Yes, you can add your pet during the booking process. All small pets allowed by the regulations of the passenger's country of origin are considered pets. Your four-legged friend will not be able to access the armchair lounges or internal common areas, but will be able to walk with you on the external decks.

During high season it is advisable to arrive at least 1 hour before the prescribed time. If you arrive beyond the indicated limits, you lose the right to board even with a ticket.

In accordance with EU Regulation 1177/2010, Grimaldi Lines ensures that reservations and tickets are offered to PMRs under the same conditions as other passengers, without additional costs.

The port of Tunis (La Goulette) is the main connection point between Tunisia and Italy thanks to Grimaldi Lines ferries. It offers fast check-in services, assistance to passengers with reduced mobility and efficient connections to several Italian destinations.

Luggage on board Grimaldi Lines ferries
Each passenger is entitled to board one unchecked baggage (56×45×25 cm) containing personal effects, as well as a small piece of luggage (bag or backpack), without any additional charge. For routes other than the lines in agreement, each additional baggage (even if it does not exceed the permitted weight and dimensions) requires the payment of a supplement of €10 during boarding. On routes to/from Tunisia, the transport of extra baggage can be pre-purchased for €7 through the official channels (website, call center, points of sale, Grimaldi Tours).

Bulky Items and Household Goods
The transport of household goods, appliances, furniture or other objects of significant size requires an additional supplement of €30 for each item, to be paid upon boarding. No extra costs are due for luggage and objects placed inside or on the accompanying vehicle, provided that safety regulations are respected. If you travel with a car or other means of transport, remember that once you set sail, the garage decks remain closed for the entire voyage: therefore, bring everything you need with you in the cabin (documents, personal accessories, etc.).

On-board Storage
Except for permitted hand luggage, any extra luggage or bulky items that have not been loaded onto the vehicle must be deposited in the on-board luggage compartment. To do this, go to the reception with your ticket and an identity document, fill out the deposit form and keep the receipt to present upon collection. It is essential not to leave identification documents or any precious/valuable objects in your luggage; in any case, the Carrier does not assume responsibility for theft, loss or damage to money, jewellery or similar goods. It is also not permitted to deposit dangerous items, prohibited by law or items that may damage other luggage or the environment. It will not be possible to access the deposited luggage during navigation. The luggage will be returned upon presentation of the appropriate receipt and a valid identity document. It is not permitted to deposit items or goods prohibited by law and/or considered dangerous by law and/or by the Company, as well as items that by their nature or packaging may cause damage to people, the environment or other luggage transported and/or deposited.

Liability, Reports and Lost Items
The Carrier is liable for any damage or loss of baggage only if the event is due to its own fault, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 392/2009, the Navigation Code and/or other applicable legislation. In the event of visible damage to baggage, a written complaint must be made by submitting the appropriate complaint form to the on-board Reception or the Port Ticket Office, or in the manner provided for in art. 24 of the Grimaldi Lines General Conditions of Carriage . In the case of unregistered baggage, report any damage before or at the time of disembarkation; for other baggage or bulky objects, the complaint must be submitted before or at the time of return. If the damage is not visible or in the event of loss, the passenger has 15 days from the date of disembarkation or return (or from when the return should have taken place) to report it. If you lose something while you are still on board, inform the reception; If you notice it after disembarking, send a written report to customer@grimaldi.napoli.it within 15 days of the end of the trip.

On the lines to Tunisia , in accordance with the official communication of the Tunisian Ministry of Transport (OMMP), it is expressly forbidden to embark dogs of the following breeds: Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Tosa, Mastiff and Boer Bull . In case of non-compliance with this prohibition, the animal will not be embarked.

Areas accessible to animals

Dogs and cats have dedicated accommodations for their stay, while other animals (rabbits, birds, reptiles, etc.) must travel in carriers or cages provided by the passenger. Animals are not allowed in cabins, unless the Pet in Cabin service is purchased, detailed below. Four-legged friends can walk on the external decks of the ships accompanied by their owners, but must wear a leash and muzzle. Otherwise, boarding may be denied. Animals are not allowed in common areas, restaurants, armchair lounges and those reserved for passengers.

The cost of the trip for the animal includes accommodation in a cage or in the cabin, if the Pet in Cabin service has been purchased. The care of the animal's food and cleaning of its needs are the responsibility of the owner.

Guide Dogs
Blind passengers may travel accompanied by their guide dog at no additional cost, upon written notification to the Company. The assistance dog for persons with reduced mobility (PMR) may access the cabin with its owner without having to pay the supplement required for the Pet in Cabin service. It is necessary to report the presence of the guide dog at the time of boarding.

Dogs on the routes to Tunisia
For routes to Tunisia, according to the official provisions of the Tunisian Ministry of Transport (OMMP), the boarding of dogs belonging to the following breeds is not permitted: Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Tosa, Mastiff and Boer Bull. In case of non-compliance with this regulation, the animal will not be admitted on board.

Mandatory documents and treatments

For the transport of pets (dogs, cats and ferrets), in addition to the leash and muzzle to be worn for access to common areas, it is mandatory to have some documents and mandatory medical certifications.
For transport between Schengen Area countries or from a Schengen country to a non-Schengen country:

European Pet Passport (PET). The European Pet Passport includes all the necessary certifications.

For domestic routes:

Registration in the canine registry (registered microchip),
Certificate of good health issued by the veterinarian

Dogs, cats and ferrets that are introduced into the EU from Tunisia must be identified by a microchip or a clearly legible tattoo, if applied before 03/07/2011. The documentation to be presented at boarding is the following:

Health certificate in accordance with Annex IV of Implementing Regulation (EU) No 577/2013;
Copy of the certificate with the animal's electronic identification data;
Copy of the certificate with the data of the vaccination against rabies. In addition to the vaccination against rabies, they must undergo the so-called "antibody titration", which consists of a special test to be carried out, at least one month after the vaccination against rabies, at a laboratory recognised by the EU, to ascertain the presence of a minimum protective level (greater than 0.5 IU/ml). The result of the test must be attached to the documentation to be presented at boarding and the minimum protective level resulting from the analysis must be declared on the health certificate or on the animal's passport. Ban on some dog breeds on the Tunisia route
On routes to Tunisia, the following breeds of dogs are not permitted to be carried: Pitbull, Rottweiler, Tosa, Mastiff and Boer Bull.

On board Grimaldi Lines ferries you can embark your car, motorbike, camper or minibus to reach Sardinia, Sicily, Spain, Greece and Tunisia in complete safety. Each passenger can travel with only one vehicle, which will be placed on any of the garage decks, according to the instructions of the Captain or his representatives. We remind you that, once you have set sail, the garage decks remain closed for safety reasons, so you will not be able to access them during navigation. For vehicles for commercial purposes or goods to be sold (tourist buses, trucks, lorries and similar) a specific reservation as goods is required. Furthermore, if you travel with a bicycle or electric scooter, you must include the vehicle during the booking phase, drive it by hand in the reserved lanes and leave it in the garage for the entire duration of the trip, at no additional cost.

WHAT VEHICLES CAN I TAKE ON THE FERRIES?

When purchasing, select the exact category of your vehicle ( car, motorbike, camper , etc.) by calculating its “overall” dimensions (including tow hooks, roof racks, boxes, luggage and any accessories). If at the time of boarding the vehicle is different from the type/code indicated on the ticket, you may lose the right to board (without reimbursement). Only those vehicles carrying personal luggage and not goods intended for sale are considered “vehicles carrying passengers”. If your car is equipped with external accessories or exceeds the standard dimensions required, contact customer service for information on boarding procedures. Tourist coaches, trucks, lorries and jumbos , with or without a driver, must travel as goods and follow a different booking procedure.

BOARDING BICYCLES AND ELECTRIC SCOOTERS ON FERRIES

Passengers traveling with a bicycle or electric scooter must include the vehicle in their reservation. They must also go to the terminal by pushing the vehicle by hand through the lanes reserved for them. On board, they will be directed to the area dedicated to the stowage of said vehicles, which must remain in the garage for the entire duration of the trip. The boarding of bicycles and electric scooters is free .

VEHICLE DIMENSIONS

The dimensions of the vehicles (height and length) are to be considered “ overall ”, i.e. including tow hooks, drawbars, trunks, bike racks, luggage, roof accessories, etc.

The types of vehicles you can board are:

Cars with height up to 1.90m and length up to 4m
Cars with height up to 1.90m and length from 4.01m to 5m
Campers and Minibuses with length up to 9m and height up to 4.20m
Vehicle with height up to 4.20m and length up to 9m

It is not possible to recharge any electric vehicle by connecting it to the ship's power outlets.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PASSENGERS WITH VEHICLES USING ALTERNATIVE FUELS FOR DEPARTURES ON THE BRINDISI-IGOUEMENITSA AND BRINDISI-CORFU ROUTES AND VICE VERSA.

On the routes Brindisi–Igoumenitsa (night departures), Igoumenitsa–Brindisi (daytime departures) and Brindisi–Corfu/Corfu–Brindisi, alternative fuel vehicles (AFV) must comply with circular no. 2070.0/28541/2024 of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Island Policies:

Plug-in electric or hybrid vehicles: battery charged to a maximum of 40% upon boarding.
LPG or natural gas vehicles: tank filled no more than 50% of its capacity.
These measures apply exclusively on board the M/n Kydon Palace of the carrier Minoan Lines, to ensure maximum safety during the transport of AFVs.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING TO BARCELONA WITH YOUR VEHICLE

BLOCK 4
Since 1 January 2020, the Barcelona area has been a Low Emission Zone (ZBE Barcelona Surroundings), an area of over 95 km² in which traffic is restricted for the most polluting vehicles. This zone includes a large part of the municipality of Barcelona (except the Zona Franca and the neighbourhoods of Vallvidrera, Tibidabo and Les Planes), the municipality of Hospitalet de Llobregat and some areas of Cornellà de Llobregat, Esplugues de Llobregat and San Adrià de Besòs. From Monday to Friday, from 7:00 to 20:00, vehicles without the DGT environmental label (Zero, Eco, C and B) cannot access these zones without special authorisation.

If your trip, departing from or arriving in Barcelona, involves the use of a vehicle subject to restrictions, promptly check the procedures to follow on the official AMB link . ZBE Barcelona offers different types of permits (for example, for reduced mobility, emergency services, individual activities, foreign vehicles, daily permits), so as to allow circulation without incurring penalties. For foreign vehicles, it is mandatory to register at the following address: ZBE Barcelona . If your vehicle complies with the environmental parameters, you can obtain a two-year permit. It is important to complete the registration at least 15 days before arriving in Barcelona.

From 1 January 2021, commercial vehicles (vans, trucks, coaches and buses) without the DGT environmental label are also subject to a driving ban without prior authorisation. Grimaldi Lines reminds all passengers with vehicles heading to or arriving at the port of Barcelona to check for any restrictions relating to the ZBE Rondes de Barcelona. Driving in this area without the appropriate permit can result in fines starting from €100, which can be increased in the event of a repeat offence. For more information, consult the official ZBE website or contact AMB (Àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona) directly.

Who can benefit from the tariff concessions?
The offers are dedicated to:

Passengers born or resident in a municipality of the Sardinia or Sicily Region (EU citizens or non-EU citizens).
Dependent family members of the native/resident (spouse, partner, children even if not resident in Sardinia or Sicily).
Other passengers included in the ticket (including non-family members or non-dependent family members).

How to take advantage of the benefits:

When booking, select the “Residents and/or Natives” option.
Upon boarding, each passenger must show a valid identity document.
The document must certify residency or place of birth in Sardinia/Sicily. Alternatively, valid documentation such as a certificate of residency may be presented.

For family members traveling without the native/resident:

The dependent family member can benefit from the offer by presenting a self-certification declaring the composition of the family unit.
A copy of the identity document of the native/resident must be attached to the self-certification.

Ferry offer for all senior passengers (over 60)

Offer conditions

Grimaldi Lines applies a special discount of 20% – fixed fees, EU ETS ⃰ costs and on-board services excluded – to tickets containing at least one passenger over 60, for maritime lines to/from Sardinia, Greece (to/from Brindisi), Sicily and Spain.

The offer does not apply to public service lines (from Naples and Palermo to Cagliari and vice versa; from Civitavecchia to Arbatax and Cagliari and vice versa).

Validity of the offer

The promotion is valid for bookings and departures until 05/31/2025 and from 09/01/2025 to 12/31/2025.

The 20% discount is applicable on ship passage, accommodation supplements, animals and accompanying vehicles.
The discount does not apply to fixed fees, EU ETS costs, travel cancellation insurance and on-board services (such as meals, wi-fi, pets in cabin, wellness centre, etc.).

How to apply the offer

Select the “Passengers Over 60” option when searching. The senior offer applies only to tickets with a special fare level

Cumulation of the offer

The promotion can be combined with other special offers active at the time of booking, it cannot be combined with agreements and resident/native rates, unless otherwise specified in the conditions of application.

Cancellation and change of tickets

The promotion is not retroactive. Tickets are non-refundable, but can be changed under the current special fare conditions.

*Pursuant to Directive (EU) 2023/959, maritime transport has been included in the European Union's greenhouse gas emission allowance trading system ("EU ETS"). The obligations imposed on shipping companies, in particular that of purchasing allowances, result in an increase in maritime transport costs. Therefore, starting from 1 January 2024, the ticket price will include, for each passenger and each vehicle, an item called 'EU ETS costs', of a variable amount depending on the line, which cannot be discounted or refunded. At present, public service lines (from Naples and Palermo to Cagliari and vice versa; from Civitavecchia to Arbatax and Cagliari and vice versa) and the Civitavecchia-Olbia line and vice versa are excluded from the application of the EU ETS system.

Aboard Cruise Roma, Cruise Barcelona, Cruise Europa, and Cruise Sardegna, you can enjoy a wide range of services including sauna, Turkish bath, jacuzzi, relaxation areas, massage and beauty treatment rooms, tri-facial lamps, sun showers, and a selection of beauty products. Fitness enthusiasts can also work out in a gym equipped with the latest Technogym machines. On the Zeus Palace, a massage room is available, while on the Europalink, both a sauna and a massage room are offered. Access to the wellness centers is reserved for adults: children under 14 are not permitted, and those between 14 and 18 may enter only if accompanied by an adult who signs a liability declaration. Services – massages, gym, sauna, and Turkish bath – can be purchased online directly via our website and are available during the wellness center’s operating hours, which can be checked onboard. Availability is limited, so please verify when booking. To ensure the highest safety standards, the wellness/spa area might sometimes be temporarily unavailable.

Wi‑Fi and Maritime Roaming
Stay connected throughout your journey! Onboard Grimaldi Lines ferries, the paid Wi‑Fi service lets you surf the internet wherever you are—from common areas and corridors to your cabin.
Choose from the EASY, DIGITAL, and DIGITALPLUS packages and purchase the service online before departure. Once activated, your Wi‑Fi code is valid for 12 hours with no suspension option; on selected ships (Cruise Barcelona, Cruise Roma, Cruise Bonaria, Cruise Sardegna, Cruise Europa, and Cruise Ausonia) vouchers come with traffic limits (Easy 1GB, Digital 2GB, DigitalPlus 4GB).

How to activate:
Once onboard, switch your device to airplane mode and connect to the “Seafy” network. The onboard portal will open automatically, or you can visit https://portal.seafy.com and click “I already have a Wi‑Fi code” to access the dedicated homepage with all the information on the Grimaldi Lines world and to activate your package. Remember to have a printed copy of your purchased package, which contains a unique code and QR code. You can manually enter the code or, if using a mobile device, scan the QR code to connect within seconds. Each code is valid for one device at a time; for multiple devices, separate codes are required. Please note that Wi‑Fi speeds at sea may be slower due to geographic position, weather conditions, and the number of connected users. The service is available only on selected ships—please verify availability during booking or onboard. Additionally, the Seafy service is not offered on the KYDON PALACE (Brindisi–Corfu–Igoumenitsa route).

Terms and Conditions:
Wi‑Fi packages purchased are valid for 12 hours from first activation, non-suspendable, and usable within two years of purchase. In case of ticket modification, departure cancellation, or non-usage on the booked route, the package may be used until its expiry date. In the event of cancellation, the customer is entitled to a full refund. The service can be canceled up to the day of departure by requesting a refund, contacting info@grimaldi.napoli.it.

On board all our ferries there are cabins with access for people with reduced mobility (PRM), internal or external, adequately equipped, complete with toilets.

For public service lines (Civitavecchia – Cagliari – Arbatax and vice versa and Naples – Cagliari – Palermo and vice versa) it is possible to book cabins for people with disabilities by contacting info@metour.it.

It is necessary to contact the Contact Center at least forty-eight hours before the assistance is required (24 hours before for the Conventioned Lines / public service), specifying your specific needs for accommodation, seating, services requested, assistance with boarding and/or the need to transport medical equipment.

Boarding of Persons with Disabilities (PRM)

Reporting and Timings

Request for assistance: send us an email (info@metour.it) at the same time as purchasing the ticket or at least 48 hours before the assistance is needed (24 hours for the Conventioned Lines).

Presentation time:

Without vehicle: at least 60 minutes before departure (30 minutes for the Partner Lines).
With vehicle (priority boarding): 2 and a half hours before (3 and a half hours if traveling to/from Tunisia). Beyond this limit we cannot guarantee either dedicated parking or priority boarding.

Check-in and Priority Boarding

Upon arrival at the port, the disabled person must go to the Grimaldi Lines PMR ASSISTANCE desk to check in and collect an adhesive coupon to affix to the vehicle. On national lines, alternatively, it is possible to use the fast check-in, going directly to the boarding dock. To be recognized, you must turn on the 4 hazard lights and/or place an A4 sheet with the word PMR on the dashboard, received at the time of booking. Subsequently, the staff will provide the necessary assistance and indicate where to park on the garage deck to easily reach the elevators and on-board services.

Safety, Refund and Assistance on Board

If, for safety reasons or design of the ship/port, it is not possible to embark the PMR in suitable conditions, the booking may be refused with immediate communication of the reasons. In such cases, the person with disabilities can choose between reimbursement or alternative transport.
If strictly necessary, the Carrier may request that the PMR travel with an escort (transported free of charge) to provide the necessary assistance.
The Carrier is liable for any damage to wheelchairs or other equipment, if attributable to its fault or negligence, within the limits of EU Regulation 1177/2010, 392/2009 and related legislation. To obtain compensation, it is possible to send a written request to customer@grimaldi.napoli.it.
On board, the Purser or the assigned personnel ensures the necessary assistance to PMRs (recognisable by the ASSISTANCE band). Cabins, toilets and equipped routes (tactile guides, elevators with illuminated keyboards and audio) make it easier to get around. There are also reserved spaces for wheelchairs, with suitable fastening devices.
