Two rooms, two different styles

The Albucasis room is named after the prestigious Andalusian doctor and scientist, born in the Omeya Cordoba in the 10th century. Set in a single space of 21m2, the bedroom and living room rest on original 19th century hydraulic floors in a continuous area that leads to the bathroom with a rain shower, separated only by glass walls.

The Alcaicería room takes its name from the silk market, as it was called in Al-Andalus, located very close to the hotel. Set in a single space of 23m2, it preserves the original 19th century hydraulic floor, offers a bedroom and living area in the same environment and has a large glass-walled bathroom with a rain shower.

The Ras Lain room takes its name from an Arabic place name whose literal translation is “head of the fountain”, the name of a remote Moroccan village with which the Hotel Madinat feels close. Arranged in a single space of 23m2, it preserves the original hydraulic floor from the 19th century. It offers a bedroom and living area in the same room and has a large bathroom with glass walls and a rain shower.

The Alhóndiga room is named after the buildings where the ancient Andalusian travellers stayed. On the ceiling, a prominent wooden beam reminds us of the firmness over the centuries; on the floor, original hexagonal hydraulic tiles from the 19th century compete to stand out in a continuous space of 23m2, where the bedroom and living room coexist and where the sofa becomes a comfortable bed, ideal for accommodating a third person. The spacious bathroom is part of a whole, only interfered with by glass walls.

The Adarve room takes its name from the alleys that lead to private houses in medieval Islamic cities. Located on the first floor of the hotel, it is arranged in a unique space of 26m2 in which the original 19th century hydraulic floor and old wooden ceilings are preserved as a carpet. It has a living area, two balconies overlooking the majestic central courtyard of the Madinat hotel and a comfortable bathroom with glass walls and a rain shower.

The Alcazaba room is named after the Arab citadel, al-qasbah, which served as the residence of the emir or caliph. With high ceilings and upper windows, this 27m2 room preserves the original 19th century hydraulic floors as a tapestry. It offers a bedroom and a living area with a sofa that can be converted into a comfortable bed to accommodate a third person, all in the same environment. Glass walls and a rain shower are the main features of the bathroom.

The Albolafia room is named after the mill with a large waterwheel located on the banks of the Guadalquivir, next to the Roman bridge in Córdoba. Located on the ground floor, it has a large window overlooking the majestic central courtyard, with views of the Arab-Andalusian well. Set in a single space of 27 m2, it preserves the original hydraulic floor from the 19th century and has an Arabic bathtub or hammam at one end of the room, and a comfortable bathroom with glass walls and a rain shower at the other.

The Alcoba room is named after the Arabic al-qubba (vaulted room where valuables were kept) due to the canopy with which the bed is covered. It is located on the ground floor, with its entrance through the main courtyard and two large windows overlooking Calleja de los Arquillos, where an episode of the Cantar de Gesta de los Infantes de Lara took place. The ornamental mouldings and colourful hydraulic floors, all original from the 19th century, have been restored. Spread over a single space of 23 m2, it offers a bedroom and a living area with a bathtub in the same room, as well as a large and comfortable bathroom with glass walls and a rain shower.

Two spectacular deluxe double rooms with bathtubs located in the first wing of the house and in the central courtyard, traditionally the most noble, facing Calle Cabezas and Calleja de los Arquillos and where both the hydraulic floors and some original paintings and plasterwork from the 19th century have been restored.

Our Princesa Walada room takes its name from the Andalusian poetess, daughter of the ephemeral caliph Muhammad al Mustakfi (Córdoba, 994-1091). Its location coincides with the old noble area of ​​the house, hence its frescoes, mouldings and hydraulics, all restored and original from the 19th century. With a balcony in each of its rooms, divided by arches, in one there is a 2x2 King Size bed and in another a spectacular bathtub with views of Calleja de los Arquillos, where an episode of the Cantar de Gesta de los Infantes de Lara takes place.

Our Ibn Zaydun room is a tribute to the great Andalusian poet born in the Umayyad Cordoba of the 11th century. Located in the former noble hall of the building, it has two large balconies facing Calle Cabezas. The frescoes on the walls, the mouldings and the outstanding rose window, as well as the magnificent hydraulic floor, have been restored, all original from the 19th century. A large bathtub incorporated into the bedroom is the star of the space.

Hamama Room. The name of this room means dove in Arabic and recalls the house's old dovecote, as well as the treatise on love and lovers written by Ibn Hazm (Córdoba, 994-Huelva, 1064), an Andalusian poet and author of the Collar de la Paloma.

Its 40m2 have a privileged location in the highest part of the house with a view of the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba. The room has a private staircase that leads to a large open-plan room, with hydraulic flooring and reclaimed wood from the 19th century, where a 3m2 pool-style bathtub and a king-size bed predominate, as well as a large bathroom with glass walls and a rain shower.
