#24 of 38 hotels in Tignes

Brilliant location!
4 of us stayed here for 4 nights- the location was unbelievably convenient. 30s walk from 3 different ski hire shops and ski lockers in hotel to leave equipment. It was then less than 100m to Tufs chair lift. Which you could actually get on your skis and pole to. There are lots of bars and restaurants close by to suit all ages.
Hotel room was very spacious, warm and clean with a good shower. Balcony had an amazing few of the mountains. Hotel is dated but location made up for this.
There were no glasses in the room if you wanted to drink tap water which was really odd and no kettle/fridge either.
The breakfast was extra 15 euros and was average at best. We only eat there once.
One of the receptionists was lovely and helpful but the other was really rude. Zero manners.
Overall we would defo return to the Hotel, location, convenience for skiing and views was just brilliant.

Very Disappointing
Very disappointing from the moment that we arrived.
Upon arrival the room was very cold. You could feel the breeze blowing through the badly fitted balcony door. As the reception closes at 7pm there was nobody to speak to about this accept the barman. He couldn't be of any help to us.
The room was adequate but nothing more, but did have good views of the mountains (we had paid over £100 extra each for a mountain view though!)
The bar (which they highlight on their website) was only open on two evening that week.
Breakfast was very basic indeed. The only warm offering was boiled eggs.
Dinner was served in the Bistro below, which is independently run. There are no choices of meals. You get what they give you on that day. In our case every day it was fish. Normally Salmon. No meat dish was offered throughout our stay. But you could pay an extra 10 Euros for a small piece of Steak and Chips. The service was poor. On one occasion we were brought the cheese course before we had had our main course! On another evening we were brought our dessert before our main course. The portions were very small but the people I was with said the food was OK (I don't eat fish).
The hotels location is very good. Not far from the Tuffs lift and very close to the bars and shops.
The boot room is very small but OK, certainly not enough room for the amount of guests at the hotel to get in, so you sometimes had to wait for some space.
If this was a really cheap holiday you can accept these niggles, but it wasn't particularly cheap.
For slightly less money last season we stayed at the Hotel Palfour in Le Lac, which was a brilliant hotel with great rooms, food, location and spa. A totally different experience. Perhaps that is why we felt so disappointed with the Curling.
This really is a self catering apartment complex that has some rooms used as a hotel. They are not set up as a hotel and it shows.
Would I stay at the Curling Hotel again? - Definitely not. There is far better out there for a similar price.

More hostel than hotel, but can’t get more central
More of a hostel standard than a hotel. A group of young lads would be more than happy in it. Curtains hanging off the rail, plug in heater in the room so you know the temperature isn’t going to be sufficient, grubby toilet, no glassware whatsoever, paper cups. No kettle or coffee machine. Very noisy location but it is central so can’t blame the hotel for that. Only stayed one night between other accommodation. Friendly and helpful staff, thank you, but would not stay again.

Disappointed
The hotel is in a central location and a close walk to the Tufs lift.
Because of the location we were kept awake most nights by screaming and shouting from the local bars that stay open till 0200hrs. Clearly an issue as the hotel supplies ear plugs.
When raised with the hotel staff, they blamed the English. So if you are English and like shouting and screaming outside bars until the wee hours, this is the perfect hotel for you.
Rooms need updating.
Breakfast is a basic continental spread.
Evening meal in Laks bistro was ok, lacked imagination and small portions.
Ski lockers didn't seem to warm boots overnight. I did raise it with staff but the next day the boots still had ice on them. After that we dried boots in room on radiator. With -23 temperatures warm dry boots is essential.
