Olive Magrath - By Embassy Group

This is a basic hotel well located on Magrath Road, a short walk from Residency Road and MG Road. Garuda Mall is also right next to it. The Olive Magrath is a small hotel not to be confused with the Grand Magrath which is a few steps away, and is a pricier and I suppose better hotel.

I stayed for two nights, and like I said, the experience was not bad, it wasn’t great…just basic. The room was just about adequate for one person with a double bed, a small table and chair, and a closet. The attached bathroom was of moderate size. Everything was, well, basic. It was air conditioned and clean…not much else to say. Breakfast was included in my rate, and again it was very basic with a minimal selection of items.

Overall, I would recommend it for a short stay for a budget conscious solo traveler who would like to be in a good location and wouldn’t mind the lack of amenities.

Though it is labeled as a 3-star or a budget hotel, I would classify this more as a basic boutique with a cool concept. One that is specially designed for Digital nomads and business travelers. Certainly a refreshing break from the typical designs of the classic Business hotels in this neighborhood. And at the phenomenally low price I paid for this(given this great location!), it was a steal.

LOCATION: Excellent location in the heart of the business district and a stone’s throw away from the iconic GARUDA MALL.

DINE + DRINK: Though they advertise a Room service menu, they dont have a bar or restaurant on site. But you are close to tons of cool restaurants, bars, and cafes.

ROOM: We stayed in Room G-101, so this review is based on that; SIZE: Spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; VIEW: No Great view, and a bit claustrophobic as this is on the ground floor and blocked by trees and buildings around making it feel dark all the time! ; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting us to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: Decent quality toiletries by the hotel’s branding

FACILITIES: No Gym or pool on site. But they have many recreational facilities like Table tennis, Foosball, etc. And also has a great Co-working space and conference areas in a beautifully designed Rooftop area. Great for Workaction and digital nomads!

SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel at home and well taken care of.

HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all over the property, and the speed is a bit slow(~ 20 Mbps) Small Smart TV that is connected to all sorts of apps for streaming and great to keep yourself entertained!

My stay was very wonderful, the staff was very helpful, especially the hotel manager, brother anurag And the workers at the reception, as well as the service worker and the security guard, all were helpful with me, and I did not feel any shortage during the days of my stay at the hotel. I'll start with a massive thank you to all the staffs of Olive Magrath particularly Anurag, Pavithra, Albin & Roshan. These individuals have portrayed such great hospitality and service level beyond excellence throughout my stay in Olive. Indeed a blessing to Embassy group for having them.

This is my 2nd round of stay in the bustling city of Bangalore. Situated right in the heart of Bangalore, Olive is definitely my first choice amongst some other accommodations I've stayed in during my month long trip here. Equipped with all the basic necessities such as the TV, AC, water heater, WiFi and etc, Olive also offers a complete set up of meeting hall, private meeting room, and a game room which caters to my work needs. The location is so strategic that everything is just within minutes of walking distances.

As I'm travelling solo away from my home country, I will always factor in 2 considerations when it comes to my choice of accommodation. Cleanliness & Feeling-at-home. From the front doorway to my room, the entire vicinity is always well maintained and clean at the best level. To my best understanding, Olive Magrath is always fully booked and occupied but they are still able to keep the cleanliness level with that many visitors in and out of the area. Perfect. Being away from home for a long period is indeed challenging but coming back to Olive after a hectic day of work had somehow filled a portion of that "loneliness" in me, if you get what I'm saying. Those greetings with huge smiles have definitely made me feel a sense of belonging. A highly recommended choice of stay for everyone!

Well, please pardon me for being long-winded in my review but I felt the need to properly complement Olive for making my stay here a memorable and remarkable one. Again, special thanks to Anurag, Pavithra, Albin & Roshan. Keep up the great job and my best wishes to all of you.

I would call myself a resident of Olive Magrath as I stay here almost every month. The staff are very polite and welcoming. I never faced any problem with the services. They would call me a day before to check my room preference and the time I would reach the property to ensure a smooth check in. There were times when I was 2-3 hours early to my check in time and they never hesitated to check me in early. In case the bookings are full, they used to give me the access to the common area in the terrace which have beautiful Workstations, Coffe Machine, Foosball Table and Smart TV. Anurag is a kind person who personally checks with me if everything is ok and if there is any issue. Not only the rooms, but also the common areas, lobby and the terrace are always clean. Anything you ask, it is delivered on time. The best part is that everyone of them are always smiling and welcoming. I have stayed at “so called 5 Star” hotels but never been satisfied like this. It is safe and most importantly it feels like home.
