Motel 6 of Punta Cana
To say this is a 4 or 5 star is really a stretch. We decided to try a new resort and after seeing good reviews we went with Majestic Colonial.
Our butler showed us around the resort when we arrived and that was the last we saw of her- she checked in everyday but did not come to see us like we are used to at other resorts we have stayed in.
Rooms are old at need alot of care- housekeeping came once a day- all different times and never did nightly service.
Restaurants- all in all the food is awful. Mexican we were never brought our appetizers and served cold entrees. The steaks at steakhouse were tough and inedible. The French restaurant was the only meal we enjoyed. Forget the buffet- the rudest people ever- cutting in front of you and touching the food with their hands.
At lunch at the steak restaurant we were seated at a dirty table which we were told would be cleaned- numerous young woman came in and were attended to right away- after 15 minutes we walked out.
We had a swim up room- no privacy at all and loud drunks in pool all day- you couldn’t get near the bar. It was rocks and mud at the chairs. We ended up spending our time at the family pool which was much quieter. The swim ups in the family section was much nice.
The bartenders all helped the Spanish speaking guests first- we waited numerous times and were completely ignored- especially by Raul at the parrot bar- he seemed like he wanted to be anywhere but where he was.
So if you are looking for a great all inclusive experience- stick with Dreams or Live Aqua- yes this place was not expensive and it is true you get what you pay for- but we expected better. Would never return to the Majestic resorts.

Punta Cana Family Vacation 2024
The resort was beautiful and well maintained. The food selections were incredible and very good. The Hibachi was excellent and entertaining. Leo, our chef was incredible. The steakhouse was very good as well. Overall, the experience was exceptional. The rooms were spacious and very cold, and the cleaning crew did a great job. The grounds of the resort were well kept, and the beach was amazing. Overall, I give my highest regards to Majestic Colonial and the Staff. Great job everyone!!

Amazing visit and Beautiful Memories to Cherish
Just had a fantastic stay with my family. Stayed for 6 days. It was our first time at this resort and it will definitely not be our last. We were VERY impressed. From the property facilities condition to the excellent food quality, to the beautiful beach and great pool, we were very pleased. But what REALLY amazed us was the hotel’s staff and their attentive service. We especially want to THANK Alejandro, one of the waiters in the breakfast buffet by the beach and he also works in the “Rodeo Steak” restaurant night. He is the most friendly, attentive and awesome person and he made my wife and kids and myself feel very valued. Also, his supervisor Luis is absolutely amazing and he does a great job making sure everything runs great and efficiently in the restaurants and food buffets. But honestly, the entire staff - pool bartenders, the towel kid, the room cleaning persons were all very nice and attentive. We also opted to have a “tomahawk steak dinner” by the beach on our last night and it was perfect. A beautiful memory for us to cherish. In summary, we really loved our stay and we HIGHLY recommend this hotel! We would love to come back again.

Tres Calaveras Restaurant en Majestic Colonial Resort
Comimos en el Restaurant Tres Calaveras y nuestro mesero fue David Gonzales que fue expectacular con el servicio. Y la attention que nos proveo durante nuestra estadia en el Majestic Colonial Punta Cana. Fue muy servicial, amable, y attento al servisio de las personal. No oriento en el servicio de por la manana, tarde y la cominda de noche. Todo estuvo espectacular!!!

It was good until it wasn't
It has been a couple of weeks since we have been back from our nearly 2 week vacation in Majestic Colonial. I am a bit late on the review, however, I felt compelled to write a review from a place of logic and facts and not anger or discomfort.  

Allow me to elaborate: we stayed in a Colonial Club room. This entitles us to a butler, access to the colonial club “club”, access to the colonial club pool and beach area, and the ability to have breakfast and lunch at their french gourmet restaurant. In the notes, I asked for a room as close the beach as possible. I was pleasantly surprised that our request was seen and our room had a great view. Room 3245. 

Since we stayed for a long period, we were able to experience all of the restaurants that Colonial had to offer, As well as most of their amenities. During our stay, there were several days that it rained. These days, we were able to go to escapology (a popular escape room franchise; you have to pay extra) that is located in the Elegance resort. We hung out at the Colonial club building, where they have additional snacks and a small buffet, as well as board games. During dry days, We explored the Majestic grounds (Colonial Elegance and Mirage) extensively and partook in the services from the spa.

The good: 

 👩‍🍳The service at the restaurants was great. The staff really tried, even though some of them could benefit from learning basic English. This was not a problem for us, as we speak Spanish, however there were some people that we saw in the restaurants at times struggling with the wait staff to ask for simple things.

🥘 The food was good, not great but good. That is saying a lot for an all inclusive. If they had more variety like the Mirage or Elegance it would have been better. Your only options are a Mexican restaurant, a Japanese hibachi (where you need reservations) a French gourmet restaurant (reservations as well) the main buffet and a lunch buffet that splits into the steakhouse and seafood restaurant at night. There is no Coffee Shop, Italian restaurant or snack area like other resorts. For breakfast your only option is both buffets, unless you are colonial club.

🏖🏃‍♀️The ability to go “walk” to the other properties; Exchange privileges: those that are staying at the Mirage are able to access both the Elegance and Colonial. That being said they are able to eat and use the amenities of those resorts. Those staying at Elegance are only able to go to Colonial and use their amenities, while those in Colonial are not allowed to use the amenities in the other resorts. While here, we encountered numerous individuals that were from the other Resorts using the Colonial amenities, specifically the Colonial Club amenities. They were always in the club house or using the colonial club pool. While it was not necessarily annoying, it did feel a bit intrusive since alot of the guests that would use these facilities were not part of the“Mirage club” or “Elegance club” respectively. We knew this because we befriended several individuals that confirmed this fact. We took advantage that we can walk over to the other Resorts atleast and in the morning we would trek to the coffee shop in Mirage and have a quick coffee and tea. We would tip handsomely and soon we became regulars. We were able to do this because the wristband for the colonial club was similar to that of the Mirage guests. One day we were even able to try their buffet and sports club! Tipping heavily along the way of course. This was also convenient at night when they had the different shows going on. When they had a show we did not like at Colonial, we would go to the shows in Elegance or Mirage. The best show they had was obviously Michael Jackson, even though we did enjoy the Rock show as well. The entertainment team were very talented.

❗️The not so good: 

🧖‍♀️The Spa. I would first like to say that the people working at the spa are wonderful. Maria Antonia at the front desk is amazing. The massages that we received from Carmela and Andaliza were exquisite. Definitely a high point in this trip. However our caveat would be in the wet area/hydrotherapy. Though relaxing at first, the hydrotherapy pool of the spa is practically connected to the activity/main pool. This means that when you are trying to relax at the spa, you can still see, hear and experience what is happening in that pool. This could be a good thing if you always want to be in the action. However, when you pay extra for some relaxation and tranquility outside of the partying, it is not necessarily ideal when you have onlookers looking into the spa area from the party pool. 

❄️ The AC in the room: this is important, especially in the summer when it's hot and humid. For the first couple of days the AC was fine. After the 3rd day it started acting up and we let our butler know. He sent someone up to “fix it”. The maintenance guy fixed it, but we still had problems. We eventually realized that the AC had a sensor, that not only would turn off when the door was open, which is typical in resorts, but also it would turn off when it did not detect movement in the room. This was an issue during the middle of the night when we slept. It would get hot and muggy unless we got up and moved at night. Even when we used the thermostat it would not turn on. 

❌️ Unique issues we encountered during our stay:

⚡️ Electricity went out for about 20 minutes during the day one time. This is not uncommon but not expected at a “5 star” hotel. 

💧❄️🚫 Water and AC was turned off: Towards the end of our stay, we came to the room after one of the nightly shows and found that we had no water in the room and the AC was completely off. We called the front desk since we had no way of contacting our butler at the time. (We stayed so long, that we had 2 butlers, our first butler went on his days off when we were there so we were assigned another one.) The individual on the phone reacted fast, they turned the water on about 10 minutes after we called. About 15 minutes later we had a maintenance guy come up, but he was the wrong person. They sent a person to help us with the safe, which was not what we asked for. They eventually sent an HVAC tech for the AC. He stated that our AC issues had to do with the water. I guess they turned it off because they thought no one was in the room, eventhough we still had 3 days until our checkout date. 

 🤢 Food poisoning: halfway through our stay, we noticed that the wait staff switched from pouring water from jugs to using bottles of water instead. Several days later we found out that it was because there were several cases of food poisoning happening. This issue only affected Colonial because we did not notice this switch in the other 2 resorts. 

🏃‍♀️💨The day of checkout we were rushed out of the room: Checkout is at 12pm. The last day we were there, we heard several knocks on our door at around 8am. We had the “Do not disturb” sign up. Through the door I heard, in Spanish, the cleaning ladies talking amongst themselves that they wanted to clean the room early. That was highly unprofessional. At around 9am we heard another knock, this time I opened it, to find a maintenance guy walking away from the door. I guess they thought we were still asleep, and wanted to wake us up with an unsolicited wakeup call/ reminder. That was highly inappropriate and unprofessional. Checkout was at 12pm and they wanted us out ASAP. 

Though we spent a significant time here and we enjoyed our stay, we will not be returning anytime soon, due to our experience.

These companies check that our processes follow correct food handling procedures and verify the wholesomeness of our water supply. HS Consulting, one of the internationally recognized companies with whom we have a contract, signs that our kitchens and food procedures have a "high level" of hygiene. We strive to follow all possible standards, procedures and methods to ensure the health and wholesomeness of the food and beverages we serve to our guests. We would also like to kindly mention that we did not have any such instances during these guests' visit.

Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us, as it helps us in our continued efforts to exceed guest expectations and experiences. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us.

Our goal is to provide each of our guests with a fantastic visit and amazing memories and we regret that we did not achieve this for you.

5 star services .5 étoiles pour le services
Service à la hauteur 5 étoiles nous avions pris le service colonial avec un endroit réservé sur la plage et un bar avec Fernando. royda . Et dilana très très gentils les 3 .
Le restaurant le gourmet pour le déjeuner ou un repas plus tranquille à la hauteur .aucun algue et eau calme de la mer pour se baigner en sécurité. Et au buffet nous avons été super bien servi par les serveur et la dame sur ma photo en blanc accueilli avec le sourire . Un gros merci

Servicio hasta 5 estrellas cogimos el servicio colonial con lugar reservado en la playa y bar con Fernando. royda. Y dilana muy muy linda la 3. El restaurante gourmet para el almuerzo o una comida más tranquila en las alturas. Sin algas y agua de mar tranquila para nadar con seguridad. Y en el buffet nos atendió muy bien el camarero y la señora de mi foto vestida de blanco nos recibió con una sonrisa. Un gran gracias

Magique à chaque fois 🥰
Nous sommes allés pour une 2e fois au Majestic Colonial. Pour nous tout étaient parfait. Nous avons eu droit à des privilèges pour notre retour, belle vue sur la piscine entre autre. Mon coup de coeur en plus est cette belle longue piscine. La chambre un peu vieillot mais propre et frigidaire plein. La nourriture étaient excellente, beaucoup de beaux et bons choix. Les gens de l'hôtel sont toujours souriants, blagueurs, gentils.
Un merci spécial à Jean Carlos très gentil ☺️
Pour nous que d'agréables souvenirs de cette endroit. Peut-être y retournerons nous une 3e fois 😉

Excelente lugar

Traumhafter Badeurlaub in Bávaro
Das Hotel liegt am schönsten Strandabschnitts Bávaro. Die alle meistens Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett , freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Upgrade für den Clubbereich lohnt sich besonders für Paare ohne Kinder, die auch etwas Ruhe genießen möchten. Spezialisiert ist man hier auf US-Amerikanische Kunden ( Achtung Springbrake). Die gesamte Anlage wird gut gepflegt und ist sehr sauber. Das Essen und die Getränke sind erstklassig jeder findet hier wonach er sucht und meistens schmeckt. Manchmal ist es problematisch, wenn man im Restaurant am Strand draußen sitzen möchte. Insgesamt wurden wir weiterempfehlen und wieder kommen. Besonderen Dank an WiFi und Maguana an der Bar und an alle an der Clubbar am Strand. Unser Butler Edwin hat sich die ganze Zeit gut um uns gekümmert. Vielen Dank auch an ihn.

Majestic Colonial , Punta cana
Nous avons passé un super beau séjour à cet hôtel. Le personnel Est vraiment super sympathique. En particulier Julia du restaurant SeeFood et de notre hôte Darel. Il y a suffisamment de chaise et de lits à la plage. Les repas sont Vraiment très bon dans tous les restaurants ainsi qu’au deux buffets. La section Club a dépassé nos attentes.

Staff - Bouffe - Habitations = 5-étoile +
Propreté impeccable partout, autant les habitations, les installations, resto et buffet. Bouffe abondante et variée en plus d'avoir beaucoup de fruits de mer. Staff très serviable, gentil, allumé, poli. Vendeurs sur la plage très respectueux. Un GROS merci a Elpidio Amandri, le gérant resto français et son staff. Merci a Alfred Geordany, Ruddy et Israel Encornacion aussi. Et un merci tout spécial a Jose Julio qui a ete vraiment présent pour nous :o)

Urlaub mit einigen Abstrichen
Es ist abzuraten in den Monaten März und April zu buchen, da in Punta Cana Spring Break Saison für die Amerikaner Teenies ist. Wir wurden von ca. 400 Kids belagert, die natürlich auch im Adults Only Bereich ihre Zimmer hatten. Der Lärm war noch das Wenigste, was uns gestört hat. Der Pool am Adults Only Bereich war von den Jugendlichen dauerbelegt, wir haben ihn deshalb nicht genutzt. Auch waren die unteren Swim-up Zimmer mit Zugang zum Pool am Morgen grundsätzlich mit Essensresten der letzten Nacht (Pizzakartons, Pommes etc.) "verziert". Auch fanden wir es nicht so prickelnd, dass sich einige hinter den Bali Betten und auch rechts und links der Wege in die Büsche übergeben haben :(. Wenn man dieses Hotel bucht, ist man tatsächlich auf der Familienzimmer Seite besser bedient, da hier auch die Swim-Up Zimmer an den großen Pool münden und auch einen größeren Garten haben.
Das Hotel an sich ist sehr schön angelegt, grün und gepflegt. Das Personal ist sehr nett, allerdings mussten wir feststellen, dass der Service sehr unterschiedlich mit Amerikanern und Deutschen Urlaubern umgeht. Wir hatten den Butlerservice im Adults Only Bereich inklusive, haben aber mitbekommen, dass die Betreuung sehr unterschiedlich ausfiel. In der zweiten Urlaubswoche hat sich kein Mensch mehr um uns gekümmert, allerdings konnten wir uns immer selbst helfen :). Wichtig ist viel Trinkgeld, sonst wird es schwierig.
Das Essen ist sehr amerikanisch, man findet trotzdem immer etwas. Strand war traumhaft schön, allerdings muss man vor 8 Uhr einen Platz reservieren, da es nicht ausreichend Schatten und Liegen gibt, sollte das Hotel gut belegt sein. Reservierungen sind zwar nicht gewünscht, interessiert aber niemanden und einem bleibt nichts anderes übrig, als sich der Gesamtsituation anzupassen. Vorsicht vor den Strandverkäufern, alles Abzocke und Wucherpreise.
Ausflüge auf die Insel Saona und die Busfahrt "Land und Leute" können wir nur empfehlen. Hier nur bei der Reiseleitung buchen!!
Fazit für uns: Wenn noch einmal Dominikanische Republik, dann nicht mehr in einem Hotel, dass sich für den Spring Break hergibt. Dieses sollte auch in der Hotelbeschreibung hinterlegt sein!!

All inclusive Hotel, gutes Essen .. jeder findet was im Schmeckt. Schöner sauberer Strand, freundliches Personal
Unser Butler Luis Encarnacion war sehr aufmerksam und hat alle unsere Wünsche erfüllt. Bei der Ankunft bekamen wir das falsche Zimmer aber Luis hat das in Ordnung gebracht und wir konnten ein Tag später in das gebuchte Zimmer. Mit der Wave App war er immer erreichbar und schrieb uns jeden Tag wie es uns geht, ob alles in Ordnung ist und ob wir ein Restaurant buchen wollen für ein Dinner am Abend. Wir waren voll und ganz zufrieden 👍Die Anlage ist sehr schön und gepflegt, die Pools sind riesig und die vielen Bars überall sind mit sehr freundlichem Personal belegt. Überhaupt alle die irgendein Job da haben waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Im Restaurant Le Gourmet.. hat es noch Luft nach oben .. da war der Tisch nur eingedeckt mit Messer und Gabel … überall sonst fand man für Vorspeise , Hauptgang und Dessert alles korrekt mit dem Besteck eingedeckt.

Top Hotel für Familien
Die Hotelanlage ist sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet und das Hotelpersonal mit 1-2 Ausnahmen sehr freundlich.
Man merkt, dass sich das Hotel auf Amerikaner und Kanadier spezialisiert hat, die wurden z.T. sehr bevorzugt, was wohl daran liegt, dass sie bei jeder Gelegenheit Dollars springen lassen (wir waren die einzige deutschsprachige Familie im Hotel).
Bei Ferienbeginn Anfang Februar hatte es sehr viele freie Liegen und es war sehr ruhig. Gegen Mitte Februar wurde es lebhafter.

Das Essen im Hauptrestaurant und im Beach Palapa (Buffet) war ausgezeichnet und das A-la-Carte Essen im Rodeo Grill (am Abend serviert) war perfekt!

Green, der Barkeeper an der Poolbar, ging auf alle Wünsche ein und kreierte auch für Kinder alkoholfreie, sehr farbenfrohe und leckere Drinks, er war auch immer sehr freundlich zu allen.

Die Zimmer sind gut eingerichtet, jedoch sind die 2 Betten für 4 Personen mit 140 cm Breite etwas schmal. Das Zustellbett war steinhart. Der Zimmerservice war immer gut, die Betten wurden täglich gemacht und die Tücher/Duschmittel wurden immer aufgefüllt oder gewechselt. Einzig die Minibar wurde nur mit Wasser aufgefüllt. Für Nüsschen und Bier mussten wir 2-3 mal nach fragen, aber es wurde dann auch aufgefüllt.

Der Strand war wohl der schönste und sauberste Abschnitt von den umliegenden Hotels. Früh aufstehen lohnt sich, die Sonnenaufgänge sind sensationell!

Schöne Anlage mit ein paar Abstriche
Das Hotel sieht im ersten Moment sehr gut aus aber leider ist es doch in den Jahren gekommen.
Die Zimmer müssten echt mal renoviert werden.
Sauberkeit der Zimmer war auch nicht immer gut und Handtücher fehlten auch öfter. Auch Duschgel uns shampoo fehlten oft.
Die Strandbar war toll und auch der Strand.
Das Essen war gut und das Personal ist sehr freundlich.
Die ganze Lage ist echt super. Pool sehr schön und gross.
Also es könnte wirklich mal was gemacht werden denn es ist nicht billig.
Es sind aber fast nur Amerikaner und Canadier da.
Fazit schöne Anlage aber doch wohl zu teuer.

Vacanza a cinque stelle!
Fantastico resort in riva al mare. Piscina spettacolare, buffet enorme e per tutti gusti! Cocktail disponibili a tutte le ore del giorno e personale molto gentile. Superata la hall d’ingresso si scende una bellissima scalinata e si ha una spettacolare vista del resort immerso in un rigoglioso palmeto.

Zero Colonial
Dalle foto dei turisti per altro mischiate con altre dei due resort contigui della stessa catena , sicuramente più belli di quello dove eravamo noi , sembrava “ Colonial” quello che ci aspettavamo , ma non era così . Ci siamo trovati in un resort prettamente americano e nel senso peggiore del termine, e molto poco caraibico , a cii eravamo abituati . Nonostante la categoria superiore “the club” i sevizi hanno lasciato molto a desiderare a partire dalla spiaggia piena di alghe , ripulita solo dopo una settimana di permanenza , alla presenza di letti “ balinesi” in zona riservata che si sono messi a pitturare con la presenza di persone ( non si poteva fare manutenzione durante la pandemia che non c’era nessuno ? ). Il buffet non aveva neanche una serata Dominicana , tranne un giorno con un show cooking con “cerdo asado” molto buono , e dei dolci che sembravano tratti dalla serie televisiva “ il boss delle torte” con un infinita’ di colori e sapori all’unisono uguali , per non parlare del servizio bevande al tavolo , che , se andava bene arrivavano a fine cena ! Il maggiordomo poi , che doveva essere un Sur plus del Club non è mai servito a niente : abbiamo chiesto di cambiare stanze perché sopra il bar della piscina c’era un rumore di schiamazzi e musica insopportabile, e a suo dire non c’era possibilità di cambio , cosa che gestita personalmente in reception ho risolto in dieci minuti , come per prenotare l’unico ristorante prenotazione , dove secondo lui era difficile trovare posto , ci ho messo due secondi a prenotare dal Club. Per gli altri ristoranti tematici bisognava fare la coda in presenza almeno mezz’ora prima dell’apertura per riservare un posto : assurdo ! Non ultimo il maggiordomo aveva voluto il ns. numero Whatsapp per contattarci e dovemmo bloccarlo perché alle. Ove del mattino chiamava per sapere se era tutto a posto … ma non per risolvere qualcosa ! Animazione inesistente . Spettacoli serali a livello oratorio. Insomma una vacanza da dimenticare dopo più di vent’anni passati in Domenicana in resort sicuramente migliori di questo .

Il colonial a seconda della sistemazione ha il servizio di concierge che serve solo per prenotare i ristoranti interni, per il resto non è utile per niente ( avevo un problema di cassaforte e porta rotta ho divuto risolverlo da dola dopo 4 giorni).
Ha una bella spiaggia e piscine, diversi ristoranti, il giapponese non è assolutamente all’altezza, show che dura pochissimo.

Sopra le aspettative
Abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel 10 giorni, ed è stato tutto stupendo. L'equipe d'animazione sempre solare e divertente e per niente invasiva. Il cibo era vario e di ottima qualità sia nei buffet che nei ristoranti alla carta (consiglio vivamente l'aragosta al ristorante tres carabelas). Camere pulite, ampie e con jacuzzi in camera. Resort molto grande e ben curato nei dettagli.
Personale accogliente e sempre disponibile.
