Special Dedication: A Tribute to Gennaro
I would like to point out, before any criticism, that this is not a normal and usual piece of news or travel advice, but if you have the kindness to read, in a few lines, you will understand and perhaps you will excuse me.
I consider this column a bit like a book, written with you and for you, a book of travel advice, with suggestions of destinations to visit, experiences to live, things to avoid, museums to visit, foods or traditions to do not lose. A book that allows us to discuss topics that are important to us such as traveling in solidarity and the successes or improvements that we hope for those traveling with "special needs". A book for travel lovers that is aimed at just as many enthusiasts.
But as in any good book, the author is granted a license, that of dedicating his book to a person. I would like to dedicate this "book", but above all the entire MeTour.it project to Gennaro!!
Gennaro: The Essence of a True Traveler
A son, brother, friend, good and gentle man, who loved and let himself be loved like few others, generous, ready and available for friends and relatives to fulfill wishes and needs without ever sparing himself. A man who lived his life with diligence, rectitude and a sense of daily duty and who allowed himself only one distraction, only one concession: Travelling!! He was what is defined as a TRUE TRAVELER: passionate, curious, eager to learn about new places, traditions, customs and foods. Like Christopher Columbus or Magellan, he began the journey months before leaving, planning it, studying the route, analyzing the destination, the itinerary to travel, the museums to visit, the history, the excellences of the place, without neglecting the people, their traditions, the foods... to make every holiday unforgettable for himself, but above all for his faithful friends who accompanied him.
An Interrupted Dream: The Impact of Covid-19 on a Shared Passion
A man who had immediately approved and supported this MeTour.it project of ours, sharing its Vision and making his passionate experience available, a project where, one day, once his duty towards his homeland was over, he would have liked to use himself to give his daily intake. Unfortunately he didn't even have time to see its publication, the damned Covid took it away, but I am convinced that, wherever he is, he continues to support us and give us his advice, without neglecting to plan and dream about the next trip!
