementary ensured a great start to the day despite inclement weather. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who provided an emergency toothbrush and organised a Cellar Tour for us. Check in/out was vey smooth and we were contacted within 24 hours of our leaving to ask for feedback. A great stay!

Estuve en la habitación de camas compartidas, y asi todo casi que no te dabas cuenta si estabas en un hostel o un hotel. Siempre impecable, la cama muy cómoda, los locker con sistema de cerrado, la ducha excelente. La atención del equipo un 10 todo el tiempo y el desayuno una delicia. La ubicación y la vista hacen que sea soñado este hostel

Struttura storica arredata con uno stile particolare/caratteristico che personalmente ho apprezzato. Ambiente caldo e accogliente. Ho trovato tutto estremamente pulito sia nella camera che nelle zone in comune. Ho trovato molto interessante anche la posizione che presenta a pochi minuti vari ristoranti dove poter mangiare bene. Personale giovane, professionale e attento. Bravi.

Unici due punti su cui secondo me si potrebbe migliorare: nella camera che ho avuto (15) metterei degli scaffali o qualcosa dover poter appoggiare le proprie cose più facilmente/comodamente. Infine la colazione, avrei gradito qualche proposta tipica portoghese in più.

Lo primero que llamo mi atención al reserva en Sandeman fue el diseño de las camas de forma de bodega, la ubicación y precio. Al llegar la bienvenida fue breve pero exacta ya que no estaba mi cama lista, guardaron mi equipaje y super bien. Al darme la llave de mi habitación la chica en recepción super amable me explico todo lo que incluía mi reserva, lugares para conocer, etc. Destaco el desayuno incluido y el trago de bienvenida, poco usual o nunca ante visto en Hostel. La habitación muy amplia, los baños bien equipados y con amenities necesarios. En conclusión, es un hospedaje que supero todas mis expectativas y sin duda lo recomendare y volveré si regreso por Oporto. Éxitos!

Maravillosa Suite con vistas al Duero, que es inmejorable para empezar el camino.
La suite es amplísima y magníficamente decorada , con unas vistas insuperables.
La cama amplia y confortable y el entorno de la bodega de Sandeman da un sabor especial a la estancia en este hotel.
El desayuno se pide por adelantada la parte caliente para los huéspedes de las suites , y aunque es algo escaso se compensa con un entorno maravilloso pudiendo desayunar con las vistas al Duero que te dan un extra para empezar el camino.
Por lo que puedo decir que la única pena , es que solo pasamos una noche, ya que lo tomamos como punto de partida del camino de Santiago

Sehr nettes Personal, geschmackvoll eingerichtet, super sauber, tolle Lage und Ausblick. Sehr zentral und doch ruhig gelegen. Super organisiert vom checkin über das Frühstück bis zum Checkout. Vonunserem Doppelzimmer direkt über der sandeman bar „George“ hatten wir einen einmaligen Blick auf den Duoro und ganz Porto.

Une AJ magnifique tres bien tenue, où nous avons été très bien reçues. Les dortoirs sont très agréables, entre les lits et les salles de bains, le confort est au rendez vous.
Même en pleine saison le prix du dortoir était très abordable. Avis aux routards : une excellente adresse pour se ressourcer.
Points bonus pour la vue depuis la salle commune et l'ambiance cocon de cet endroit charmant !

Une équipe formidable dans un lieu original très propre et bien situé. La vue sur le Douro est très agréable. Le personnel est très dévoué et à l'écoute. Personnel super accueillant et toujours très cordiale. Petit déjeuner très variés et excellent. La propreté des chambres il n'y a rien à redire. Séjour parfait. Personnel à l'écoute des besoins de la clientèle.

La ubicación es genial, y el diseño del interior nos encantó. A destacar el trato del personal y el ambiente que se crea. No te pierdas las cenas de la abuela !:) Si puedes reserva la doble con vistas !

Sehr sauberes Hotel, das nicht nur junge Reisende anspricht. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Frühstück, es wird über einen QR-CODE vorbestellt, gibts in einem großen Raum. Es ist ausreichend und gut, wenn auch nicht abwechslungsreich. Die meisten Gäste nutzen dabei den großen Tisch. Das Verhalten der Teilnehmer:innen an diesem Tisch ist manchmal gewöhnungsbedürftig. Unser Zimmer war mit Blick auf den Duoro und auf Porto.

Abbiamo prenotato solo due settimane prima e gli unici posti erano in camerata da 14 letti, viaggiavamo come coppia più nostra figlia adolescente. La soluzione in camerata ci ha sorpreso perché lascia comunque molta privacy, ogni letto è da una piazza e mezza, ben separato dagli altri. È comodo, ogni giorno viene rifatto, la stanza è climatizzata, alle volte l’aria condizionata è un po’ eccessiva ma i letti sono dotati di un piumone leggero. I bagni sono forse l’unica cosa da migliorare, per 14 letti ci sono quattro bagni, sempre abbastanza puliti e forniti di saponi e shampoo di alta qualità, ma spesso dopo che qualcuno fa una doccia si allaga il pavimento! Consiglio di aggiungere delle tende e dei tappetini! Si possono migliorare! Invece ottimo lo spazio comune, alla sera si può bere un bicchiere di porto ottimo, di vario tipo, ai prezzi migliori della città! La colazione è sempre uguale, non molto assortita e se restate per qualche giorno un po’ annoia. Nel complesso ci siamo trovati bene anche perché la posizione è splendida! C’è una vista bellissima! Se tornassi a Porto ci tornerei!

Das Zimmer, der Service und die Atmosphäre des Hostels sind wunderbar. Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer und wurden kostenlos in ein größeres Zimmer upgegradet. Das Frühstück (bei einem extra Zimmer, nicht Hostelbett, mit extra Früchten, pancakes und Eierspeisen) und unser gesamter Aufenthalt ließen nichts zu wünschen übrig. Auch die Lage des Hotels an den Portweinkellereien ist sehr schön.

Nicht nur der Ausblick auf die Ribeira von Porto und den Douro-Fluss sind fantastisch. Auch die Zimmer sind sehr gut eingerichtet. Der Empfang war sehr, sehr freundlich. Auf unser Frühstück mussten wir etwas warten, was aber auch daran lag, dass gerade alle frühstücken wollten. Ds Warten hat sich aber gelohnt, denn es hat ganz wunderbar geschmeckt und war mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Wir können diese Hotel sehr empfehlen.

Esattamente nel centro di Porto si trova questo fantastico ostello! Noi abbiamo scelto la suite con bagno in camera : magnifica, pulita e ci hanno anche fatto l'upgrade gratuitamente alla suite con vista sul fiume. Pulitissima e con ogni accessorio che possa servire, persino un giradischi in stanza. Personale gentilissimo, bar con prezzi onestissimi, colazione inclusa e cene a 7.5 euro.
Atmosfera molto famigliare e rilassante nella sala comune Consigliatissimo!!!

Arrivati con qualche difficoltà tra le scale e le viuzze dalla metro all'hotel, ma valeva la pena. Camera in hotel, con vista Douro, al piano di sotto ostello, ancora sotto le cantine Sandeman. Si tratta di una splendida Quinta, dove tutto parla del vino, del vino Porto. Dai quadri nelle camere, al cerchio di ferro(provenienza dalla botti) in bagno che circonda lo specchio, al fili di vite intorno ai lampadari nella hall/sala da pranzo, o nell'ingresso dell'ostello. Bellissimo l'ambiente familiare ,si mangia tutti nello stesso tavolone per l'abbondante colazione (splendida anche seduto davanti ai tetti con visione fiume e Porto), per il the delle 17 con biscottini e torta fatta in casa e per la cena. I ragazzi , le ragazze sono gentilissimi ed efficienti, non sembra di stare in albergo ma in una grande famiglia. Che dire della camera con vista fiume e della citta di Porto , dai colori dell'alba fino alle luci del tramonto, uno splendore. La struttura è completamente rinnovata, pulita ed in ordine. Ho mangiato anche a cena con loro un ottimo baccalà ( prezzo di 7,5 euro) ma tutto buono ed abbondante. La visita e la degustazione del vino nella cantina sotto non necessita di ulteriori commenti. Davvero una bellissima esperienza da ripetere . Complimenti ragazzi!! Sicuramente da consigliare.

Sicuramente l’ostello più elegante e ordinato in cui io sia mai stato. Camere molto rifinite, bagno in comune per la camera e non per il piano. Cassaforte personale per gli oggetti di valore. Ci tornerò. Molto accogliente anche la lounge. The delle 5 offerto dalla casa. Wi-Fi ottimo!

Die Kombination aus Hotel und Hostel ist eine erfrischende Art eines Gästehauses. Ein sehr freundliches und bemühtes Personal macht einem den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm. Es begegnen sich Menschen wie sie unterschiedlicher kaum sein können. Der Ausblick auf die Altstadt Portos ist fantastisch der Service extrem aufmerksam. Die Lage ist perfekt für allerlei Ausflüge zu Fuß. Das einige Negative am Haus , was aber der gesamten Zufriedenheit nur einen sehr kleinen Abbruch tut, ist die Kaffeekapselmaschine im Gemeinschaftsraum, für die alle Suite-Gäste zum Frühstück eine Kaffeekapsel serviert bekommen. Es ist wünschenswert, diese durch einen Kaffeevollautomaten zu ersetzen, aber das ist nur meine persönliche Ansicht. Ich möchte das Haus dennoch jedem empfehlen, der es nicht so steif wie in einem Hotel erleben will. Denn das ist es wirklich gar nicht.
