We had an amazing long weekend on Sir Bani Yas Island!
Long weekend... we decided to go as a family to Desert Islands Resort & Spa By Anantara on Sir Bani Yas Island and did not regret it.
Sir Bani Yas Island is a protected wildlife sanctuary off the coast of Abu Dhabi, founded by His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The island is home to free-roaming animals, including the nearly extinct Arabian oryx, gazelles and giraffes. Also located here is the only discovered Christian monastery in the UAE. It is believed that the monastery was built around 600 AD. e. and abandoned in 750 AD. BC but was rediscovered during excavations in 1992.
We drove for almost three hours on an excellent road from Abu Dhabi to Anantara Desert Island – Arrival Center. Here we left the car in a well-equipped parking lot, and we, together with several other guests, went by boat to the island. The boat ride took about 20 minutes. Then another fifteen minutes from the pier to the hotel.
The hotel treated us with care from the moment we got out of the car at the hotel entrance.
Beautiful hotel design with traditional local elements. The rooms are very bright and clean. After a safari around the island, be sure to visit the spa.
Well, it’s worth writing separately about the restaurants on the island.
The only negative is the poor organization of arrival and departure by boat. On the way back, our luggage was sent on a separate boat from the passengers and as a result, several hotel guests, including us, did not receive their luggage as they were sent back to the hotel! However, this did not spoil our mood from the holiday. And the things were brought to us the next day.

Island holidays
it's nice to visit, but it's artificial. tour guides are super nice, hotel is okish, boat to reach the island is not luxury.

The spa
In the spa, we had the best therapist her name is mon we travel to many countries and did massage but Mon was the best one so far we went to seashells Thailand everywhere but she is the best and she has over 20 years experience and also the receptionist is very kind and respectful and sweet

I went to the spa it’s was phenomenal it was amazing and the women that did my massage was so amazing and her name is mon and she also did for my daughter my daughter had a headache and mon is massage made it leave she has over 20 plus experience she was amazing

Schönes Hotel jedoch renovierungsbedürftig
Check in freundlich. Überfahrt auf die Insel mit alter Fähre und Personal. Persönlicher Schiff Transfer wäre angemessen. Hotelbilder entsprechen nicht immer der Realität. Es wird sehr viel gebaut im angeblichen Naturschutzgebiet. Zimmer einfach für 5 Sterne, sehr hellhörig. Leider waren Bauarbeiten im Hotel, am Beach kein WLAN. Arabisches Restaurant im Hotel gut. Grosse Portionen. Service insgesamt freundlich bemüht.
Frühstück ok. Spa sehr gut mit professioneller Massage. Safari langweilig, wenn man europäische Tierparks kennt. Für einheimische Verhältnisse vielleicht spannend. Mit Kindern ok.
