Another amazing holiday in our special Hotel
This was our fourth stay at this amazing hotel, and we are back there in two weeks and I literally can’t wait. This hotel is outstanding, the staff can’t do enough for you, the rooms with beach view are incredible and the infinity pool is probably the best in the world, it’s certainly the highest and the views of the palm are incredible. An amazing experience but let down by poor service on arrival
We did the ‘Swim under the stars experience’ at the infinity pool.
Overall it was an amazing experience with breathtaking views and great food to accompany the experience. We went as a 4, with two of our friends visiting us here in Dubai. Atmosphere is great with a DJ and bar, and although fully booked it doesn’t feel crowded.
We went for the gazebo for 4 which works out as 650 AED per couple, fully redeemable on food and drinks. We ordered spring rolls, tempura prawns, fries and beef sliders. The food was exceptional, being served quickly and tasted fantastic. Could not fault it.
Drink prices are on the high side at 71 AED for a beer, however this is expected being at the Address.
Negatives:
Customer service on arrival let down our experience. We booked over a week in advance and also telephoned on the morning of the booking to double check everything was ok. Which we were told it was.
We arrived one hour prior to our booking for a gazebo. Greeted by friendly staff however when we were escorted outside it was clear no gazebos were available.
The staff began discussing the matter and tried to spilt our party of 4 up by offering us two sun beds in the pool and a gazebo close by for 2.
When I began questioning why a gazebo for 4 was not reserved for us, having had it confirmed several times, we then got told its first come first serve, which is not mentioned anywhere at any stage of the booking.
I challenged this and I politely asked staff to find us a gazebo for 4, as per our confirmed booking. The staff told us it would be difficult as other guests wont want to move. I told them I understand but as we booked in advance and rang in the morning to confirm all ok with the booking, why has a gazebo for 4 not been reserved before offering them out to all other guests? It shouldn’t be the case that a booking for 4 is not kept free.
The staff were reluctant to solve the issue so I asked for a refund if it could not be done and to speak to the manager. The staff seemed happy to provide a refund without trying to find us a gazebo. I was then told to give them ten minutes while they tried to arrange something.
After excessive and unnecessary complaining the staff finally arranged a gazebo for the 4 of us. It was a shame that this took 20 minutes since arrival with myself having to complain, when all we were asking for was literally what we had booked.
Sadly the gazebo we did get was probably the worst spot possible on the deck, opposite the dj booth which was super noisy and no access to the pool infront of you. Again, extremely disappointing having blocked so early in advance, and also bringing visiting friends with us to show them Dubai, we wanted them to have the best experience.
The Buzzer for requesting service also didnt seem to work on our gazebo. With all 4 of us pressing ours multiple times and noone coming to serve us. We had to wave staff down to make our orders. However this improved as the evening went on, and the service was great. All staff very friendly and professional.
Would we return? Possibly because of the view and experience, but not unless our booking can be guaranteed, to avoid the poor start we had on this occasion. There needs to be a better system that if you make a reservation, you turn up and it is actually reserved for you. Especially when paying 1300 AED for a gazebo for 4 people.
