Our beach is Jacaranda Bay, unparalleled on the Kenyan coast, just a few kilometres from Watamu. Malindi is 20 km away and Mombasa Airport 125 km with a transfer time of about 2h30. Jacaranda Bay stretches for about 9 km and is part of the Watamu Marine Reserve. The play of the tides causes small atolls known as 'Sardinia 2' to emerge.

The hotel is located within the Watamu and Malindi Marine Park area, directly on the beach of Jacaranda Bay. It is described as one of the most beautiful beaches in Africa, stretching 9 kilometres to the fishing village of Mayungu. The effect of the tides creates coral sand atolls, known as Sardinia 2, which are popular excursion destinations.
A few hundred metres from Jumbo, you can find several chiringuitos and water sports centres, such as kite surfing.
Our private beach, with a 90-metre beachfront area, is equipped with sun loungers and natural shady areas created by palm trees.
The Jumbo has three seawater pools and two large Jacuzzis; from one of the pools you can directly access the beach.
All the pools are surrounded by sunbathing areas with sun loungers and shaded corners. The main pool overlooks the private beach and measures over 220 square metres. It includes two smaller pools for children. The second pool, measuring 200 square metres, is located in the sports and entertainment area.

Jumbo's 92 rooms are located in five two-storey Arabic-style buildings, arranged parallel to the beach and around the tropical garden and offer solutions for couples and families. All rooms are comfortable and spacious (never less than 32 square metres), furnished in local style and equipped with mini-fridge, traditional Lamu-style bed with mosquito net, individually controlled air-conditioning, ceiling fan, safe, electric adapters, furnished veranda or balcony, large bathroom with shower and hairdryer.

The Main Bar is the ideal meeting point to enjoy a spritz or the creations of our bartenders.

The main restaurant offers buffet service and show cooking (express cooking in the grill area and pasta corner) during breakfast, lunch and dinner; it has a large indoor room and a spacious outdoor area in the tropical garden.
A la carte restaurant: on reservation, it also offers a wide choice of special dinners with the best of local and Italian gastronomy (from fresh pasta to shellfish); dinners are served on the beach or in the most picturesque corners of the resort by candlelight.
The cuisine is based on the freshest products, almost all of them zero kilometre, especially fish and vegetables, prepared according to the best recipes of Italian, international and Swahili cuisine.

Kenya is dedicated to Swahili language courses, cooking lessons, dance classes and 'parades' in local clothing. It is also possible to visit the Jacaranda Primary School, a 20-minute walk from the hotel.
The evenings are dedicated to African culture and its peoples; we offer shows by Watamu acrobats, Masai dances and markets, dances and traditions of the Giriama (the prevailing tribe on the coast). But also classical entertainment with games and cabaret organised by our team. One evening a week, Beach Party!
For children from 4 to 12 years old, our Kids Club offers play activities in dedicated areas, in the pool and on the beach organised and supervised by our specialised staff.

Struttura curata e gestita benissimo, cibo e animazione ottimi, non posso che consigliarlo!
Inoltre mi sono trovata davvero bene affidandomi per le escursioni a due ragazzi soprannominati Eddy Murphy e Pensiero, incontrati sulla spiaggia del resort, organizzazione perfetta e vi faranno conoscere e innamorare del loro paese e delle persone che lo abitano (lascio i loro numeri per contattarli in caso vogliate organizzare il vostro viaggio in Kenya: Pensiero +254714181764 e Eddy +254 787 051673)

Ottima esperienza al resort, cibo di ottima qualità e grande professionalità degli animatori.
Per le escursioni ci siamo affidati ad un ragazzo in spiaggia (James Katana, noto con il nome di Pensiero). È stato molto professionale e ci siamo trovati molto bene, pertanto lo consigliamo se voleste fare delle gite (il suo numero è +254714181764).

Magico!
Sono stata al Jumbo, due volte, ad Agosto e a Dicembre 2023, entrambe le volte per due settimane.
Per me, uno dei migliori resort in quasi 30 anni di viaggi!
Splendida struttura, camere ampie, sempre perfettamente pulite; cibo ottimo, tanta varietà e quantità!
Tutto il personale, dalla reception all'accoglienza (Victor, Cristina, etc), ai ragazzi che lavorano nei giardini, gli addetti alle pulizie, al ristorante, ai fantastici ragazzi che prestano servizio sulla spiaggia, tutti molto cordiali, gentili e disponibili, compreso James il Masai!
Per quanto riguarda l'animazione e l'intrattenimento, si inizia la mattina con il risveglio muscolare, poi c'è l'acquagym, il gioco aperitivo; ci sono le lezioni di swahili, i tornei di beach volley, bocce e freccette; ogni sera è previsto uno spettacolo diverso: il lunedì gli acrobati; il mercoledì la tribù giriama; il giovedì i Masai e, le altre sere, ci pensava lo staff animazione, con giochi di squadra, balli di gruppo, karaoke e tanto altro.
Proprio allo staff animazione vorrei dedicare qualche parola in più. Ragazzi di una gentilzza unica! Sempre con il sorriso, simpaticissimi; pronti a soddisfare le esigenze dei clienti con discrezione, mai invadenti o assillanti! Vorrei poter scrivere tanti aggettivi per loro, ma mi limito con SEMPLICEMENTE ECCEZIONALI! In particolare Robert, per me il numero uno! Un ragazzo d'oro, veramente speciale!
Per quanto riguarda le escursioni, mi sono affidata sempre ad un "beach Boys", di nome Eric! Ragazzo serio, affidabile, gentile ma, soprattutto, molto educato! Con lui ho organizzato tutte le escursioni compreso il Safari! Si è dimostrato veramente impeccabile!

Così, chi dovrà recarsi al Jumbo (o anche Jacaranda, Twiga etc) almeno sa già a chi rivolgersi.

Tutto il personale, dalla reception all'accoglienza (Victor, Cristina, etc), ai ragazzi che lavorano nei giardini, gli addetti alle pulizie, al ristorante, ai fantastici ragazzi che prestano servizio sulla spiaggia, tutti molto cordiali, gentili e disponibili, compreso James il Masai!
Per quanto riguarda l'animazione e l'intrattenimento, si inizia la mattina con il risveglio muscolare, poi c'è l'acquagym, il gioco aperitivo; ci sono le lezioni di swahili, i tornei di beach volley, bocce e freccette; ogni sera è previsto uno spettacolo diverso: il lunedì gli acrobati; il mercoledì la tribù giriama; il giovedì i Masai e, le altre sere, ci pensava lo staff animazione, con giochi di squadra, balli di gruppo, karaoke e tanto altro.
Proprio allo staff animazione vorrei dedicare qualche parola in più. Ragazzi di una gentilzza unica! Sempre con il sorriso, simpaticissimi; pronti a soddisfare le esigenze dei clienti con discrezione, mai invadenti o assillanti! Vorrei poter scrivere tanti aggettivi per loro, ma mi limito con SEMPLICEMENTE ECCEZIONALI! In particolare Robert, per me il numero uno! Un ragazzo d'oro, veramente speciale!
Per quanto riguarda le escursioni, mi sono affidata sempre ad un "beach Boys", di nome Eric! Ragazzo serio, affidabile, gentile ma, soprattutto, molto educato! Con lui ho organizzato tutte le escursioni compreso il Safari! Si è dimostrato veramente impeccabile!

Così, chi dovrà recarsi al Jumbo (o anche Jacaranda, Twiga etc) almeno sa già a chi rivolgersi.
Per concludere: al Jumbo ho trascorso le vacanze tra le più belle della mia vita! Se potessi, ci tornerei tutti i mesi!
