Amazing and Excellent stay at The shire Homestay.
• Me and my family stayed at the shire Homestay from 22 may to 25 may 2024.
• It is surrounded by green nature, have a very beautiful gardening and
Breathtaking Mountain views, sitting here sip tea in the garden and enjoying the
best of nature could bring.
• The shire homestay is Located very close to Mg Marg about 8 to 10 mins of
walking distance.
• Rooms are pretty, lovely, clean and were cleaned every day.
• Mr. karma and his family are very nice person, Mr. Karma and his mother took care
us like their family. His mother cooks very tasty and healthy food.
• He arranged transport from NJP to GANGTOK and Gangtok to NJP, apart from
this also arranged trip for Nathula pass, Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, changu
lake and local sightseen.
• We are really satisfied with all facilities provided during our stay and we really
loved this place.

Great stay with kind and humble hosts
We came here on a family vacation for a week. We had a wonderful time here. The rooms were clean and classy. The shire is very close to MG Marg and yet secluded and gives you a peaceful and serene stay. Mr. Karma and his family are great people and took care of us really well. His mother’s cooking is very tasty and healthy. The garden and Mountain View is amazing. Overall, if you are visiting Gangtok, close your eyes and book your stay here. It’s worth it.

what a great homestay!!!
My 3-day-stay at the Shire was simply amazing. I had no particular expectation before arrival. …. And I left the place with a broken heart to keep on my journey. This homestay really gives you a sense of being at home. Mummy Norkey and Son Karma Tempa are on top of the game. They made us feel very welcome, always asking if needed something. Food was delicious and various throughout our stay. We had no wish whatsoever to go eat in town when we knew it would be delicious and healthy at the Shire. The place is quiet (really quiet! I swear!) even if it is the middle of the city. We had great conversations with Norkey and Karma Tempa. They shared with us their knowledge about the Lepcha culture, treks, religions, gastronomy, biodiversity and orchids. I highly recommend you stay with them. Plus on a lucky day you can see the Kanchenjunga from their terrasse. Amazing !

Blissful stay at The shire
It has been a Great stay .
The shire located at heart of Gangtok city with Kanchanjunga peak view. I and my friend stayed for three nights , all three days stay The host at Homestay karma and his mother Norkie took care us like their family. Highlight of the stay is their Home made traditional food they serve at homestay.
Karma the orchid expert is the key Member at shire. He always ready to share his local flora and fauna knowledge along with local traditions practiced by local Indigenous community. One should walk around the property with karma to learn endemic orchids. Overall we had a memorable stay can't wait to visit back ..

Wonderful Gangtok
The house is simply exquisite. The food excellent. Very conveniently located close to the mall. Very nice and hospitable people. From being recieved at the railway station to being dropped at the airport. Transport for local sightseeing and distant everything was arranged by the hosts.
