I often rely on TripAdvisor reviewer recommendations. I'm glad we ignored the mostly old and less than complimentary reviews for this restaurant. We had such wonderful meals that we spent 2 evenings at les Vapeurs. Some of the best onion soup and moules Normande with frites that we've ever had. We followed the "chef vous propose" suggestions and had fresh scallops - again, some of the best we've every eaten! We ate mostly seafood while in France but I thoroughly enjoyed their simply grilled lamb. The green salad with bacon was extraordinary. We also had good wines, beer, and - at the end of dinner - complimentary glasses of Calvados. We had been to a Calvados maker and had enjoyed some much older Calvados than was served at les Vapeurs, but theirs was fine.

I gave Les Vapeurs a second chance. It did not deserve it. While they used to serve the best mussels, this is no longer the case. I always take the moules à la crème but they were disappointing. The sauce was not as tasty and the French fries are no longer included. They count as extra. But the biggest disappointment was the dessert - again a huge decline. The baba au rum used to be delicious. Now it is fabricated in advance and soggy. Rather than add the rum at the end onto a fresh baba, the rum, syrup and chantilly cream are added in advance and the whole soggy baba sits in the fridge for days. It’s horrible.

A really good lunch in a busy restaurant in a lively spot in the town. Smoked Haddock was sublime; great value and excellent service

So pleased to discover Les Vapeurs Restaurant in Trouville (open on Sundays till 9.30 pm). Staff very welcoming - great service - special mention to Julia our waitress. I can recommend the Herrings 14€ to start - delicious ! We then both enjoyed a dish of smoked Haddock on a bed of spinach, potatoes with a poached egg as our main course 28€. Dessert was an île flottant 10€ and a Crêpe Suzette 14€ and coffee to finish. It was a Sunday so parking was easy to find.

Ci siamo passati davanti per 3 giorni. Non ispira fiducia alla vista. Sembra un posto accalappia turisti. Consigliato dalla proprietaria di casa e letta qualche recensione su TripAdvisor ci siamo decisi a provarlo.

Il locale è onestamente vecchio....non si può dire antico. È vecchio. Andrebbe rinnovato perché non si può dire che è stato tenuto sempre uguale.
Ciò premesso abbiamo.mangiato molto bene.
Ostriche (sei), cozze à la creme (ottime), moules marineire, costine agnello alla griglia, un filetto di merluzzo. Un litro di vino bianco Muscade, acqua e coca. 5 persone. 125 euro.
Servizio alla francese. Inizialmente antipatici, poi invece impeccabili e gentili. Nulla da dire se non grazie per la bella serata.
Raccomandato. Non ci si pente.

Llegamos cansados y tarde a Trouville y con una nina de tres anos. Realmente no es la mejor manera de salir a cenar. Pero decidimos salir a tomar el aire y nos acogieron en Les Vapeurs.

Servicio rapido pero simpàtico. El producto de primera calidad; un cabillaud fresco en dos versiones diferentes, una sopa de pescado excelente y los clàsicos bulots mayo como sacados del agua. Con el café, una copita de calvados ofrecida. Agradable detalle. El precio es un poco elevado (con vino, agua con gas y una coca-cola 99€) pero creo que la calidad lo justifica.

Pesce fresco e di ottima qualità. Scelta di vini discreta. Ambiente turistico, servizio rapido. Personale abbastanza cortese.

Affiancato a Le Central offre piatti analoghi e servizio egualmente efficiente. E' anche questa brasserie un esempio di come si può fare ristorazione di massa senza perdere in qualità ed efficienza. Ottime le lumache di mare. L'atmosfera è turistica ma di buon livello, come del resto dappertutto a Trouville. Apprezzabile che restino aperti anche fino a tarda ora. Ci siamo andati dopo una (disastrosa) puntatina al vicino Casinò.

Nunca pierdo la oportunidad de ir aux Vapeurs cuando estoy en trouville, pará tener una mesa en terraza es mejor reservar. Las "moules" (mejillones) son especialidad del lugar! Recomendadas!

Ich war lange, mindestens 10 Jahre, nicht mehr im Les Vapeurs. Meine Frau bestellte Miesmuscheln, die sehr klein waren und der Sud war nicht pikant. Mein Kabeljau war ein wenig trocken und die Kartoffeln ungenügend gesalzen.
Der Service war freundlich und professionell.

para un aperitivo en terraza antes de ir a comer o cenar està bien. Lo ideal es comerse unas ostras en terraza con un blanco bueno...despues un postre o unos quesos...y te vas...lo demas es inutil, sin sorpresa, banal y no muy bueno...pero caro! o sea...disfruta del ambiente del aperitivo y despues iros a cenar a otro sitio...no sé cual...en todas partes se come fatal en este pueblo

…im französischen Sinn. Voll, laut, eng, seit 1928 immer gut besucht,beste Lage am Hafen, klassische Brasserie -Küche, wer mehr erwartet muss wo anders hingehen. Die Kellner immer unter Dampf, aber freundlich und professionell, einige sind seit 29 - 30 Jahren da und kennen Ihre Klientel. Meist gutes und interessantes Publikum, Berührungsängste sind fehl am Platze, Zur prime time 20.30 - 21.30 unbendingt reservieren. Gute offene und Flaschenweine zu fairen preisen, das Essen gut, etwas teuer, Fisch und normannische Spezialitäten sollte man unbedingt probieren, gute Qualität und grosse Portionen.Die Desserts wunderbar.

Kann das Restaurant wirklich sehr empfehlen. Ein wenig schwierig zu finden,keine Terasse,doch sonst alles perfekt.
